Using the proper diagnostic equipment, Corey examined the venting system, and found that a length of pipe was missing. The area around the exhaust vent was matted with lint. I suspect that I was at high risk of a house fire. The problem wasn't obvious. My house has had several owners, yet the problem was never noticed. Several years ago, I had used them to have the ducts cleaned in the house. This most recent job was for having the dryer vents cleaned. This job was done on June 1, 2022. Having used them before, I knew that they would be good to get back in touch with. I did think about having all the ducts cleaned, but the costs have skyrocketed to near $1000 due to inflation, supply chain issues, etc. Therefore, I have held off for now on having that done again. I had called a few days before the actual appointment to have one set up. They answered very quickly when I called. They were able to get me a morning appointment for June 1, 2022 at 8 am. Fast forward to the scheduled day. They were here just before 8 am, which worked out well. There were two technicians that came to do the work. They would take care of moving the dryer, doing the cleaning, etc. When they came in, they went over what would be done and such. All of it made sense and I just let them do their thing. In about an hour, maybe less, they were done. Everything was put back where it belonged and left it in the same condition as before they started, except that the dryer vent was now clean. Apparently, this type of service is recommended to be done yearly, but it had definitely been longer than that. Looking back, I can understand that since it could be a fire risk otherwise. I definitely don't need that kind of burning desire in the future. The good thing is that we were able to have everything recovered that had been sitting in the dryer graveyard (behind it). Overall, the technicians were professional and efficient. They did very well with the explanation of everything about the process and asked if there were any questions. The service was excellent as always, and I would put it in the sense of the white glove treatment. If you look at their Facebook page, they do look inactive there, but they are still in business. If you are looking to have your dryer vents or air ducts cleaned, I highly recommend them, and also be sure to ask about any specials or discounts.

Long story short, Dana went above and beyond just cleaning the air vent to ensure that our dryer was installed correctly and would be able to be properly maintained in the future. They did far more than what I had initially anticipated they would do! They came out almost immediately after calling and got our dryer back up and running shortly after arriving. With my lung problems I was concerned about how quickly dust accumulated on my furniture. But I knew absolutely nothing about companies that did this kind of work. As if reading my mind I received the monthly envelope of small advertising slips from companies that same day. This one advertised their long length of being in business, which is always something I consider. They offered a whole house inclusive price. So I called them. The first part of my phone call should have been a clue. When I told him I had an upstairs & downstairs Heat Pump he said that would be double. To me that made sense. So I scheduled. When he arrived he checked all the house, checking for ducts, he quoted me a price that was about 10 times what I had been expecting. Showing him their advertising slip, I felt duped when he said "That is just for 3 Vents." Nowhere did it say that or I would have called another company. Since he was here & I needed to have it done, I gave in. He was a pleasant young man and seemed to have done a good job. But from now on I'm tossing that envelope with advertisements in the trash.
