Some solid beers here and great service as although there was just one person working, he was able To do a good job of keeping up. Their Black IPA was easily my favorite and loved the nice balance and smoothness of it. IPAs take up a majority of the menu but all the ones I had were pretty decent and worth checking out. I'll definitely look to check out more of their stuff when I am back.

Stopped in here on a Monday afternoon. They have a good amount of picnic type tables inside for seating and some high tops too. I am not small and the benches at the tables didn't feel sturdy or that they would hold me. We moved to a high top and it was much better! I got a pint of beer and my boyfriend enjoyed a flight. We enjoyed everything we tried. Bartender was friendly too!

Great brewery! I love IPA's and they delivered!! I had the flight and loved them all!! My husband had the Orange Jumpsuit and loved it!! They are pet friendly inside. No food truck but I just found out it's a Jersey thing, not the brewery. What a shame. They have board games if you want to drink and stay awhile. The game was on so my husband was happy. They have a tv. I definitely recommend this brewery!

I've been seeing pictures and good remarks on local Facebook groups now for a little while now in regards to Bout The Hops. Was finally able to stop in tonight and was very pleased with the beer and the service. It's tucked away in an industrial complex off of rt 73 with plenty of parking. They have a bar and plenty of high top tables with tic tac toe and the Cracker Barrel peg game at each table. 18 beers on tap with plenty of variety for everyone. They offer 4 and 6 beer flights. I browsed the menu prior to arriving and was very excited there are many hazy IPAs on tap and was planning on ordering mostly those. I didn't stick to my plan. I had a couple IPAs but also a couple sours and a porter. I enjoyed all of the beer I tasted and the flight itself looked beautiful. I'm already planning my next trip back as we speak. The employees (and owner I presume) were great. Personable, kind, accommodating, relatable, and had a great sense of humor. They were eager to talk to us about the business, the beer, their plans, their lives. My next trip I'm going to try 6 beers I did not get to try this time and I can't wait.

Still open during the quarantine! Come grab some local beers.

COVID19 Quarantine Review; After seeing a plethora of "New Brewery" signs all over town, I decided to follow them - which led me to Bout The Hops Brewery. Bout the Hops is located deep inside an industrial park. This allows for plenty of parking, but currently no outdoor seating. Since I checked out the Brewery during the pandemic, I couldn't go inside. But they had a small table set up with merchandise and a menu, the (masked) staff was quick to greet me and help me order some local beers. The inside of the Brewery did look really cool. They've done a great job at creating a cool indoor space, hopefully we'll all be able to hang out in there soon!

OBSESSED with Bout the Hops. I've been meaning to check them out simply because they're local and they brew beer, but I was not expecting so much awesome and delicious! We read that they were Bring Your Own Food, so we picked up some Mexican take out and decided to check this place out on a Saturday evening. With COVID-19, there was only outdoor seating available (though relatively limited), but there was no wait and they were nowhere near crowded. The 18 or so beers on tap all looked so good! And that is a LOT of beer for a place that is relatively new! And the quality was just as good as the quantity. They had some delicious NEIPAs, imperial IPA, west coast IPA, but also an Irish Red and a Hefeweizen. We got two flights and two beers, and even took two packs of cans to-go. It was a bit pricey I'll admit, but only because we were really trying to have a bit of everything that looked good- and it all tasted so good! I truly hope this place survives the pandemic. We will definitely be back when in the area again.

Flights!

I wanna rate this higher butttttt I honestly wasn't that impressed with the beers :-( Location wise... it's a good location! If you're near Mt Laurel area and you see the "New Brewery" signs.... these signs lead you to this brewery!Wouldn't even have thought there was a brewery hidden next to the Virtua office and surrounded by a ton of hotels that are in walking distance. So if you're staying in one of these hotels, it is worth to drop by and check em out. Good amount of space inside and had tons of seating when I came on a Sunday afternoon. Beers Lots to choose from! 18 on tap to be exact. My review is not for any of the IPAs but they had a good number of options for those that are IPA fans. The names were fun... wish I didn't eat brunch right before coming here so I can try more... but the names were entertaining such TuHop Shakur.... Hoptimus Prime just to name a few. Flights of 4 or 6 are available at this brewery so you can sample before committing! Great & Powerful Woz - their sour beer... you know the face kids make when tasting something sour for the first time? That's basically the face I made haha... super super sour made my jaw hurt lol. Definitely would not be able to drink more than just a taster size of this! It's a Trap - Their Trappist beer was good but I thought was a little too syrupy and sweet. I can taste the brown sugar a bit too much with this one. O'Banions Brew - Irish Red Ale.... light and drinkable... just wasn't wowed or anything. It was kinda just meh. Harry Stouter - This stout was creamy and was my favorite. I am a stout girl... but I thought the flavors were good.. so it was the favorite out of the bunch. I'm not gonna go out of my way to come back to this brewery.. but if I'm in the area... may stop in and see if they've got other new beers on tap. The brewery itself is really nice inside with great customer service... so wouldn't mind coming with a group.. but other than that... the beers are just ok!

Located in an industrial park

Breweries are my thing, and I love supporting small local ones, and that is why I have visited over 100 in New Jersey alone. 'Bout the Hops Brewing is one of the very newest ones in New Jersey. Some of the other reviews mentioned that it's not the best to be located in an industrial park, and that criticism isn't fair. Many of the best breweries in NJ are in industrial parks, and most guys like the industrial feel in the tasting room. Examples include Kane, Cape May, and Conclave. It's easier to truck the beer in and out for distribution and fit larger vats inside. Their location is still very much central and near all the stores on Route 73. The service is excellent here. I found them to be very welcoming, too. However, I just cannot rate the beer well. The IPA's did not taste like IPA's to me, and the Hefeweizen tasted like orange soda without the sugar. During my brewery tour, I have found that each brewery offers something unique to make themselves stand out, but I just question what that is here. They are still new, so there is plenty of time to improve.

Went there Saturday night and was surprised how cool it was inside since it's in an industry park. Was pretty packed as well. There was only one person working the front and a few workers in the back eating their dinner. I wish one of them hopped up to help the line a bit. Beers were very good!!! The only reason I did 4 and not 5 stars was because some lines were out while we got there which was upsetting.

New place in a hard to find location, but great selection to choose from. Get 4 or 6 sample flights or a pour of their local brew

First reaction to Diablo Amarillo was - holy crap! I went down to my beer fridge, popped open a can of Haze to drink them next to each other. The Haze is better put together, but it holds up.....wow! This is a tiny brewery. Its not the easiest to find, but your GPS is right. They have small set up, but it looks like they are doing their best with Covid and all. They couldn't have been nicer, I had my kids with me and the hostess was nice to them. I had 1 beer. They weren't filling growlers and with the kids, I couldn't stay. But judged on this one beer, I expect big things from these folks.

Steve J.

Great pub with an great selection of brews. And they are great. Friday nights they have food trucks for grub and live music too.

Rob R.

Awesome little brewery in an unexpected location. Walking distance from my hotel. Prices are reasonable and the beers were awesome. Tried a bunch of their double IPAs and all were good. Plenty of parking and plenty of seating. Will definitely visit again when back in town.

Cross Keys is actually a section of Monroe Twp in Gloucester Co., NJ. They capitalize on that theme, and the main bar has so many cool, old keys shellacked into it. I could stare at the bar surface for hours. What I noticed is that they are a very modest, down-to-earth place to hang out. Everyone seems very friendly, and the service was excellent. Their beers tend to be light, simple, and drinkable. They also have cans available. I ended up getting a 4-pack of their lager.

We only wanted to try a flight and sit outdoors, which wasn't difficult, but the beers were only average at best overall. While inside to order we overheard 2 different comics and their material wasn't very good. We weren't there for that, but it is what it is. As for the beers they had a couple of good beers, but the rest were only average. While we were seated outside it was very quiet (everyone was inside) one other person came out to enjoy the outdoors and started smoking. At any brewery where we are from in NY smoking is prohibited even in the outdoor seating, so that was disappointing. It wasn't a bad brewery, but our visit wasn't impressive. We've been to many breweries in a ton of places, but I wasn't impressed enough here to come back.

Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.

Most recently came here on a Thursday night in August. It was about half full, so not dead but not obnoxiously crowded either. Enjoyed a flight while watching the Phillies (they lost, alas...), and bought two four packs to bring home with me - the backyard copper cream ale and the golden peach ale - which cost $25. The only beer that I wasn't too crazy about was the Granny Sam Green Apple Sour but once the other fruited sour kicked I ended up switching to Shandy Cheeks. I was skeptical as it's lemonade mixed the beer of your choice. I had it with Dock's Orders and actually loved it. It was light, refreshing, thirst quenching, and very easy to drink. Highly recommend especially if you're not much of a beer drinker but find yourself here with a group of friends. Everyone in our group really enjoyed themselves at Brewlittles.
