My wife and I switched over to Bug Shark from Aptive a year ago and thought that we had signed a year long contract, as we knew we were moving in a year. When it came time to cancel, we found out that the contract apparently specified 1 year as 18 months and were requiring a cancellation fee. After talking with constumer service reps about our frustrations, as we felt this was a bit deceitful, we were taken care of properly. Specifically a representative named Ally was extremely empethetic and helpful. I've had this service for almost a year and I have not noticed any decline in infestations in my house. Just two days ago and I woke up to about 5,000 ants in my kitchen. That should not happen when you have an extermination company that's been spraying. This has happened a lot too! They are real nice when I call and tell them, but I shouldn't have to call. I shouldn't have ants. I have one payment left on my contract (that I didn't even know I signed) and then I'm done with them. I'm going to treat the bugs myself and save a whole lot of money. read more

They're AWFUL!! Pushy, deceitful! They dont tell you you're signing a one year contract. They don't tell you how much a one year contract will cost. They ask you to sign paperwork which you believe to be about the one time you've asked them to spray for spiders. A one year contract is not discussed. Next thing you know, money starts being removed from whatever card you provided them to pay for that one time service & they give you hell & charge you more than anyone can afford to get out of the contract they illegally had you sign. They're horrible. They're the highest priced. They only come out a couple times a year but you pay a monthly fee. Not only that, but their people practically pushed the paperwork down my throat. I didnt realize I was signing a year-long contract! I lost my job shortly after this & my friend stepped in to pay my past due balance. A one-time charge which she explicitly told the billing clerk & they repeated it to her. ONE TIME! Stay far away from these people. They charged me $137 to knock down a few cobwebs and inspect my house. Days after , I had 100's if not 1000's of ants at my front door. And when I mentioned that the inspection was done fairly quick, some guy called me trying to tell me "oh no the technician is mature and is over the age 50" as if that mattered any.... I would recommend doing what I did, and spraying it yourself lol. read more

A sales guy conducted an unsolicited door knock at my townhome. I was told by the sales guy that my neighbors signed up for this service which could cause all the bugs to be pushed toward my unit. He stated I could pay one month at a time, there was no contract, and I could cancel at any time. I was interested in the service for the spring months due to spiders/ants, etc. I provided my credit card but never signed anything. I was billed. They came. A week later, I called to cancel and was told I was locked into a 1-year contract and to cancel it would cost $150 for early termination. I explained what the sales guys told me about there being no contract and that I didn't sign anything. The call center woman forwarded me the contract; however, it was not my signature. They did allow me to cancel without any fees; however, this is a shady practice. I would never use these guys again. read more

Forced into a contract! a rep rolled up on a Hoover board stating they were doing a promotion. Sd I would be makn a 1time pmt to receive a service for $48. never mentioned a 12 month contract or a cancellation fee..took 3 pmts without my consent! i Only authorized 1 pmt but was told that was me signing the contract NO I was approving the 1 time pmt! Completely unethical company. Technicians they send out are not qualified and did absolutely nothing to fix my issues. The contract terms are hidden and not clear. I received a bill at 9 a.m. and was receiving collection calls by 3 pm that day saying it was past due. The contract cancellation fees are predatory. I was grilling on my back deck when a kid from this company walks into my back yard to try to sell me service and suggesting I offer him lunch. I told him I wasn't interested while my wife was doing her best to hold back our 70 lb pitbull from protecting us from this trespasser. Then he proceeds to walk up to the dog and stick his hand in her face, and came close to losing some fingers. I had to get down right belligerent to get him to leave. Totally unprofessional to violate the privacy of someone in their backyard. Ring the front doorbell, if no one answers, leave. read more

SCAM SERVICE! Do not trust these people. They bait and switch. Sell you a service then say your not covered and it costs more when they treat. Then say there's a penalty if you cancel. we made a mistake to switching to this company, the only reason was because they said they're a local company and we like supporting local companies. but it was a huge mistake, their customer service is horrible. unfortunately, they have an 18 month contract which will cost 290 to terminate. I've called multiple times to get an extra service added but I kept getting the "we will call you back in 48hrs" please do your research and read their reviews on google as well before you decide to switch from your current company. they have a lot of 1 star reviews due to horrible customer service. read more

So I was approached by a door to door salesman I reluctantly signed up for the service. The young man seemed nice enough and explained that they were a new local company. He also explained that after three services that if I was not satisfied that I could cancel without any questions. After three services I was not satisfied and called to cancel my service, paying my final balance. Recently I received a text message saying they were on their way out to perform my next treatment. I text back saying my service had been canceled previously. The technician replied ok I will let them know and proceeded to perform the service anyway. I then received a bill for the service and it was automatically billed to my credit card. I call to try to get it resolved and am told that they didn't have any notes in the system and that if I now want to cancel that I would need to pay an additional cancellation fee.
