Soon the supervisor asked about some other possible trimming of palm trees in our front yard, we agreed since the pricing was favorable! All and all, great experience. Have used them several times to trim our trees, including a much treasured Japanese maple. Before, they did an OK job even though the camphor was lopsided. This last time, they ruined both Japanese maples by trimming the top as if they were hedges. There was no pruning of the internal branches. Would definitely not let them touch your Japanese maples! Their website states that a certified arborist is always on site during the job. Unfortunately, this is just not true. I would highly recommend Buena Vista Tree Service. I just had 4 trees (2 large) topped and thinned. From the estimate done by Juan who showed up ON TIME to Crystal who did the scheduling and confirmations of my appointment, everything was great. Mario and Crew #1 showed up ON TIME on the appointed date and worked quickly and efficiently. Another hauling company agreed to take the job for a price that seemed too good to be true. It was. They never showed up and I was left with a good amount of yard waste that I really needed to get rid of. I informed the owner of the company that my initial plans fell through. Let me add, Buena Vista (BV) sent an estimator after someone already agreed to take the job. He was very professional and still gave me a free estimate on the job even though I informed them about the previous company. Anyway, I sent BV a message on Yelp and they honored the estimate. This was on a busy street, and there were concerns with both potential damage to our artificial turf right next to where the trees were planted, and that power to my home comes very close to where the trees were. We just had Buena Vista perform some tree service for us, and they did a great job! It started with Trex coming out and giving us a proposal based on our list. He was very helpful answering questions and giving us ideas and options. And he was able to give us the proposal via email immediately. Crystal in the office was great with creating the appointment and making sure we were reminded ahead of time, and was very friendly and helpful. The day of the job the crew was prompt, very nice and professional, and worked very quickly. Jesus, the foreman, made sure before they started that we were on the same page with what was going to happen. He had me look at a few things along the way to ensure they were doing what we wanted. At the end, he walked around with me to make sure everything was good. Their work was great- just what we wanted, and they cleaned up well. Overall, we were very pleased with Buena Vista, and would definitely use them again. We had used another tree service last time, and also liked them, but they had used spikes to do the queen palm trimming, and so we wanted to try a company that could do it without the spikes this time. Buena Vista came and went without our knowledge. Also, they went into our backyard without permission. The quote did not reflect the work we wanted done. They carefully planned the tree cut down angle and within a few minutes had the tree down. Buena Vista Tree Service were up in my Sequoia Redwood trees this morning without having asked permission to enter my property, the mess they left behind is absolutely appalling. Very disappointed that they would trash my redwood grove and then leave a huge mess for me to clean up. Some of the branches are too heavy to lift by myself! After a long day at work, I'm just sickened. Update.... the next day my husband noticed their truck in the court, he let them know that we did not appreciate them entering our property without our permission and the mess was unacceptable. Obviously, there's nothing they could do about the trespassing, but they did immediately clean up to my husbands satisfaction.
