So do I, because I walked into this place depending on yelp reviews to guide me to the promised land of burger heaven. Instead, I got no coupon, no extra helping of anything, just a bunch of heart burn and ass rape. They use british tarts on the street like whores Jack the Ripper would cut right up with their filthy mouths trying to lure in punters... don't believe the hype and don't buy them drinks. Props to the bartender who made some tasty drinks but the cooks in the back... omfg. Shut the fuck up and cook the food! All we heard was a kitchen in disarray with the cooks going at it telling each other off while we looked on in confusion. Gordon Ramsay, Jesus Christ do they fucking need you! Props to the waiter, dude you were cool. It ain't your fault the place needs a fucking make over. Don't order the nachos; tastes like movie nachos from the states. Don't order the burgers, they took greasy schwarma meat and slapped in on a cold bun. Do order the chip, fries, whatever, and some fucking beer!

So don't always go for the pre set items. Our order: Potatoes - great flavor and they have a spicy sauce on top which I loved Mussels - fresh flavor and the cream sauce is delicious. If you order the tomato bread save the sauce to dip the bread in it Tomato bread- I could have done without but I loved dipping it in the mussels cream sauce Croquettes - they have diff stuffing daily. But if you like the sound of the stuffing definitely get this. The bread crumb crisp finish is delicious Veggie nachos (they also have meat version. It's ground beef and we don't eat that) - nachos were good veggie but not great. Wish they added some actual veggies or even pico. It was just guac, cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños Overall great tapas place but wouldn't have been my first choice

We had planned to go to a tapas place recommended by our Gaudi House tour guide (Touring Pandas…read moreguide Jekaterina who was EXCELLENT) but the joint had a line of 20+...so we chose to go to my plan B! We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

Everything was just so so, nothing memorable or tasty. The rose had one option and was not good. Pass on that. Service was wonderful. We went around 5:30p and there was no wait.
