Took my 1 year old son to Build-A-Bear inside the Florida Mall for the first time, and this might just be one of my favorite memories we've made with him so far. I've never seen him so excited and just filled with pure joy. My husband had seen that they had Toothless stuffies from "How to Train Your Dragon." He knew that our son would just LOVE it and he was right about that. He was squealing & grinning from ear to ear the whole time. The staff was so patient and friendly, especially with all the kiddos, ensuring that they all had a magical experience. My son was so captivated by the little heart ceremony and watching as they stuffed his dragon. I loved Build-A-Bear as a kid, and it's just so sweet watching him love it, too. It's definitely pricey for a stuffed animal (around $40), but the memories we made and the joy we all experienced felt very worth it. We decided not to purchase any outfits this time, but they did have the special saddle accessory for Toothless. I saw that they also have the cutest Orlando Magic jersey set and now I want to go back and build a bear for myself, haha. read more

My daughter has wanted to experience this for some time. I took her there this past week and it was a blast. We ended up spending the better part of an hour while she chose the bear or in her case a zebra, and named her, filled her, dressed her, added accessories that she tried for a while and went through the process that was very cute and engaging. First time at Build a Bear! It's located close to the Macy's side of the mall. I saw on tik tok that if your child is turning 1, they can get a happy birthday bear for the price of their age! (They do not ask for a birth certificate or ID Info to verify the age.) My husband and I took our little one to check it out. We weren't greeted as the employees were busy but we figured how the process works. Basically, you pick the happy birthday deflated bear from the designated bins near the cash register side. Once you pick your bear, you will then go to the kiosk station to register and it will the print out a bear birth certificate that you will pick up when you pay for the bear. After we registered, we then had to wait for the bear to be inflated with air and be made. At this location there are only 2 air stations and when we were waiting in line, only 1 employee was inflating the bear. When the line was getting too long, another employee stepped in to open the other station. Since we just wanted to inflate the bear and do no add ons, it was fast. Once we were done, we then proceeded to the register and paid a $1.08 for the bear! My daughter absolutely loved it. It's worth the experience and worth checking out! I would recommend going at opening time if you want less of a waiting time. read more

Came here for both of my kids since there birthdays were 2 weeks apart. They had a great time building a bear and finding what they want. We saw a Mario and Luigi costume from the bear at the window and my son wanted the Mario but we couldn't find it in stores. I asked one of the workers and she took it off from the bear at the window and gave it to my son which made him extremely happy! When my kids were younger we used to shop in this location all the time. We have not been in in a very long time but they are still an excellent location. My oldest has a Winnie the Pooh that they wanted the sound removed from and went in to ask about it. Since they did not want a new one put in they took care of it at the front instead of making them wait in line. They even repaired some of the stitching. While their products are not inexpensive they are quality and they back them up for a lifetime. read more

Nieces came to visit, so we took them to Florida Mall for some shopping. As soon as they spotted this store, we had to go in and take a look around. They both decided on an animal they wanted and we went to the stuffing station. Staff was friendly and helpful in getting the animals stuffed and adding it's "heart" after the girls warmed them up in their hands. We then went for accessories and outfits. The How to Train Your Dragon saddle was hard to find since it was on the rack with crutches and bandages, but everything else was easy enough to see and pick out. We headed to the registers and paid for the items, and realized we hadn't given the animals their birth certificates yet, so we headed back to the middle of the store to make those and have them printed out. If you have never been to this store, or one like it, before, it's a little difficult to tell what exactly you are supposed to be doing, and in what order. There aren't really any clearly marked signs to explain how it all works and staff is usually busy helping the many other customers inside, so that's a bit frustrating. Overall: A Fun, but pricey, place to take the little ones. read more

This store was very neat and organized. There are so much selection, that if my kids had their way, we would he there all day. The bears / stuffed animals can add up quickly. Be sure to check out their clearance wall. Depending on the time you go, they run sales that are pretty good. We took advantage of their buy two Disney Princess outfits for $20; one outfit is regularly $16. The staff were very nice. I was in the middle of taking pictures and she was about to walk out from the back of the store. I motioned for her to walk through and I could wait but she insisted she would wait and walked around. If my 8 year old could write a Yelp review she would give Build-A-Bear 5 million stars with lots of smiley faces. And truly, that's all that matters. If you are going here with a kid they will be in heaven. Everything about Build-A-Bear is geared towards the kids making the bears. The employees know how to talk to the kids and really make them feel special. That's cool. The process is made to seam magical, the kids make a wish and give their bear a hear... goodness! And the bears have birth certificates and clothes... It's just too much cute. As a mom, I find this store mildly irritating. It's crowded and the whole process is a little slow, and I hate that they try to up-sell to little kids. But whatever, my opinion doesn't matter so much on this one. read more

We have been to this Build-A-Bear several times. The staff is very friendly, and they cater to the kids that come in to have an animal stuffed. We had to have a "surgery" performed on our bear, and the associate was very nice to my son and walked him through the "procedure". A bit pricey for stuffed animal, but they do last. read more

This place is super cute. We were a little confused about how it all worked at first but then someone came over and helped up put our new friend together. First we picked a bear, they asked if we wanted a sound or a scent, we passed on both. They then filled him up The cutest part was placing the heart inside of the bear. It was so sweet, watching my son create his new bear. He was super excited and he loves that he was able to fluff him, dress him, and name him. His name is Fluffy! The prices were somewhat reasonable. We spent about $50 on a bear, shirt, jeans, sneakers, hat, brush and bag. I didn't think it was too bad since we got all the accessories. They also have us a $10 gift card for next time and a $10 off coupon. Pretty sweet deal. We look forward to going back for some more accessories for Fluffy! read more

This location can get messy pretty quick since it's in a very busy mall in Orlando. When you have kids (especially little kids) you will at some point find yourself inside a Build-A-Bear. I would suggest the Florida Mall location. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful here and make the kids feel important and excited. My son and daughter have made numerous bears here over the years and each and every time it's a special trip for them. Well, more so my daughter than my son who is 10. Kids love the fact that they can actually help in making their bear. Then there is a station to "wash and clean" your bear and then do dozens of laps around the store looking for the perfect outfit or accessory. Once that is done you get to give your bear a name and your bear gets his very own birth certificate and a cool cage (box) to carry him home in. It's a very cool experience for young kids. I highly recommend it. They even do birthday parties at this location. Oh, and it's not just for kids. Parents can build a bear too! read more

So everyone is aware that the build a bear age thing was a fiasco. So build a bear sent out a certificate to get $15 off a bear to club members. Well the Age event you could bring his many children in your household there was no limit. But your ticket was only good for one bear. Well I have four children so I had 4 adults make memberships with 4 email address. Nothing wrong with that. But when we go to check out the sales girl loudly proclaimed to the store that it's only supposed to be one membership per family and they really shouldn't allow us to be able to use it and I just replied and said well if you're age event had worked the way it was supposed to I would be able to bring all four of my children and get a free bear but your event didn't work the way it was supposed to and now I'm only getting $15 off a bear instead of a free bear. So not only did bab screw up with the age thing, the sales person was rude. And that's why they are a 3 instead of a 5 because my kids did have fun read more

The best Build-A-Bear I've been to. Clean, organized, and the staff is incredible. The process of building your bear is really fun and the workers make everything really interactive, even down to stepping on the pedal to stuff them, and doing a heart ceremony before stitching up your new friend. I am absolutely disgusted with the way your company is handling the popularity of your Eevee build a bears. Tell people that they need to take off work and be at your store every morning at 10am in hopes of MAYBE getting one for their kid, is pretty piss poor customer service. You have a list of people in the store, but putting your name on the list means nothing. We can't order them online. And because of all this, people are reselling them on Ebay for upwards of $200. You really want other people making that kind of profit off of your products, when you could just be better about the number that you produce and ship out? How about the waiting list getting you so much as them being willing to hold your build a bear for 4-5 hours. Sorry, but the fact that people have to work during the day shouldn't mean that they have to pay $200 to get one of these for their kid. Its absurd!
