We craving hotdogs and boy this place did not disappoint! My nephew ended up getting just a classic hotdog and said everything is bigger in Texas including this hotdog! I got a chili cheese dog and it was delicious especially the bun! We shared an order of the fries and man this are delicious! All in all this is definitely a place you should visit. They have plenty of choices and even have carnival food! We left full and satisfied and per my nephew my stomach is the fullest it's ever been! read more

Yes Yes Yes And yes again. Our first visit and it was an absolute feast! We had already scoped the menu and knew we wanted to try several dogs: the Chicago, the North Carolina, the Sundance, and the Montgomery. The restaurant is much smaller than I thought it would be - and much smaller than it deserves! Though the menu consists of hot dogs and fried fair food, the owners, Jamie and Bre, were dishing out top notch service and absolutely delicious food along with Chapa behind the counter - and they need more room because more people need to need to experience what they are dishing out. Along with the dogs listed above, we ordered sweet potato tots, fries, and a funnel cake. We had seats at the bar and got to chat with Jamie, Bre, and Chapa and it made our experience all the better. As the hotdogs came out, and I had my usual yelp photo shoot, they were too cute making jokes about getting all the right angles! Chapa let us know that we picked all his favorites off of the menu and he obviously has some damn good taste - we spilt each dog three ways so that everyone in our group could try them and they were all winners (see photos for ranking). Their relish was on another level, and their bacon was otherworldly- these hotdogs are what all hotdogs should be based off of - my only wish is that I had a beer to wash it down with. We learned a bit about the history of the place and why these guys do what they do and enjoyed good food and service at the same time. Our feast experience all happened within an hour, too! They close at 8PM and they accepted every single patron with enthusiasm and fresh hot food until we left at 8:05PM. I cannot wait until our second visit - which will be very soon. read more

OMG!!! The best hotdogs ever!! We had the North Carolina without the blue cheese (cause ugh) and it was delicious!!! Imagine the possibilities! This is the place where beef hotdogs are elevated to a new level. We were on our way to Home Goods in Conroe and out of the blue, had a craving for a Chicago dog. After a quick check on Yelp, Buldogies was on the way, and within minutes, we were sitting inside of this family-run restaurant. It was a Saturday afternoon and they were quite busy, yet there was plenty of seating for everyone. When we first arrived I was skeptical. But , man was I wrong. The dogs are amazing ( and big ) . I'm usually a 3 hotdog kind of guy . I assure you , one is plenty. My buddy looks over and exclaims "That's how you know this S&(@t is good is when you're blown away by a Hotdog!" This place achieves pass through status meaning you shouldn't pass through without stopping. The problem is, after you do stop and devour what this place offers up, you will want nothing more than to crawl into bed and the rest of your trip will be in peril. This is exactly the predicament I find myself now. I do not remember the specific menu items at hand because we basically told the tattoo'd and mask wearing owner to blow our minds. That... he did. I remember a haze of sordid flavors including sriracha, bleu cheese, the most amazing bread, onions, tomato, garlic, pesto, thick and coated bacon and finally a fried Reese's concoction that sent my mind whirling. The freshly squeezed lemonade just served to magnify these strange combinations of flavors. This is pass through status now, but mark my words, when that Texas speed train thing becomes real... it will be a destination!!! Do yourself a flavor. Stop by, on empty, and order the chef's table. The place was packed however, I was in and out in no time. Great service, amazing food, and cool decorations. Bob Ross was painting on their TV when I came in. Super cool. I will definitely be back to try their deep fried desserts. I still can't believe how awesome that Chicago dog tasted! It was so massive, it spilled over with every bite. First time eating at Buldogies. Very laidback. Not rushed to order. We sat at the bar. Hotdogs were delicious. We got the Wyatt Earp and Jesse James. We also got loaded fries and sriracha fries. This is a place I could see on 'Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives'. The food fits that mold, I mean that in a good way. The staff is exuberant and greets each customer. I'm a fan of their unique order style also. The portion sizes are excellent and the food will have you feeling like you're at a state fair. If you live in Conroe and haven't tried this place, get in the car and go now. If you live in Conroe and haven't tried this place, launch Waze, put in the address,and go now. I can't stress enough of how this place is so worth it. We went with a small group Saturday evening. We ended up divvying up a tour of the menu amongst the group. One person ordered this, another ordered that, etc. We then shared these delectables. All of the hot dogs were amazing. You get your choice between Nathan's or Hebrew National. You can build your own or try Jamie's / Bri's (the owners) creations. You will not be disappointed. The dessert menu is overwhelming. We tried a large sampling of desserts. Everything and I do mean everything was AMAZING. The place is small, it is family owned, everything is fresh -- all things I look for. Buldogies is an unusual restaurant in that the menu is carnival themed. Hotdogs and funnel cake and cotton candy. Lots of different things but their main item is the hotdogs. Many different combinations. Always pretty good. Not for you if your health conscious. Well they do have water. read more

My wife and I heard the buzz about this "Bulldoggies" place and had to try it out. First, we found out it was actually Buldogies. The location was a little difficult to see from 105, but it's right next to an El Bosque. The place is a hole in the wall, with a small bar counter with about 8 stools and there's about 10 2-person tables. When we walked in there were only a few people, but within 10 minutes there were people waiting outside for a seat. Those are really the only Cons I can say, and they're not even really Cons. I'll probably get a pick-up order next time. So, let's talk about Pros: The service is fast, food is extremely hot and fresh. Had the Nathan's dog since I know Hebrew National. My wife got the Montgomery TX which has cheese sauce, jalapenos, brisket, chives and tomatoes. I got the New York, with red onions, saurkraut and deli mustard. Both were fantastic and served on a toasted, buttered bun. The portion is generous, but we still got some of the spiral cut fair fries which were our favorite thing. The shakes were rustic and hefty and we had come in with hopes of trying the fried desserts and fair favorites, but we were too full at that point. The prices and portions are excellent, hard to find better without sacrificing quality. Just don't come in looking for an expansive menu with lots of healthy options (they DO have chicken and tuna salad sandwiches). By far, the best dog in Conroe right now read more

My wife and our son stopped in for our first time for dinner and had no clue of what I was about to experience. When I think of hotdogs I'm usually like meh. I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio and grew up eating street dogs, brats, sauerkraut etc. My wife and son love hotdogs so I decided to join them. We walked into the restaurant and we were immediately kindly greeted by who I think were the owners. The decor is country and they had some great country tunes playing. Totally my kind of scene. The restaurant was clean, organized and smelled friggen AMAZING from the food. I can't even describe all the scents I smelled. It reminded me of childhood times growing up and going to the fairgrounds. Powdered sugar smells, fresh bread smells, cheese sauce smells....I'm going here for lunch today ugh. So we way over ordered. I was thinking that they would be those little jankity ass franks that you buy at the store. I WAS WRONG! The food is large portions which we love, but I could barely finish one of my dogs. We tried the chili cheese dogs, Chicago dog, Corndog, Philly the Kid, 2 Funnel cakes and a chocolate malt. It was amazing! The buns are toasted and fresh, the dogs are Hebrew National and they are like sausages! Everything was extremely fresh and made to order. The cheese sauce was amazing and the presentation was picture perfect. All the veggies on my Chicago dog were fresh. The horseradish sauce was fantastic too. My sons corndog was hand dipped and the chili cheese dogs were not greasy and overpowering the cheese. The chocolate malt had to be hand spun and super creamy. They served it with a large thick straw not one of those weak ass little straws that takes an hour to enjoy it. Funnel cakes had maybe just a little too much powdered sugar and I had it all over the place. We got ours with freshly sliced strawberries on top. Deeeeelish y'all! I thought it was a little pricy until I considered the quality, portion size and freshness. We spent $60 but like I said it was my fault because we over ordered. I would like to say we have lived in Walden for 7 years and I don't know why I didn't ever stop in. I was continuous asked how my food was and they never missed a beat if we needed anything. If you like fairground food mixed with some nostalgia, I highly recommend this place. Perfect for a family fun night with the kids. This will be a regular visit for us. This place is simply incredible. I met a buddy here for lunch today, and was amazed that a hotdog could be so elevated! When I told my wife about it, she wanted to try it for supper, so I was lucky enough to eat here twice in a day. Between the two meals - and splitting every item - I tried the Jesse James, the Doc Holiday, the Montgomery Texas, tater tot pie, buldogie bacon, and El Churro. Wow! I'll have to eat veggies for a week to make up for it, but totally worth it. The dogs are high-quality and the buns are exceptional. The toppings are exquisite, and the the overall products are delectable. The tots are perhaps the best I've ever had - crunchy but not overcooked - with a curious umami note. If you like bacon, don't hesitate to try it here - out of this world delicious! And the dessert selection took me back to the state fair of Texas, with known but uncommon southern carnival treats. Take a day off of your diet, and try this place. It's worth every scrumptious calorie and more! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious. The portions are very generous. I'm a big guy and I wasn't sure I would be filled up with one hot dog, but you should see the size of these dogs! No matter your size, you won't be hungry when you finish your meal. It's a little pricey for my budget, but I believe you get your money's worth. You can pick one of the regular menu dogs or make your own. Whatever you choose, they will fix it any way you want it. Definitely worth checking out. I'll be back! read more

We love Buldogies! I first brought my daughter here because it was close to work. And here we are again! We live about 40 minutes away but we gladly made the drive! Who knew a hotdog, outside of the ballpark, could be so amazing- but they have done it. This is a quaint little country restaurant is right off the highway in Conroe not far from the lake. Buldogies was a recommended stop while we are in Lake Conroe TX. Buldogies did not disappoint! I had the Sundance Dog sans bun + Dan had Philly The Kid with a side of sweet potato tots + special sauce to dip. Delicious and filling! We had to try the Hot Fudge Sundae with candied pecans and real Bulwhip cream - with a cherry on top of course! Great finish. Limited hours from 11 Am to 6 PM for time being. Clean place and ready to serve customers with a smile. Try it if you are nearby. read more

But apparently, that was a bold and unreasonable ask. The adults not getting lids? Fine. But the kids? Tough crowd. Then I asked about a booster seat and you would've thought I requested a throne carried out by royal attendants. They don't have them which is fine but the attitude to tell me that? Not necessary. While the staff wasn't outwardly rude, the blatant disregard for basic food safety and hygiene was shocking. The cashier accidentally rang my order up as "to-go" instead of "for here." Honest mistake, no big deal. However, they accidentally handed my order to another couple who was picking up a to-go order. That couple walked completely out of the restaurant, took my food into their personal vehicle, and sat in their car with it. The employee realized the mistake, ran out to the parking lot, and retrieved the food from their car. Instead of remaking my meal from scratch, the staff brought the food back into the kitchen, replated it, and served it to my girlfriend and me. This is an absolute health code violation. Once food leaves the building and enters a stranger's vehicle, it is contaminated. We have no idea what happened to that food inside their car. To make matters worse, because it had been sitting in steam-trapped to-go boxes in someone else's car, the sweet potato fries and onion rings were completely soggy when they finally got to our table. Serving contaminated, poorly handled food just to avoid the cost of remaking an order is disgusting and unacceptable. We will not be returning.

I gotta say it isnt cheap eats, a lot of 40 dollar entres now. The drinks were okay again, probably a tad overpriced. Service was okay. The beer came in koozies that still said Willis, Texas. The sign over the bar, still said dock sidebar. But that WAS its charm. I would come to this restaurant for a special event like the comedy club, But it would not be Top of my list for a Mexican restaurant (or whatever it is now) in Conroe.

The food is absolutely exceptional! Hot dogs are fresh and the buns are unique, tasty and warm. Friendly folks providing fast service. The fare is carnival/midway style with a hint of New York City and Chicago flavors. You come in, sit down, fill out your order ticket, pull your soft drink from the cooler and before you know it, you are staring into a basket with a huge hot dog, piled high with toppings, hot, fresh and delicious. Shakes, freshly made lemonade, cotton candy, warm pretzels, what more could you want? The cook wore gloves, used tongs and was not engaged in cleaning or cashiering while cooking. Not to be overly critical, but this is the cleanest fast-food restaurant I have seen in a long, long time. Keep up the good work. The first time i went there i was AMAZED how great the hot dogs were. i went there again a few days ago and Bri knew how to make the chili cheese dog the way i like it.
