I recommend anyone considering glass/window/door work stay far, far away from Hakim. He's been harassing me for a review that is accurate and substantiated, not realizing how poorly doing so reflects on him and reinforces my one star review. See his latest message below in which he comments on my race--lovely. ("you are not white you from India"). I've reported it to Yelp. Hakim was quick to respond when I inquired about prices on a few things I needed done. His prices were reasonable. He was friendly, punctual, professional, easy to work with and he works fast. Took about 5 days from ordering to completed installation. The other person he works with was friendly and professional too. Hakim replaced the glass on three windows and also helped fix a couple of windows that needed mechanism replacements. I also ordered two glass tabletops for my dining tables. Hakim was super quick to respond to my quote request, and one of the only companies willing to work to fix just one window. I sent him a photo and my address, he came out two days later and was able to fix the window on the spot. He came out with one other associate and they had all their supplies and looked very professional. I had some work done on a leaky, old, 18-pane skylight, replacing some glass panes and reglazing the whole thing. The guys who came were pleasant and did good work. It's been two years since then and there are no leaks. They were responsive with the quotes and the price was fair. I would have given 5 stars if not for the fact that the job was rescheduled by Build Glass last minute, after I had already gone on site to meet them. Hakim is by far the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. We have had to postpone our condo sale by two weeks due to his many mistakes, and still I am left with an incomplete project and have to now hire someone else to fix his botched job. I hired him to replace a window frame. He quoted me a few days, then took well over a week. The window now does not open and stay open. (It used to.) Secondly, I hired him to replace the glass of four windows. He measured wrong, had the glass cut incorrectly (twice, I believe), and again, one of the windows that used to stay open not does not. He does not know how to communicate. I had initiate every check in to learn when he was planning to complete my project. His completed, unfinished product was more than ten days late. To make matters worse -- he is extremely rude and instead of acknowledging his error and correcting the problem, he has harassed me with many texts and threatened small claims court! I now have to hire someone else to fix the two windows. read more

Some movers broke our window when moving a couch. Our landlord said it was up to us to fix and gave me a person to reach out to and when I did they provided me a quote of almost $500! I retiled my 2 bathrooms and I had an existing glass door that can be used. Although I knew I needed new panels. I called about 15+ glass door companies in the Bay Area and you would be surprised how much more they charge up by double or triple. There was one company I will not name that is rated #2 that has a great price but they told me I can't use my doors due to my wall not being straight. I gave build glass a chance and they quoted me with an excellent price and the turn around was 4 days compared to 2 weeks plus. Hakim came over the next day after the call and he took about 1.5 hours to measure both bathrooms. I was wondering why he took so long but that's how detailed he is. Best part is he said he can use the shower doors to save money and not put it in trash. That was Wednesday morning and come Tuesday the installers come with the new panels. Nate and his team were super courteous and took their time installing the doors and panels. Again they took a while since they wanted it perfect but the end result is perfection.
