It has preety much everything you would want in a kids park. The park is actually in 2 parts, one in the front of the school and the other and much larger part in the back of the school. The park is named after a community leader, Dr Marvin Sandorf, who tirelessly served the community. The playground is very well maintained and has some top notch exotic equipment. They have you basic playground equipment and some stuff that I have never seen before. There is also a covered pavilion with picnic tables and a couple of grills. They have two very nice full basketball courts, one of which doubles as a field hockey rink pickleball court and other activities. It is touted as the state's very first Multi Use Game Area (MUGA) court. Both courts are some of the best I have ever seen. There is of course swings, slides, a merry go round, a xylophone, and two large jungle gym structures. I did see a water fountain out there, but there are not any restrooms. Of course there are benches throughout the park to sit on and relax. The playground is lined with artificial turf and that rubber surface that most new playgrounds are putting down on the floor. The park has a private parking lot for visitors and a huge green field to play football, soccer, frisbee or just throw the ball around. There is even a small bike/skateboard track next to the ball courts. It is very small and looks like an accident waiting t happen. My main issue with the playground is that due to the proximity to the school they have commandeered it. When I was there half the school was playing out there. They also had some classes eating lunch out there under the pavilion. It was packed. I like this park a lot, but the fact that the school has taken over the public park played into my rating (I was teetering between a 3 and 4, but decided to go with the 4). It is very hard to enjoy the park and all that it has to offer with over 50 kids running around. I almost felt like I was trespassing. I recommend going to this park when school is out. You and your little ones will enjoy the park much better and I am sure you will have a lot of fun.

This is a great playground for kids who like to climb! There is also a merry-go-round, swings (both regular swings and ones where you can swing with your child), a small structure for young kids, musical instruments and best of all, the whole playground is covered in that nice, soft rubber that is great for playing on (and falling on, if that happens). The park also has basketball courts, a track for skateboarding and riding bikes, a multi-purpose greenspace (open field) for soccer, and lots of picnic tables all around the playground. One thing that I didn't see was restrooms. I'm hoping they get some of those in there at some point! Sandorf Park is located behind Frederick Douglass IPS School 19. There is a different playground in front of the elementary school itself, but I'm not sure if it's available to the public (although I didn't see any signs that stated anything to the contrary).

Unfortunately, those working the front desk weren't as pleasant upon entry nor when we were leaving and I had questions. I wouldn't say they were rude but not very helpful. I wish there were more membership options but outside of this, no complaints.

That way, when I'm 65, I will have 22 years of pickleball experience under my belt and I will dominate on the court. It's all about playing the long game, baby -- literally and figuratively. Until my geriatric pickleball dreams come true, I'll keep trying out pickleball classes and facilities around Indy. The Picklr is a nice indoor pickleball facility in Noblesville. It has 12 pickleball courts (I think I counted correctly), plus a championship court with stadium seating. It's clean and bright and feels new. They provide rackets and balls, but you can bring your own, of course, and they also have a shop where you can buy gear. The shop also has a small selection of packaged snacks and drinks. I used to play varsity tennis when I was in high school, so pickleball feels familiar to my body and I can slip into it easily. But even if you're a complete beginner to racquet sports, this is a good facility to check out if you're curious about pickleball because the people who work here are welcoming and answer all of your questions. They also offer classes and clinics, so you can brush up on the basics. Their drop-in rates are not too shabby ($20 for non members), and their memberships are a good deal because they include unlimited play. The Picklr also has a Junior Academy for kids, which is cool. My kids can hold their own on the court and like to play pickleball, so I could see signing them up for this program, if only The Picklr wasn't hella far from where we live. My favorite part of the facility is an upstairs lounge area that's dark and relaxing, with mood lighting and leather seats. From this spot, you can see all of the courts below. It's a nice place to take a break when you're not on the court.

They do have age and weight limits that they strictly adhere to and I know the ceiling is 250 pounds, because I was knocking on the door of it and had to jump on the scale. You have to be at least three to join in on the fun, so I left the youngest little at home. This place is huge, approximately 72,000 square feet, and there are not many indoor kids play places on the south side of Indy, so this is a welcomed addition. They have zip lines, rock climbing walls, trampoline dodgeball, trampoline basketball, trampolines, a battle pit with foam blocks, trampoline air bag, laser tag, and a ropes course. There are also concession stands and video games. I must admit, that looks like a place that teleworking parents bring their kids while they work. They had some people there that looked like they were in a home office. The entire staff here is very friendly and helpful. Top notch all the way. You can bring your own helmet for the zip line, ropes course and rock climbing, which I recommend, so you know it fits, or they have common use ones that you can borrow They have 2 concession stands, one upstairs, by where you get on the zip-line and one downstairs. The upstairs one is only open on busy days. The downstairs one has a small arcade area and is their primary concession bar. They have candy, soft drinks, hot dogs, burger, fries, pretzels and other typical quick food. They are slightly higher priced than normal. I guess in line with movie theater prices. And they do not allow outside food or drinks. They have 4 zip lines that are all the same, but the number of lines open depends on how packed the place is. They were only running one line while I was there. There are some couches overlooking the zip line and some tables and chairs in the area of the upstairs concession stand that are some prime real estate. That is where some parents set up their hoe offices and also serves as a place to hold people's coats, shoes and other belongings. I did not see one free, while I was there. FYI: The ropes course has a higher height requirement than most of the attractions there. You should check it before you wait in line to make sure that your little is good to go. The rock climbing wall has two sections. One has a lot of attachments for little kids to grab and stand on. The other has much less attachments and is way more challenging. They have a toddler area, with a large bounce house and little toys. It is fenced off from the other areas. It is only for kids 2 years old and under or who are under 35 pounds. This is the only area in the complex that those kids can play. They play host to birthday parties and have a huge indoor soccer field where they hosts soccer leagues, football games and ultimate frisbee. It is very nice, with spectator bleachers and all. It can be rented out. They run some good specials, like their Hero Days on Wednesday and Thursday where Police, teachers, firefighters, nurses and military (along with their immediate family) get a discounted rate for 2 hours of unlimited stuff. It is a really good deal. You may also find an occasional Groupon deal as well. I really do not understand all the bad reviews this place got. My experience was awesome. My little and I had so much fun. She rode the zip line like they were closing it down for the season. She was able to easier navigate the rock climbing wall, which boosted her confidence as well as her ego. There is tons to do here, but I think two hours is good to do what you want to do. This is definitely the place to bring the little ones, but not too little. I highly recommend checking this place out.

It's like a little baby nightclub. But mainly, Zip City is for the big kids. There are two ziplines, several trampolines (even trampolines where you can joust, shoot hoops and play dodgeball), a laser tag area, a sky obstacle course and a rock climbing wall. There is also an indoor field, but we didn't play on it because there was a soccer game happening when we visited. We were here for a birthday party, and it seems like a great place to have a party. You get your own space with tables and a staff member to help, and then you set your hellions loose to burn off the sugar from the birthday cake. It's a really fun place for boys and girls who are adventurous and need an outlet for their energy. One of the things that I appreciate was that there was a staff member at each area, and several at the trampolines. They are always watching everything that's happening, and will remind you of the rules if they see you breaking them. I like my kids to have fun, but I like them to be safe more. In order to use the zipline, you need to weigh at least 35 pounds. Keep that in mind when planning a trip! Kids who weigh less than 35 pounds can play in the toddler section.

There are opportunities for clinics, lessons, ball machine rental, league and team play - they cover it all. My play has improved and that's just what I wanted. The club was opened in 1971 and the interior reflects that. Initially I was turned off by this but over time I've adapted to it. Many other clubs are equally dated so it is what it is. I'm there to play tennis, not lounge around. My only other critique would be that their billing system makes no sense. The front desk cannot tell you at one given moment how much you owe because not everything is tallied on the computer. Some things are billed via statements, your yearly membership is billed separately and then private clinics aren't kept track of either way and you have to pay that separately as well. I've never seen anything like it. I am considering taking up pickleball and the club offers that too. With regard to the one-star review below, I am very glad that the club doesn't allow children to play with the adults. Having a child around changes the dynamic and it's a very reasonable expectation that adults would be separated from kids. I'm guessing dad was deluding himself that the adults actually enjoyed playing with an 11 year old. If I signed up and found out that was the case I would look elsewhere to play. I'll take my kids to do that kind of thing with their peers or with me on my own time. I would not expect other adults to find them as talented, mature and charming as I think they are. ( ;

My 11-year-old son and I played pickleball for months at the Club then suddenly we were told that "liability" issues would prevent him from playing there again. My son is a very talented, mature player who got along very well with the adults, or so it seemed. Apparently one or more adults did not want a child playing regardless of skill level or temperament. That's selfish and intolerant but ultimately their decision. My problem is the hypocrisy of the management which allows tennis players my son's age or younger to play there on a regular basis but excludes my son. Is tennis a safer game than pickleball? In any case, no apology was made or workaround offered. I urge pickleball players to choose the Pearson Automotive Tennis Center; it's a much more welcoming place.

The handball area is on the backside of tennis courts. You will find 4 picnic shelters with picnic tables under them here and an awesome bathroom facility co located with the large shelter. Near the front of the park next to one of the shelters are 3 very nice and well maintained sets of corn hole boards. They are very impressive. The park has a fenced in splash pad that looks pretty cool. They have benches around the perimeter for parents to sit and watch the littles. In the warmer months it is open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. The center piece of the park is it playground area. It is lined with rubber matting and turf. It also has shade awnings and some new age equipment. There is a bank of swings that has a traditional swing, a toddler swing, and an expression swing. There are a couple of saucer swings, a universal carousel, a bunch of net climbers, a couple of slides, a 4-square course, a see-saw, some percussion instruments, and a whirl and twirl. I must say, the equipment looks straight out of an Ikea catalog. There are a few benches in this area for parents to sit and watch their kids. The park's paved fitness/jogging trail is awesome. It is well paved and has dog poop stations placed along the route. There is a huge parking lot for the park and they have even added a little bridge that connects the back parking spots with the park, crossing over a little prairie area. In addition to all that, the park has a few green space pockets that are suitable for playing catch, a pick up football game, a soccer match, flying a kite or other similar activities. The park is one of the nicer ones that I have visited and I like that the play are does not have dirt or mud. It is very well maintained and in good shape. I hope to make it back to this park when the splash pad is operational and get the full experience.
