The oldest of Mooresville's city parks is located on seven acres of land to the west of the intersection of SR 67 and 42 (High Street). It can be reached via Park Drive from the south or from South Street on the east or west.
The park itself has an urban feel to it with very little natural appeal. It does have an old playground that is undercoated with wood mulch including a slide, swings, a whirling wheel, and a more modern elevated tube and slide configuration. Off to the south is a set of three permanent horseshoe pits. Unfortunately, you can only play if you bring your own horseshoes.
There is a shelter that can be reserved. It has several picnic tables and two permanent grills that can be used. A blacktop parking area is very near the shelter to make it easier for hauling supplies for a party/cookout.
I didn't check it out, but there is a building that houses restrooms. If that is maintained, that would be a big plus for the park.
Overall, the park is probably fine for neighborhood kids to use or for someone wanting to use the shelter for a cookout. Other than that, the uses of the park are limited.
