    a flight of beers
    Paulene C.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the two women working behind the bar were great! They were friendly and attentive. My favorite beer was the Holly Jolly Winter Warmer. The bartender by a cinnamon sugar rim and it complimented the beer well. The beer and atmosphere were excellent. Definitely recommend coming here!

My beer flight. Did not come with a pilot though.

First time going to an indoor brewing company and this place did not disappoint. There were 10 brews on tap and I'm glad they had the availability of flights. It was 4 beers for $8. I had a NEIPA and a golden stout among the 4 I tried and they were delicious. There was also a pear beer which was really good. The staff was super friendly, talkative and welcoming. Please give this place business.

Beer flight with an extra winter warmer

Stopped in here yesterday afternoon on a whim. The bar seats were full as were all the tables, but it appeared a birthday party was the reason for that. We managed to snag a couple seats from some party folks that got up to get some food. I was pretty pumped to see that the menu wasn't 80% IPAs and Stouts, so we ordered a flight to try a few different brews. #1, the one with bergamot was lovely. I am a tea drinker on the regular so any brewery that is able to successfully mix tea flavors and beer is okay by me. The winter warmer was nice too, but it was much better with the cinnamon sugar rim. There was an Ale we wanted to try but the keg kicked mid pour on our flight and they didn't have another to hook up. The little bit we did try was very smooth, not super hoppy like you typically get with anything ending in "Ale." We tried two others that weren't super memorable to me. Overall, I think the beers are interesting, and it was really refreshing to go to a brewery that knows how to make something other than IPAs. It's a big place that usually is probably not quite so packed. The staff was friendly. The location was a little out of the way but I would be interested in coming back if I am down that way again.

Berlin Brewing has been on my radar for almost a year now, and I'm so unbelievably glad I was able to visit while still living in the area! Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this still-new brewery -- I figured it'd be a tiny, bare bones tasting room with a handful of options. I was totally wrong! I walked in half an hour before closing with my mom to an inviting environment filled with people happily drinking away the weekend. I found us seats and was directed to the brewery area. Per NJ's weirdo laws, you have to take a tour before you can drink. At Berlin, you walk into a space that feels like a museum exhibition area where you can watch the video created by the owners (sorry, I did not, but I did take a photo of it!). You then grab an admission "ticket" to show as proof of your tour. When I got back to the bar, my mom had already requested to try their alcohol-free root beer. She loved it, and Tony gave it to her on the house! Super nice. For my flight, I teetered on what to order but eventually tried: * Boro Kolsch * Humble Bitch * Bulldog ENG Mild * The Grey Earle I was blown away by the intricacies found in each beer. I used to hate the kolsh style, but this one was refreshing and smooth. Same deal with the English mild. My favorite? The Grey Earle, a tea-infused English mild. Um, can I just say: Incredible. So good! Humble Bitch was an oddball. I can't even describe it. They call it an Amber, but it's more bitter than you may expect. But it's also... good. I liked it, but I'd never order a full pint of it. Even so, you should check it out for yourself. Maybe you can describe it better? I really like that you can mark up the wooden flights. I signed "KD" in a circle, so if you get that holder when you go, you're extra lucky! I also scribbled over Eagles fan stuff to show my Vikings support. After all, there's a big emphasis on sports decor in this brewery. My whole visit to Berlin was extremely positive. From the beers to the friendly staff, I couldn't have asked for a better welcome. So many good vibes to you guys. Hope I can make it back one day!

For a while I had been wanting to come to Berlin Brewing Company, and I finally made the trip all the way from Toms River. I am glad that I went. Berlin Brewing Company is a relatively small establishment. They have a bar with some side seating, although most people seem to be sitting at the bar. The other customers were all very friendly, and I got to meet many people. Most of them were right from the immediate area. They only charged me $6 for a flight, which is relatively inexpensive. I feel I had a lot of enjoyment for the money. The beers tend to be malty and rich. They even had some Christmas themed beers, which I enjoyed. The beers were not super complex, however. The staff members were very attentive and super sweet. I just didn't get to meet any of the owners, however. Sometimes I enjoy meeting them for a personalized tour, instead of just the video. However, I think it is a good idea that they have a laminated ticket to show compliance with the law that all customers have watched the tour-video.

A flight of beer plus egg rolls from the food truck outside. Great way to support a local business.

We just had 2 flights to try every beer on tap and we enjoyed them all. I'm picky with my beers so it is rare for me to like all the offerings. Plus out server is knowledgeable and super nice. We'll definitely be back.

    Try all 6 for $10

I was excited to come here but was totally disappointed. Just like all breweries in NJ, you have to take the self guided tour before getting served. They had 6 beers on tap, 1 was out, and the root beer wasn't carbonated yet (I would've just not put this on their list bc a few of our friends wanted it). They did let us all try a sample of it and it was pretty tasty, little sugary but I liked it more then the beers they had. You can get 4 beers in a flight for $6, or we tried all 6 beers on tap for $10. They were all disappointing except the milk stout and the winter beer. I think the winter beer was good because they added a cinnamon sugar rim to the glass which is optional. All the beers had a weird after taste, like legit Berlin tap water. Pretty disappointing. We'll be back in the future once they are a little more established and get more beers out there. We won't totally give up on our local breweries in South Jersey! You can bring food here or get delivery. It's very spacious.

This was hung on their wall. Super cool

Berlin Brewing Co. came to me with a high recommendation, but unfortunately my experience fell pretty flat. To start, they were closing an hour early on the day of my visit, limiting the time to really experience the "tour" and go through the sampling process. I would have liked to watch the video and learn more about their brewery, but I ended up just popping into the room for a second to grab the "ticket" needed to show the bartender that the tour was taken. They were out of three different brews on the day of my visit and didn't have anything else replacing them on tap. Of the brews I tried, I felt they were just okay. I had a small taste of the Summer Ace and Boro Kolsch, as well pints of Sunchaser Mango Ale and Insolent IPA to share. They weren't bad, but none of them really stood out. There are so many breweries out there, especially in South Jersey, I was really hoping for that wow factor. Even though they were trying to close up shop early, it took three attempts for us to settle up. Berlin Brewing wasn't bad, but just not worth a special, out-of-our-way visit.

We decided to revisit this establishment after "happenstancedly" stumbling upon it a year ago after not being able to locate a cooking class date we were heading to. We shared a few good beers and had a great time with a local DJ in 2017 and decided to give it another shot for nostalgia purposes in 2018. It has totally become THE popular place in just a year. Food trucks, a band, trivia WOW! It was super crowded and the brewmasters seemed to care more about their own food and / or their phones than us waiting at the bar. Once I was recognized and served we went for 2 flights, which are absolutely reasonably priced at $6 / flight (4 mini beers). Their beer list was only 10 deep with 1 being a non-beer (0%). With that said 2 flights and were virtually done with the entire beer list. Ok ok ok what beers were good you're probably asking? WELL. They had a Pig Roast Smoked Porter (5.4%) that was really UNIQUE and quite tasty. My BF said it seemed as though it was brewed with bacon ! It was really different. The Nutty or Nice was also pretty tasty as it was embellished with hazelnut bitters. His fave was the Scream Ale at 4.8% which was a lighter sweeter ale with a refreshing taste. Will we be back? Probably for the pizza truck next week because we had previously eaten of course before coming here and the pizza folks were scarfing down looked CRAZY GOOD, SO, we will be back, primarily for the pizza and will of course grab a pint to wash it all down with.

For the atmosphere, popcorn, service. Beer is pretty good. We're used to (and enjoy) more IPA style beers. My favorite was the Nelson pale ale but we also tried the summer ace hefeweisen, sunchaser mango ale, insolent IPA and blood orange shandy. Blood orange tasted like orange soda, IPA was a little sweet for me, hefe was nice and basic, and mango was very sweet. Overall, glad they're here and a great place to stop by for a quick drink.

Great place to hang out and drink beer. The owners have a knack for service without being overwhelming. The kolsch and blood orange shandy are clear winners. NE IPA is a fantastic addition to their impressive beer lineup.

No beer. But the ciders and meads are phenomenal. My girlfriend and I stopped in yesterday on a Saturday afternoon, which was our first time there. We each tried a cider flight and a mead flight and loved everything. Definite standouts for me were the Mother Muse and Tulsi (both had a nice mix of sweet fruit taste with a hint of herbs like rosemary and basil) and the Ayamarcay with its decadent peanut/chocolate flavor. The story of how this place came to be is just as incredible. Founding member Christian Annese was misdiagnosed many years ago with Celiac, which led him to the world of ciders and meads. At the time, NJ laws made it incredibly difficult to brew quality cider, and mead was effectively illegal. So Christian and his partners worked tirelessly with NJ legislators to change the law, and in 2020 Armageddon opened for business. Highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be back!

They have a whole wall of beer singles in the far right aisle and even more in the fridge. I was able to find everything I wanted and more. At check out, I asked the guy working if there were any fun sours I missed, and he pointed me to the Equilibrium separate from the rest (aka, IPAs).
