We have been using Preferred Tree Services for close to 10 years and still happy with the results! We found them by riding our bikes down the Iron Horse Trail and saw the crew up in a tree and asked for a quote. The rest is history. They even responded to our neighbors tree when it fell down during a wind storm a few years ago. We have two Dutch elm trees in our backyard that need a trim every 2-3 years. With the rains this year, the leaves/branches were dense and hanging over our string lights. We received a fair estimate and scheduling was two weeks out. I perform safety observations at my day job and what I liked was there was a pre-scope with the lead and foreman prior to starting work, the crew had a tail gate meeting and everyone knew what to do to get the job done safely. From proper harnessing to barricading and wearing the right PPE for the job and using their tools safely, as well as watching for traffic since their trucks/trailer were in our court. Having just purchased a new home, I was in search of someone to remove a birch tree and trim back a Palm tree, Japanese Maple and random assorted bushes in my new jungle-of-a backyard. Because it was a large job, I got several quotes but decided to go with Preferred Tree Service because their price was in the middle of the bids, and I liked the owner who had much information about each tree and suggestions for the health and longevity of them. Sometime about midnight, a tree in our new front yard decided it was time to give up the ghost. I had noticed it was shifting with the wind. Luckily, it naturally leaned away from the house, and it fell in the front yard at a time when no one was passing by. Steve and his crew at Preferred Tree Service have been the only positive experience from a backyard project to put up a fence and batting cage for my boys. I started looking for contractors back in Sept to have project done by baseball tryouts in December. So far, Preferred Tree Service is the ONLY part of the project that has done what they said they would do. Not only prompt and on schedule, they were efficient and looked after my property. This is huge as many of the areas they protected aren't perfect and some could assume another scrape or chip wouldn't be a big deal. As a family on disability and budget constraints, we have to make the best of what we have to keep it looking as good as we can until a few more years pass and we can do those projects too. The "Preferred Crew" was so cautious and also kept me informed the entire time without me having to stand and watch them. They are true professionals. While they were here, I asked if they could cut down one other tree. "Sure" was the answer and the price was right! Far less than if I had them come back. Nonetheless, they had to come back (and was originally estimated to do so) because a huge pepper tree had grown into the chainlink fence. We are also along a cemented arroyo and not having a fence with a dog in the yard made for tricky scheduling. Again, Steve was awesome at scheduling and making things work with his crew even though my fence contractor didn't meet expectations and couldn't complete the work we had discussed. Steve came back in and did above and beyond expectations for not only grinding the one big tree stump, but grinding the entire fence line with 5-6 privets and extensive ivy roots etc. If I had to ding for anything, it would be scheduling the return visit for stump grinding. I didn't hear back so followed up after a few days and then got immediate response to help.. so that would be a 1/2 star deduction but so made up for it.
