Absolutely terrible.... Please read my review before using them. They have terrible service and unrealistic contracts. I can't stress enough please read the contracts before signing up with them. They will nickel and dime you and can change the price at any time. He plays this sob story it's so hard but you are running a professional business at the end of the day . It took 2 weeks for them to call me back and they didn't I had to call them. They tried to then coerce me into transferring my service even though I wasn't happy with it. Oh and did I mention to cancel the service you need to send a certified mail. There is no other way to cancel the service. You are not reimbursed for the certified letter. Here's my story... I recently acquired my mother's home and called Bugmasters regarding her contract. I requested that her contract be cancelled. I was then directed to the owner who asked me why I wanted to end the contract. I said that I was the new owner and wanted to go with Morgan's who is based locally (and is much cheaper by the way). At that point the owner said I was being "hostile" and he baited me into an argument. The owner then conveniently started recording the conversation after he started an argument with me as his "evidence" of my rude and erratic behavior. Their company truck was out on the road in the rain driving CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!! I had my 1 year old in the car and was stopped at a STOP sign! & he/she was honking at me to go. Do not recommend Bug-Masters LLC I became a Bug-Master customer in 2020 when Bug-Master absorbed the business of my incumbent Termite/Bug service provider. Upon the start of my service, Bug-Master installed termite bait traps around my house. A point of contention throughout the time Bug-Master service my home was the maintenance of two de-humidifiers in my crawl space installed by the original incumbent Termite/Bug service provider. When Bug-Master started my service, they agreed to, and supposedly maintained the de-humidifiers. However, I had to coax Bug-Master repeatedly to remind to them to perform the service. Another grievance was Bug-Master's processing time of payments. It would take weeks for payments to clear. In 2022, Bug-Master informed me that they would not maintain my de-humidifiers any longer. I was given a couple of used filters, and was told one of these are for my de-humidifiers. Upon inspection of the de-humidifiers this year, both were not working. I decided to find another company that would perform de-humidifier maintenance, and sent Bug-Master a termination letter in July 2024. The new company I hired pulled out Bug-Master's termite traps (which had become overgrown over the years) and installed new ones on July 29, 2024. Bug-Master's old termite traps (the ones we could find) were put in a box. Bug-Master stated they wanted them back. On October 21, 2024, Bug-Master came to my house when I was not home and pulled the new termite traps out. I made a huge mistake hiring this company once and cancelled the service almost immediately which cost me a lot. I found the owner to be like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. One minute he's super friendly and making promises and then if you have any disagreement at all he is defensive, angry and quoting the contract. I was asked to sign the contract in my front yard on an iPad with a sun glaring on the screen. I was an idiot for signing it. All you have to do is read the contract to know this is NOT a business or business owner you want to deal with. (client) "waives the right to a jury trial," "agrees and allows Bug-Masters LLC. permission to use audio and video at their discretion while on clients property or presence. This also includes any and all phone calls incoming or outgoing ....." and my favorite, discounts offered for good reviews. but.....they take away the discount and make you pay it back if you ever change your review. "this credit will be given as a courtesy and will be retracted if the client changes their 5 star review at any time. The purchaser understands and agrees that if he/she changes the review that they will be responsible for repayment of the credit(s) amount and any late fees that are incurred." I am seeing only 13 Five Star reviews of this company on Yelp and I assume many or all of them got discounts. To change those reviews it would cost them money. I see 32 reviews at a the lowest rating of 1 Star. If you read the negative reviews and review the contract it should be obvious that this is NOT a company to risk being under contract with. DO NOT USE Bug-Masters. Look elsewhere for your pest control services. Owner is incredibly rude, unprofessional and utilizes slimy sales tactics. Signed a one year agreement with an understanding that my family was planning on moving within the contract timeframe (still within the same city). They verbally reassured me that it was no problem they would just transfer the services to the new house (with an upcharge to the monthly fee since the home was larger) to finish out the contract. To me this was reasonable and I agreed to sign on for the year. Time comes to transfer the services to the new house and they attempt to tell me I have to sign an extended 3 year contract. After some heated conversation it drops to 2 year and eventually an option to pay another $300 initial start up fee for the new house and finish out the remaining services that I had the contract. I am now forced to pay $375 to cancel the agreement (otherwise the owner threatened to send to collections/court). Terrible way to conduct business The owner is a grade A scam artist. While I haven't hired Jon for bug service (YET), I can speak to his character. As I was leaving my son's baseball practice yesterday, I drove head first into a ditch I didn't see. He happened to be driving down the road and saw my car in the ditch. He immediately pulled into the parking lot and asked if I needed help. I hadn't even had a chance to look at the damage and he was out of his car and pulling the tow strap from his Bug-Masters truck. He shimmied under my car to attach the strap which was not easy and then towed my vehicle out of the ditch. My kids, other baseball parents and I were beyond appreciative of Jon and the fact that he offered that service completely unprompted. Very many interesting reviews. I cannot agree more with all the statements that say, "do not use this guy." My name is Larry, Jon knows me very well, we are going to court in March 2022. Personally, I cannot wait. We had a contract back in 2014 with BugMasters (Jon Tari) they were contracted to treat the inside of my bug and rodent infested apartments. We signed the contract at another location. When Bug-masters showed up at my apartment they walked in, looked at the mess, which included dog feces, turned around and walked out saying they would not touch this. A few months go by and much to our surprise we get a bill. I called Jon and talked to him letting him know there must some kind of a mistake because they hadn't done a single thing for us. After a heated discussion Jon decided to call my wife. She told him the same thing, "they did not do what they were "contracted" to do. All of a sudden Jon says that they treated the exterior of the house. My wife then reiterated the contract was to treat the inside of the house for the bugs and rodents that were in there. After a couple more discussions Jon agreed that "he would let this one go." Last year 2020 there was a lien placed on my rental property, for the work that was never started never mind completed. Disgusting attitude and extremely rude. No sense of common courtesy to make contact with the tenants BEFORE entering property. 2 men showed up and 1 walked through our front yard and straight to our backyard to enter our property WITH NO PERMISSION. Mind you we have 3 K9's onsite and 2 signs indicating dogs on premises. They didnt bother to knock on our door or make contact with us before attempting to waltz right into our gated backyard. When i came out to confront them the owner walked up and told me he has permission and doesnt need to knock or let me know that he's entering property because im not the owner. I started using Bug Masters LLC in 2014. As a customer, I have been pretty satisfied. Through the years, a friendship formed. I went to work for Jon recently, I walked out just under 2 months of employment. Yes, walked out, because Jon told me that if I didn't like what was going on, he was in a very heated discussion with his VP, his mother, that I could leave and turn in my resignation. Jon was so loud that the whole building must have heard him. Jon was not only unprofessional, unruly, but belligerent as well, not only this incident, but numerous times before. Jon is not only like this with his employees, but customers as well. So, what you have read from other reviews about Jon Tari's attitude is correct. If everything is going well, he is a kind and generous man. However, if you disagree with him, he is VERY confrontational, and he even admits it. I have cancelled all my services with Bug-Masters LLC. As per the pest and termite contracts, I sent the cancellation letter via certified mail. I was called by the Vice President, Sharon Geisinger, whom is Jon's mother, that Jon wanted to come out and remove the bait stations and rat stations but he changed his mind and decided to just leave them there. First, I paid for those termite bait stations and secondly, I did not request for them to be removed. Nowhere in the original contract, nor the new updated and stricter contract sent out on 5/18/21, did it say, if I cancelled, the bait system would need to be removed. The rat stations were recently placed and since I was an employee, Jon did remove the charges from my account. I expressed to Jon that I did not have a problem paying for them, like every other customer. It was his discretion not to charge me. After hanging up with the VP, about an hour later, I received an automated call stating that the technician would be out to service my address the next day. They never came. I sent out another certified letter, to protect myself, stating that I have fulfilled my contract, there is a ZERO balance and I wanted no further contact from Bug-Masters LLC in regards to the contracts. Behold, I get a letter from the company signed by all the employees. Now I am told I should have called him about my concerns. Jon was so gracious not to bill me for the rat stations. That was his choice, I made it clear that even though I was an employee, I would pay for the services. He chose friendship over pettiness; I think he is worried I will write a review of what he is like. He wanted to ensure my property was protected. I recall the bait stations being placed in the beginning of March but I was being a "pain" about asking about them checking them. Jon turns things around to make the other person look bad. Please take time to read the comments prior to mine, take note the dates, how the reviews are written, and the responses from Bug-Masters, they speak for themselves. I asked him if roaches had a distinct smell and he said yes and the best way to describe is infestation will smell oily like when black people sweat. He literally said this in front of my then 4 year old son SMH. Also says if you sign contract he will honor anywhere you move to in the 757. Lies. He will but will try to get you to sign a new one and charge you more money for having to go further out. Like I said he said anywhere in 757 but that's a lie. If you refuse to sign new contract he will not provide service and then turn around and sue you for breaking the original contract which in reality he broke. Our pest problem improved so I decided to cancel our service with them, after that it was a nightmare! I had updated a review as there were frustrations with the service such as a requirement to have a CERTIFIED LETTER to cancel but no one was at the address to receive. i called this company in an emergency situation they were very good at first. i used them for over a year they started using robot calls to tell me what day they would come. i sat at the house for the entire day. They did not show up. This happened 2 times. After i said something to the tech about giving a courtesy call regarding scheduling, no show and or being late, did they start communicating. the i noticed i was having a few roaches i my house, i called them. they wanted to charge a extra 250 and extend my contract out for 2 more years. i told the tech that don't feel like i should pay that much for extra service. he showed me my contract. they have a clause that says certain bug prices are to be determined. So. beware of the contract you signed. when i got upset and said i don't want to go back to a 2 year contract because i don't want to renew contract. he called the owner. the owner called me names such as high and mighty for not want to pay as much he also called me a nasty person for my attitude. he said he wouldn't talk to me until calmed down i said i would be available in a few hours to talk. he said i have to talk when he wanted to not when I wanted then hung up. he called and hour later with his district manager and yelled at me. Then he said i threatened the tech by telling hm i didn't like the hidden fees and would not renew the contract. So, he yelled at me saying he was able to fire nasty customers, so i was fired as his customer because i was questioning why his costs more than others. I didn't think I really needed to reiterate what everyone else was saying about this guys company but after the last email I decide people needed to see who they were think of doing business with. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband hired Jon to give his new company a chance back in 2013. His accounting practices are terrible. He sends bills late and refuses to send them to the right place after being repeatedly given the correct address and email. When he finally sends a paper bill he decides 2 months later that he is going to add late fees on to a bill that was late because he refused to correct the address/email address in his system. Unless we sign a 2 year contract with him. My husband called him numerous times and on the one occasion that he answered he sounded drunk and said he got stung by a jelly fish and would have to call back. He did not call back. Now he is telling me that even though we have no contract we have to pay him for a service he has yet to do since we didn't send him a certified letter terminating his services. VERY unprofessional. Here is an email showing how childish he is after we paid our balance and told him we were terminating our services. Since you did not give me a 30 day cancellation notice I will have to charge for September 2020 service per the agreement you signed. Bug-Master will no longer service your property any longer. Furthermore , you have been getting your emails on time and there is no excuse why the bills were never paid. Your agreement was updated in September 2018 via email. To ensure a paper trail would be established. Since, you tried to negotiate different terms to get out of late fees. Tells me you know you were wrong on not paying the invoice on time. I have records of every phone call and email that has ever been sent to you. At the end of the day there is no real excuse why the invoices weren't paid on time. You also, stated that you requested paper billing. Which we did via email every time we treated your home. If there was something different you needed it should have been sent certified mail. I am so sorry you did not do this. I will no longer reply to your emails as you have been sent multiple emails in the past that state that we do not check emails often and that's the reason we require certified mail. I will apply all appropriate charges to your account and give you 30 days to pay the account in full. If not paid within that timeframe your account will be sent to my collection attorney. I tried to prevent this from happening , but I can tell by your last email it's all business at this point. Great company, honest prices, timely service.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this company and it's owner (J. Tari) was so despicable I felt I had to share. We signed a service contract with Bugmasters in Virginia Beach and after about a year ended up relocating to another state. I emailed the company letting them know we were moving and requested that they discontinue our service. Several months later I received a bill from Bugmasters (which had been forwarded by USPS to our new address). We subsequently contacted the owner J. Tari and were told that we were still obligated to pay for the service as he supposedly never received our email and even if he had, the fine print in the contract required a very specific notice process which we failed to follow. Ironically, I eventually learned that Bugmasters never even treated my property in the day in question but charged us anyway because we were on their route that day. Clearly, my expectation was that he would reverse the charge once I was able to prove that I had in fact sent my email canceling service, especially since they didn't even treat our property that day, but the owner wouldn't budge. I eventually ended up hiring an attorney for the sake of principle which was far more costly than the $350 charge for the service. After never giving me the option of a 1-year contract, I signed a 2-year contract with Jon Tari. The same day my husband informed me that when he talked to him, he said it should have been a 1-year contract based on their phone conversation the night before. I called him back and questioned him on why he didn't give me the option of a 1-year contract. Jon Tari stated that he felt like it was always a better deal to do a 2-year contract so that's why he didn't mention it. He offered to let us just do the one-time service and tear up the contract or we could convert to a 1-year. I told him I would get back to him within a day. My husband and I decided we would convert to a 1-year. I emailed him to let him know. It wasn't until a few days later when I didn't hear form him, that I realized the email I replied to from his business, was a "no reply" email. I then called him and left him a voicemail explaining the delay in my response. He returned my call. I told him what we wanted to do and that I wanted my husband on the contract because this joker liked to throw that around and taunt you with the fact that he didn't have to talk to my husband because he wasn't on the contract. He stated we both had to be home and I said we would get back with him to set up a time we were both home. I'm home all the time but my husband's is not. I asked my husband to reach out to him and set up the time they were both available. Jon did not return the first call. So my husband called again and Jon told him he would get back to him within an hour. He never called him back. At that point, we were over this week long saga and decided we would take the other option he offered with a one-time service fee and tear up the contract. I called Jon Tari and he exemplified what all of these previous negative reviews discussed. He became very hostile and kept interrupting everything I would try to say. I explained why we wanted out and he became extremely angry, unprofessional, and he went back on his word. He also tried to make me out like I was the one in the wrong. He was the one that conveniently left out the 1-year option talking to me. I told him that I completely understand why he had so many horrible yelp reviews and he ended the call with "Welcome to a 2-year contract!" Don't trust this joker for one-minute and couples don't let only one of you sign the contract because then he will use that against you. We have been using Jon for over 5 years for our entire farm, he does our barn and out buildings as well! He is VERY professional and has always come the second he was needed! He came recommended by a close friend, with a disclaimer that he is racist and a pervert, so to make sure my husband is the only one to deal with him. The first time he came, my husband entered into his one-sided contract thinking, no big deal, we'll use him for the year and then cancel. My husband paid him $150 cash for the initial service, and signed for an additional three quarterly visits at $100 per treatment. He was to spray around the parameter of our house to keep pests from getting in. After knowing my husband for only 10 minutes, he starts telling him about all the women he has railed, and starts dropping N-bombs. My husband just shrugged it off. The next time he came, he just showed up without calling. Luckily my husband was home and was able to pay him cash again. This was in October 2014. The next time we heard from him was in April 2015. My husband was out of town and I had just gotten home from a 24 hour duty on the ship. There was a note in the door which stated that he sprayed the parameter and we owed $100. This is where it gets tricky...3/4 of the parameter he reported to have treated and billed us for doing so, was behind a 6 foot privacy fence that we kept locked at ALL times due to living on the side of a very busy road. When my husband returned from out of town, he called him to question this. He put him on speaker, and I recorded the call. My husband started by saying "oh I saw that you came by and sprayed all around the house" Jon said yes he had. Next my husband said "how did you get through the gate to do the back of the house?" Immediately Jon said "oh yeah, I'll come back to finish it" my husband said, no thank you because you just lied to me and I don't trust you now. Fast forward to July 2015, we hear a knock on the door. By the time my husband got to the door, Jon was getting into his truck to leave, but not without leaving another note stating he once again sprayed the parameter with $100 past due, $100 for service written in. My husband and him exchanged words and he was instructed in person not to set foot on our property again. This was the last time we heard from him until August of 2017. We had transferred again to Rhode Island. My husband received and email from a Rebecca Nixon, which stated they had attempted to reach him numerous times to collect a debt. There was an invoice attached, addressed to only me, with a list of late fees dating back to 2015 with dates that didn't even match the dates of service and for a total of almost $900! I emailed this Nixon lady back and explained how Mr. Tari was told in two separate occasions after lying about and trying to bill us for service that he didn't complete that we were all done with him, and I would to make an agreement without either party having to take legal action. I was told that she couldn't speak to me because my husband signed the contract, even though the bill was addressed to me and ONLY ME! My husband tried to contact without and response. March 2019, we receive a notice in the mail to go to court. We went in April, got continued to July, and then to October because we filed a counterclaim. We had to travel from Massachusetts 3 times!!! Well, we didn't have to pay him a dime, and while we didn't get reimbursed for our travel, he does have to pay our court costs! If you have used him and he takes you to court, GO AND FIGHT IT!!! He likes to wait until he finds out you have moved out of state too, so find a way and FIGHT IT! Absolutely do not use this company. When contracts are cancelled, he claims they are not and sells your information to collection agencies and creates false invoices. The owner of this company is extremely scary and his mood changes so rapidly you don't know who you're talking to. He will never stop "bugging" you if you ever had a contract with him. This clown came to our property and I told him I was sensitive to poisons and wanted none in the house. He found one ant on an outside window ledge and wanted to spray poison INSIDE the house. When I tried to stop him, he wanted to fight me and started insulting me because the house belongs to my fiancé. He called me an old man and asked what I was going to do about it. 3 weeks later he show up and sprays poison on the glass on the window next to where I am sitting. Then threatened me again when I asked him to please stop. He's been fired now for being unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and steer well clear of this idiot.
