We went to Build a Bear in Greenwood Mall 2/24/2023. This was my first time ever (24yo) and also my kids (4&7). Our experience was fantastic. I'm usually overwhelmed but everyone was so nice and Fiona was outstanding She was so nice to us and our children and even showed our boys how they do everything! and the way she stuffed the bear!! Literal talent. She deserves the world and I hope she gets a raise! We will be back to make my own bear!

Super sweet employee - wonderful interaction

We have three very young kids (3, 3, 1) and we went to make a beat this morning. I wish I had caught the name of the employee who helped us stuff - they did a fantastic job especially with my shy twin. Selection was pretty expansive and there were lots of clothes. My one year old found a leaf stuck to our stroller somehow and made a huge mess and we didn't notice until it was everywhere, the employee who helped us was really sweet and didn't make a big deal of the mess. I work in retail and know how frustrating messes can be. Really the only negative was checkout, the cashier didn't offer to cut tags off, didn't give us our birth certificates and was trying to be speedy at the expense of customer service.

In this case, the 2023 Indy Shorts International Film Festival had a "camp" theme this year. As a result, the fine folks from Silly Safaris showed up at least a couple times showing off their fabulous animal actors including such beautiful wonders as Owlbert the Spectacled Owl, Chip the Bunny Rabbit, Ruffles the Screaming Hairy Armadillo, Radar the Fennec Fox, and a handful of others including a seriously ginormous snake. Their human counterparts handled the animals well and were entertaining, informative, and great despite the unusual settings - one was the kick-off event and the other was the awards night event. People loved the animals and everyone wanted photos. My favorites were the armadillo and the owl. Silly Safaris offers a variety of programs for a variety of settings including schools, libraries, birthday parties, and faith-based programs. They also offer sponsorship opportunities and even "safari shoutouts" where you can get an "animalgram" from one of their animals. This was so perfect for the camp theme, though it probably stretched the truth of what kinds of animals you might experience at an Indiana campout. Who cares? It was so much fun. While this is an obvious program for kids, I couldn't help but notice how much all the adults enjoyed this unique experience. Indy Shorts was just voted one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world - this is exactly why right here. These kinds of events are a blast and a great way to balance out the demands of a busy film festival. If you get the chance, I'd definitely consider a Silly Safaris program.

When I stopped on Friday morning to walk the dog, I was shocked to see the parking lot (which holds 60+ cars) almost full. They have 8 pickle-ball courts and they were full with a line of people waiting for a court The pangs of the balls were pretty loud and disrupted any peacefulness that the park has to offer. There is even a set of bleachers to watch the pickle-ball games. Anyway, the park does have an amazing playscape, perhaps the best in the Indy area. There are multiple climbing structures, swings for all abilities, a merry go round type structure and more. There is soft matting under the structures to keep the kids safe. Kids were having a blast. In addition, there is a colorful and awesome splash pad. There are nice benches, some covered, to sit and watch the kids. The park also has a walking trail into a wooded area, which is not paved, just gravel. There is some natural prairie vegetation. Trees have been recently planted. There are a nice set of restrooms including a family restroom. I also saw a small pavilion with picnic tables. Bottom line, while it's a bit crowded and loud, this is a great park with lots of fun things to do.

There is a decent amount of parking available but this park does get packed. The park features 8 very nice, fenced in, pickleball courts, a large playground, an active splash pad. The park also have two shelters with picnic tables under them and some benches under small shelter-like structures that provides some relief from the blazing sun. The splash pad has a lot going on. There are sprinklers, pouring buckets, sprayers, waterfalls and lots more. It is very nice and open from 9am to 8pm. The playground is modern and is Divided into zones for children aged 2 to 5 and 5 to 12. It is laid on a combination of artificial turf and rubberized, mud-free, surfacing. The playground features a swing bank with traditional and ADA swings, a net cone merry go round, a slide on artificial turf covered hills and a small jungle gym structure with a couple of slides and bridges. The highlight of the playground though is the towering jungle gym with a bunch of tall slides, ropes, and bridges. It is one of the first things that you will see when you arrive at the park. Additional amenities at the park include a water fountain that is capable of filling bottles, a restroom facility and a patch of green space to play catch or just throw a blanket down and relax, hiking trails that lead to and from downtown Bargersville. It is a small, but very well designed park. I will admit, that it does get packed during nice weather, no school days, especially on weekends. I really like this park. Bargersville has began to invest in parks, which is nice. This is definitely a must visit while in the Center Grove/Bargersville area.

I like to go early in the day to the Fair to avoid the crowds and take advantage of the cooler weather. We showed up at 11:00 a.m. and they were not collecting the $5 for parking. There was plenty of parking at that time. A fabulous map with schedule of events is available at various stations. The midway is enormous. I counted three assorted Ferris wheels alone. There are rides for young and the fearless. Plenty of games entice people to win a stuffed animal. And I couldn't even begin to count the food trucks. Anything fried that you could imagine was there. The animal barns were packed with trophy winning livestock. Watch your step, though! The outdoor horse arena is huge with awesome horses competing. A row of food pavilions offered beef and pork sandwiches. I stopped at each! My favorite was the Kiwanis barn where I had an awesome juicy pork bbq sandwich for $5.50 (I'd go back just for the sandwich). The pork tenderloins looked amazing, too! There was plenty of seating at clean tables and the staff was super friendly. The Exhibition Hall is at the far east side of the grounds. The Hall was packed with baked goods, preserved foods, hand crafted goods, photos and much more. The Exhibit Hall was the best organized of any of the fairs that I have visited. The facilities are somewhat dated, giving the Fair a homey feel. Admission is FREE! Worth a visit.

Don't get me wrong, they have a midway with rides and junk food but that's less of our scene. The animal barns are open at 8am which is also a great time to see the farm families shuffling around for the morning feed. This fair reminded me of my own county fair back in Randolph county. They also have a pork tent and food stand with simple and affordable breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's free to see the animal exhibits. We bopped our way between chickens and goats, swine, cows and rabbits. Next year, we'll plan to visit and enjoy breakfast while we are at it. The main exhibit hall opens at 10am.
