For an official Greenwood Park University Park is in a very odd place - right in the middle of a housing development. Heading east on Main St after going under I-65 you turn right into The Homecoming at University Park. Go straight and boom - there's the park. It offers a large open green space area, paved tree covered trails that loop around retaining ponds where you can see families of little duckies in the spring. There's a nice g CG overestimate picnic area beside the fenced in playground and a basketball court. The oddest thing about this park is the fact the walking trail butts up to the backs of ppls homes. So, you're out there hiking around looking at nature and the home dwellers are hanging out a few feet from the trail, cooking out, doing yard work, yelling at the young ones etc....

When I stopped on Friday morning to walk the dog, I was shocked to see the parking lot (which holds 60+ cars) almost full. They have 8 pickle-ball courts and they were full with a line of people waiting for a court The pangs of the balls were pretty loud and disrupted any peacefulness that the park has to offer. There is even a set of bleachers to watch the pickle-ball games. Anyway, the park does have an amazing playscape, perhaps the best in the Indy area. There are multiple climbing structures, swings for all abilities, a merry go round type structure and more. There is soft matting under the structures to keep the kids safe. Kids were having a blast. In addition, there is a colorful and awesome splash pad. There are nice benches, some covered, to sit and watch the kids. The park also has a walking trail into a wooded area, which is not paved, just gravel. There is some natural prairie vegetation. Trees have been recently planted. There are a nice set of restrooms including a family restroom. I also saw a small pavilion with picnic tables. Bottom line, while it's a bit crowded and loud, this is a great park with lots of fun things to do.

There is a decent amount of parking available but this park does get packed. The park features 8 very nice, fenced in, pickleball courts, a large playground, an active splash pad. The park also have two shelters with picnic tables under them and some benches under small shelter-like structures that provides some relief from the blazing sun. The splash pad has a lot going on. There are sprinklers, pouring buckets, sprayers, waterfalls and lots more. It is very nice and open from 9am to 8pm. The playground is modern and is Divided into zones for children aged 2 to 5 and 5 to 12. It is laid on a combination of artificial turf and rubberized, mud-free, surfacing. The playground features a swing bank with traditional and ADA swings, a net cone merry go round, a slide on artificial turf covered hills and a small jungle gym structure with a couple of slides and bridges. The highlight of the playground though is the towering jungle gym with a bunch of tall slides, ropes, and bridges. It is one of the first things that you will see when you arrive at the park. Additional amenities at the park include a water fountain that is capable of filling bottles, a restroom facility and a patch of green space to play catch or just throw a blanket down and relax, hiking trails that lead to and from downtown Bargersville. It is a small, but very well designed park. I will admit, that it does get packed during nice weather, no school days, especially on weekends. I really like this park. Bargersville has began to invest in parks, which is nice. This is definitely a must visit while in the Center Grove/Bargersville area.

They also have three covered pavilions, with picnic tables and grills that are available to rent. I actually had one of my kids birthday parties there. There is also a restroom facility, which is closed during the winter. They had two porta-pottys set up in front of the facility when I was there. Additionally, the park has a wheelchair accessible trail (zero grade, 1/4 mile asphalt) and a 3/4 mile asphalt hiking trail. It is open from dusk to dawn. The playground is all accessible have some nice equipment, including an interactive arch. The ground is made of the rubbery service that does not get your kids dirty, and protects them from scrapes. Right next to the playground is the sensory music area and a little kids basketball goal, that stands about 3 or 4 feet high. I dunked a few balls to make sure it was in good working order. The park is well maintained. The hiking trail is dual purpose, it is a story trail and a fitness trail. There are kids' storyboards all along the trail to read as you move from one to the next. The story is changed seasonally. There is also fitness equipment, such as pull up bars and parallel bars, spaced along the trail as well for those that want the fitness option. The basketball court is a full court and is decent. The rims have nets, which is a plus. What I really like about the park is that it is far off of the road, giving it a more quiet and tranquil feel. At the front of the park as an art exhibit consisting of painted rocks signifying how everyone is different.

There is a 3/4 mile paved walking trail that has a bit of a slope, not enough to stress about just enough to get you blood flowing and heart beating. There are a few covered picnic areas. A basketball court. Bathroom facilities open in the summer (in the winter they sometimes offer porta-potties but I'd definitely use the restroom at home prior to my visit - just in case!) For those of you who play Pokémon go the park has 4 gyms and a few stops. Always a fun place to play. It opens at dawn and closes at dusk and has a locking gate, so no stragglers will be left behind

The courts are in very good shape and has a small set of metal bleachers for spectators to sit and watch. Also in the front of the park is a shelter with picnic tables and a grill. The park has a decent amount of parking spots, but they can go rather quickly if there is an event at the park. A little deeper in the park is a small ground with a jungle gym with a couple of slides and a set of swings. The play area ground is lined with wood chips. There is another shelter across from the playground that has picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. You will also find a restroom structure in the area of the playground. The park's bread and butter however, is it trails. The trails are partially paved and partially in the woods. Picnic tables are scattered about the park, along the trails. There is also some open green space along some of the trails as well. This park is dog friendly and very peaceful. It has a nice bridge that crosses soothing and flowing Pleasant Run Creek. Down the street from this park is the Northwest Park Annex which has many similar amenities. This is a nice park for renting a shelter or trail walking. The city's website explains the park saying the park is best defined more by the natural landscape than recreational amenities.

This park is alright. It is not like the new mega playgrounds, But it is one of the better ones in the area. I may not have the flash or pizzazz of the newer ones, but it can provide fun for a couple of hours.

My granddaughters really like the "merry-go-round". The equipment is arranged by age group for toddlers up to 12 years old (although I climbed on a few things myself). Everything is clean with a ton of soft surface padding so the kids don't get hurt. There are drinking fountains, nearby restroom facilities and lots of picnic tables. Benches and small pavilions are scattered throughout the play area. The parking lots are huge with plenty of accessible spaces. The splash pad was closed for the season, but looked like fun. There is a paved walking trail that crosses the creek. Pet cleanup stations are available. A pickle ball court with 8 courts is really nice with covered seating area for spectators. It was a hot day, so the splash pad was going and kids were having a great time. The splash pad has water features that come up from the ground, buckets of water that fall down over your head, and lots of benches (with shade!) for people to sit at. The playground is huge! It has multiple structures for kids of all ages, with a separate area for babies and toddlers. This is a great playground for kids who like to climb and parkour, because there is so so so much to play on. My kid was trying to get from one part of the playground to the other without touching the ground, and he was doing monkey bars, climbing on walls, going through rope obstacle courses and lots more. There are multiple slides, swings (with two-person swings where a grown up can swing with their kid) and musical instruments. The whole playground has a rubberized ground for soft landings. One of the best things about the playground at Youngs Creek Park is that there are lots of places with shade! This was especially appreciated because when we visited, it was a super sunny and hot day. There are lots of clean restrooms located near the amphitheater on the other side of the park. A little ways further are the pickle ball courts.
