Crunchy seasoned batter and large pieces of cod. No kidding - we had to go 500 miles from Puget Sound to get the best fish and chips this side of Little Chinooks at Fisherman's Terminal! Need to say that the drinks we ample and balanced. We ordered the Huckleberry Mojito and the Bloody and could not have been more pleased! I chose the Hazy Pale Ale and was happy with my choice. Then we ordered a Bavarian Pretzel for the table and it was OUTSTANDING! We each ordered the Cowboy Chicken Sandwich and it was excellent. The sandwich comes with char-grilled chicken breast, southern coleslaw, tangy BBQ sauce, pickled red onion, ob a potato bun. It was excellent. Blackstar is a fun venue with a wide variety of menu items. The food was excellent and the prices what you'd expect.

With pictures and pennants covering the walls and ceilings dating back to the early 1900's this is definitely a cool spot to stop in for a drink or bite.

But from what I was told it was not their decision. Their Soundman decided to display his politics in a very large poster above his station. You could not miss it. When asked about it and told it offended us, he dug in and told us its his right to post his poster In the bar. The owner might not agree. Its also our rights not support a bar that would offend more than half the population. How stupid is that if the business is there to make money. There are a lot of other great places that dont alienating their customers. And the real let down is we were out celebrating our anniversary with friends. The bar that used to be great time really let us down . We all have our political beliefs and I support the right to express it. But I hope the Owners are not that stupid to allow their Soundman to alienate their customers and lose business for them. Let's just have a good time and leave the politics at home. Hard to lose good paying customers , easy to find a new Soundman.

My shrimp was not grilled, lettuce was a wilted and the dressing was subpar. 3 ordered the bolognese which is typically everyone's favorite, and they were all sent back. I tried a bite and honestly have no idea what flavor I was tasting... maybe really bad game, besides the unrecognizable flavor, it was dry with little sauce and less meat and no parm topping. Four ordered Chicken Forestiere and would rate it a 5 or 6. My last guy had the filet with extra veggies which ended up being 3 small carrots. Our server was amazing and didn't charge us for the bolognese. This morning I learned that my eldest was up all night with a very bad stomach. This place has a ton of potential so I hope they can turn it around.
