The chicken empanadas are great, the ensymadas are delicious, the bread is super tasty and fresh. i love this place!

I live in Reno and when I visit the Bay Area I always make a pit stop here and grab a dozen empanadas to go and freeze them. Makes a great snack and sometimes it's a meal on its own. Staff is always friendly and I love that they open till 8pm! My son also likes the bitso bitso. read more

I stopped in to buy some chicken/spicy pork empanadas to bring into work. First of all, every one of the other customers seemed like a regular, so I felt a little out of place, but the employees were nice. The empanadas were delicious; the crust was super flaky, and the filling was flavorful but a little dry. Also, the spicy pork gave a couple of my coworkers heartburn, so be careful if you're prone to that. read more

Everybody, repeat after me: Hopia Special! Hooo-piaaah Special!!! YUM! It's got a buttery crust and sweet yellow bean filling (not too heavy, not puny either) and it's just the right size to indulge in without feeling too guilty about carbo-loading. They've got delicious pandesal too. Dense and chewy, it'll hold up well with a longanisa and fried egg stuffed inside (now that's what I calla goooood breakfast) And their empanadas are delicious and satisfying, with that great buttery flaky crust too. Next time I'll try their siopaos, especially since I trust that their skills with dough far exceed my own. Tucked away in the corner of a local stripmall but not too hard to find (just look for the Island Pacific Market and you'll see the sign for Bulacan Bakery riiiight nearby) This place is worth a detour to V-town when you have the craving for Filipino baked goods. read more

Make sure you ask when the other kakanin are made. I bought a stale one one time. It wouldn't hurt to ask. Overall, their bread and empanadas are good. read more

Ah yes Bulacan Bakery what can I say except..... SARAP! My favorite thing to get it the puto it's so delicious and moist. also the sweetness is overflowing in my mouth with joy. And there is barely lines so I get what I want fast. :)) read more

Bulacan Bakery - Here we have Puto and Hopia Hapon (my parents favorite) - Bakeries Near Me - Vallejo, California

I love their ube hopia and their Spanish bread is the best I've tasted so far. The asado siopao was so flavorful like adobo. Authentic Filipino bakery. Love love love their beef empanadas too. read more

It was my first visit I wanted to try because of the reviews. Baked good are just ok not super yummy. Place is clean and cashier was friendly. I did like the Turon (fried banana with crunchy Carmel coating very delicious. Disappointed with the empanadas and the Karioka. The crust was not flaky on the empanadas. The Karioka seem to be a day old they were dry and did not taste fresh. Not sure if I will go back. read more

I got chicken empanada, beef empanada and turon (essentially a banana lumpia). Didn't much care for the beef empanada; it was sweetish. But I loved the chicken empanada and the turon. Definitely going back for more of those, and to try other stuff. The empanadas, by the way, are huge. Definitely good value for money. read more

These are the same owners from Pittsburg. They have the best empanadas and Siopaos around. I have Phili inlaws and even they love the food here. The different breads are fantastic. Some have cream cheese and sugar in them, while others, have fruit or meat fillings. Really affordable and extra delicious. Worth a trip to buy a few days worth of food. We used to drive from Suisun to Pittsburg for these tasty treats. Next to the big Asian Market on Springs Rd. Don't sleep on this one. Hurry Up and Buy! read more

I love their ube bread, ube ensaymadas, turon and chez cream mini breads. I need to try more of their goodies

Delicious treats at a reasonable price. They're open early which is great because most of the other bakeries in the area open at 9am and later. The bibingka & carmel cakes are my favorite. The bibingka is so moist, not too sweet, perfect treat that's available early enough to take to work. The Carmel cake is light and airy, I've only bought the small serving, but plan on buying a full size one for Thanksgiving, I know it'll be a hit. read more

They have good selection, fresh bake everyday. I've been going there for quite sometime now and I notice there are days when the pastries are not the same. Like the hopia alone, there are times that I can say it's really good and there are times that I would just thought I wasted my money. There's no quality control! I would suggest, ask for a sample before buying it. read more

While doing research on bakeries in the Fairfield area, I saw a picture of the karioka that someone had posted on Yelp. Since I was heading back this way from Jelly Belly Factory, I wanted to drop by and take a look. Whoever posted the address for "2110" Springs Road deserves a slap on the face. I drove around in circles and making turns everywhere and couldn't find it. The actual address is "2143" Springs Road. When I finally found this place, the smell of fresh baked bread, slowly melted my stress away. When I walked into this place, I noticed that everything was labeled in Filipino. There were no English translation on what's inside the bread. After standing there surfing on the internet on my cell to see what's what, I settled with pork siopia and karioka. The karioka was good. There's 4 to a stick and each one of them were the size of a golf ball. After taking a bite, it reminded me of Chinese fried sesame balls but with a yeast after-taste to it. The pork siopia was just ok. The filling was sweet and I just can't associate pork as being sweet. If I ever decide to drop by again, I'll just stick with the karioka. read more

The übe hopia and Suman are the best. I like their pandesal over Valerios. Even when they are a day old or two, I pop them in the oven for a couple minutes and it's like they just baked it. Their bibinka is nice, sweet and moist too. Just don't raise the prices :P read more

Me and my kids love this bakery we buy lots of bread and some turon, empanadas are so good and we're happy to come back and buy some more .

A well kept secret place for excellent empanadas!!! Very generous with the filling and good size, much better than Valerio's!!! Many other Filipino baked goodies to try the next time I'm in the area. read more

MMMMM!!!! So far I have had their chicken empanadas and the regular Hopia. Very delicious! They have a good selection of things too. MMMMM I want more...... read more

First off, the address given on yelp is wrong. The bakery is now right next to the large grocery store on the corner of Springs and Oakwood, at 2143. It took me an extra 10 minutes of driving around like a moron cuz the addy was wrong. I guess they've moved, or something. I came for the empanadas and sadly, my frame of reference for those is Mexican, not Filipino. The latter apparently comes with a slightly sweet glaze on the outside which totally threw off the flavor of the whole thing for me. The filling was good but with a not good crust, I just couldnt finish them. I also tried an ensaymada, and all I can say is its somehow just way too much gooey frosting for me. Guess I'm too much of a gringo for this joint, or rather this type food :( read more

Love their pandesal here! I don't like Valerio's, so even if I live near Valerio, I don't buy there, and come here still. Even after a few days, if you put the pandesal in the toaster, still good and fresh! Hopia is great! Bitso, too! Pianono roll.. Eggpie and ube, definitely worth to come back for! Real Filipino bakery!! Thumbs Up!! read more

The best HOPIA in whole wide world! Try their Hopiang Hapon.

I think that this has the best pandesals around. Much better than goldilocks and Valerie's because they were fresh and tasty. The adobo pandesals were excellent once I got home and toasted them. read more

Sometimes they sell old baked bread like their ensaymada , pandesal, ube bread and etc. they are hard and very dry. They shouldn't sell old baked bread. Some are stale . The cashier will say it's freshly baked or new but it's not. read more

Spicy Pork Empanada!

My favorite Filipino bakery ever!! I always buy the karioka and mini walnut tarts. The karioka is always crunchy on the outside and very chewy on the inside. A little too glazed in my opinion but that's alright because it's still good. And the walnut tarts, my oh my. The crust is flaky, a little chewy, has a faint butter taste, but no other flavor. The filling (I'm not exactly sure what's in the filling) is a little sweeter than other places but it's okay because it balances with the crust since it doesn't have much flavor. And it's topped with walnuts obviously which gives it a good crunch. read more

My friends always told me about puto and I've never had it before and I've been trying to find a place that had it and this Bakery has it and it's absolutely awesome read more

I was craving empanadas one day. Haven't had one since 98'. I ordered chicken and beef. They did not disappoint. Tasted just like I'd remembered!! They hit just the spot! Will be going back! read more

This is one of the finest local Phil Bakeries around. Yes there's one in Pittsburg, CA as well but I wanted to let people know there's one on the other side of the Benicia Bridge. Their breads and specialties are a delight to taste and they're always top notch taste wise. So far, I've bought and enjoyed their Puto, various Empenada, Mamon, Egg Pie, Various Hopia, Cheese Bread and Kutsinta. All worthwhile savories. read more

Omg, I'm in love with their empanadas!!! They also have some awesome Turon. Definitely recommend!

This bakery is next door to Island Pacific Market, it is literally a hole in the wall. You have to pay attention or you'll miss it. I went in and wasn't surprised to see how small it is, but they certainly maximize the space and make the most out of it. They have a lot of bread and pastries, I was happy to find they had no shortage of turon. I bought some señorita bread which was good, but I really wish it would've been fresh, and not prepackaged which in turn disappointed me. They have sticky rice right by the cash register as a last minute impulse buy, I saw it too late but will definitely try it at my next visit. They do have some items behind glass that are freshly baked, like their empanadas which I also plan on trying at my next visit. I would definitely recommend this place as a must try, being that I love pastries. The lady there is good spirited, just not too friendly so don't expect much of a conversation there, but the baked goods make up for the lack of customer service. I will be back to explore more of the baked goods they offer. read more

try the babinka! cream cheese topped yummmmmm!

Love their empanadas (filing is great and crust is flaky) and karioca balls.

I love their ensymadas, chicken empanadas. Wish they were still in Pittsburg though.

Best ube hopia and bibinka!(:

Sells the best turon and chicken empanadas! Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I like their PUTO. So far the best in the Bay Area.

I used to go to this bakery a lot , but not anymore from my last experience a few months ago with the cashier. I waited in line to order and when I asked for turon , bibingka , and a few other goodies I got my wallet out to pay when I saw the price I asked the lady the price because I was wondering why the total was so cheap, she pointed at the cash register with attitude and sighed then said annoyed " ,The price is right here" I was about to pay when my sister asked me " Did she get the bibingka?" and I asked the cashier if she added that to the bag and she looked at me dumbfounded and said "no" then went to grab it and added it to my bag and the price increased like I thought it should've been. Usually when I used to go to this bakery I was treated like an outsider when It was my turn they would either speak in tagalog to other customers and pay more attention to them they never smiled at me, or greeted me. I enjoyed the food they made so why not treat me like everyone else?... I also met some rude people from the store next to the bakery. I'm not filipino nor speak tagalog so I don't know if it's because of that reason. For sure I will not return to this bakery read more
