Oops. We went back, and were ready to buy. The manager actually RAISED the price, and then started cussing at my husband. The salesman was very nice, and very apologetic, but it was over when the cussing started. We left in a hurry. I purchased a truck from a lot in Grants Pass the next weekend, for the same price, cash. The Grants Pass lot was estatic..... We'll never go to Budget Auto Center again, and recommend against it, unless you feel like paying an extra $1,000 or more for your car, and dealing with intimidation along with the deal. read more

Bought a car and went on my way. With in a month it starts leaking oil everywhere. Contacted them and I course it was all checked before I bought it. They were so called nice enough to give me 200 for a warranty on a part. Sounds great but bill was $1000. A month later it does it again. 300. 2 months later again. My shop points out a crack in the transmission that was epoxyed. But of course they know nothing. Needless to say I did not do last 2000$ repair and traded it in for a $4000 loss. They would have traded it in for something else on their lot for a loss if I wanted but do I trust them after that? No read more

I purchased a vehicle from Budget Auto Center. 1 week after I bought it the check engine light came on. I called, I stopped in there and every time I got the run around. They knew that they sold me a car with horrible problems. 2 weeks after I bought it the dash gauges all fell. I have had to put a new muffler, a new manifold and the topper is that the engine valves are all burned and it will not pass smog after only 2 years of owning it. I tried to speak with the owner and all she could say to me is that I was jealous of her designer shades and clothes. Seriously, true story!!! I hope this helps someone in the future. When I heard that Budget Auto will just outright buy your car, I initially assumed that they'd only do so at some super low price. Still though (and thankfully), I gave them a shot. Do NOT.. Under any circumstances purchase a car (Or truck, or anything with a motor that moves people) from this place. I have had nothing but problems with the vehicle I purchased from this joke of a dealership. These guys are the epitome of greasy used car salesmen. They have ZERO knowledge of their inventory and their vehicles are JUNK. I can't even count how many repairs I've had to make to this piece. The head light bulb was TAPED into the socket it belongs in. TAPED! The A/C? What A/C? It worked for about a month. The driver's side door? Oh, it wasn't FULLY BOLTED ON!! The hinge was loose. Talk about a "Full safety check" before purchase. What a joke. These are just a FEW issues I've had with the vehicle I purchased from there. Went looking and happened to see the type of car we wanted however it was far to new and expensive, we tried to back out of the parking lot and the salesman did everything he could to assure us with the amount we had to put down even though our credit was shot he could make it work from our rolled down window. So we decide why not? We go in sit down and after 2 or more hours of him going back and fourth with his boss he comes back with a contract $45.00 more per month than we could do but it was better than the $120 more per month that we started out at. We decide we can swing it, and sign. Fast forward 20 days later, we get a call from the boss saying well we couldn't find you anyone that will finance you but for 1500 more down we can do it for $300 per month we said no. He calls back and says if you give us $1000 more we can do $290 No again is the answer, he calls back and asks for $500 to $750 more to lower it another 10 bucks per month. We say no and he says bring it back. So we take it back and the boss asks for the keys and we ask for our $3600 down we gave him and he says oh? You had a down? We'll I don't have cash and my lady that writes checks isn't here till Monday so we tell him we will see you Monday. He acts a little pissy but we leave. We did manage to get our down back but apparently this is a scam called yo Yo'ing (Google it) They have 10days by law to get a hold of you to bring the car back if financing is not approved otherwise it's the dealers responsibility to finance your car per the signed contract deal. 20 days is a little long to pull something like this and when he was asked why he waited so long to contact us he said he wasn't available for the last 5 days. My first impression of the Budget Auto Center was pleasant, I was quickly greeted by one of the salesman and had a cordial conversation as we discussed exactly what I was looking for and what my price range was. The salesman showed me around the lot as I viewed various vehicles and asked questions. After noting a few vehicles I was interested in, I said goodbye and promised to be back in a few days. Two days later, I came back to Budget Auto Center and sat down with a different salesperson than I did previously. We started filling out paperwork to get an initial credit check and ensure that I qualified for a proper loan. During that time, I laid out my price range clearly and clarified that I did not want to go over this price range. I was shown a couple cars and decided to test drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was attractively priced. The eclipse was nice but I was not interested in it. Then I decided to test out a 2004 4X4 Nissan Exterra and I really liked it. It drove very well and was comfortable,but it was out of my price range and was more than I was comfortable in spending. As we pulled back into the lot, he kept asking me if I was "happy with the car", I said yes and thought nothing if it. The salesman took this as if I was going to purchase the vehicle. Once we get out of the car, we sit down in his office to go over the price of the vehicle and the payments. He worked out a price which was much higher than I was willing to pay and kept insisting that I could "make the payments". I clarified that I was not willing to spend more than XXXXX and I asked him if he could do anything else on the price. He pulls the old " Let me go check with my manager" and leaves me waiting for a good 20 minutes. When he comes back, the vehicle price has been reduced, but not within my price range. I state that the price is not within my range and that I had scene a comparable vehicle at a local lot for quite a bit less. Immediately he quips that what i said was not true. When I refused to purchase the vehicle at the price stated, even though I could " make the payments", he angrily suggested that I should go to the other lot and buy their vehicle. As I am leaving, I felt frustrated that the salesperson kept pressuring me to buy because I could make the payments. THEN HE DECIDED TO PUT THE ICING ON THE CAKE! Right when I am about to pull out of the lot, he comes running up behind me and stops me. He says in a FAUX friendly manner that he is willing to take another grand off of the last price we discussed, but this was still out of my price range! I politely declined and drove off knowing that I would not be purchasing from Budget Auto Center. read more

I have bought two of my cars from Budget. The salesmen are nice and knowledgeable, and were able to take what I thought I wanted into what I really wanted at a price I could afford. They had a big selection (two car lots). I would definitely recommend them, and will go back to buy my next car! read more

omg! This place will rip you off! Dont go Here..! I bought a truck from here. they said that they check all trucks and cars. But this truck has lots of problems starting with the tranny it started going out 2 days after I bought it.I told them about it and it took 5 days to to send it to a tranny shop they sent it to one shop and he could not figer out what was wrong. So they sent it to another shop and the total to fix it was $600.00. So I talk to budget and they made me pay half. so after giving them 5,000 dollars I had to pay 300.00 more dollars. And now 6 mounths later it is doing it again. That is just the tip of problems. also if they have new tires on them beware! The one I bought had 2 new tires on the truck I thought yes! but They just put them on there because The alinement was out on it I had it looked at and because the 4x4 there is more to fix then the alinement. Buyer beware!! My daughter and her husband bought a F-150 here three years ago and of course they financed it and the title went to the finance company and they never saw it. Well to their surprise when the went to trade it in on a newer vehicle from Lithia Dodge in Medford, OR they were told it had a SALVAGE title. This little tidbit (very costly) was never disclosed to them as required by California law from this dealership. Of course they lost approximately 4k on the trade. We bought a vehicle from budget two years ago. Three days after our purchase the engine light came on with multiple codes. What that means is this vehicle had problems before we bought it and they sold it to us that way by erasing the codes. Does that sound honest to you? We have had to put in more than five grand on a vehicle that we paid thirteen for in a two year period. Once they have your money they just don't care. We just bought our second car from Budget. We traded a car and a motorcycle and budget gave us a fair price for both. We decided to ask for the same salesman who sold us a truck last year. Mike is polite, professional, and knowledgable on all the vehicles he sells. We are really happy dealing with Budget Auto and we will be buying from them and recommending them in the future. Mike is a great salesman and has ordered extra keys, floor mats, and other accessories for us at lower costs. He is one of the main reasons we came back to shop at Budget he followed through on everything and calls every few months to make sure we are still happy with our purchase. read more

The car looked good from inside and out but it was a hunk of **** when getting onto freeway tranny slipped 2 separate times, highway driving it shimmed at 50mph +, more and more things we noticed that had problems. Said they would get the Best Deal & Lowest Payments and get the down payment Lowered. never happened!! just like you we plunked down alot of money and never ever worked with me to make things lower and affordable. This is the worst dealership we have ever been to. We did most of the discussing over the phone, told the man what we had down, where we wanted the payments to be and he said oh yeah we can make this happen for sure. We drove the three hours down, went straight to the car lot and he acted like a tweaker on some good drugs. He told us that he was swamped and his boss stepped out so we would have to come back later, we said we will just hang out. Then he made a phone call to his boss and his boss told him we had to have more than double the down payment and that was our only choice. Mind you this would've only been around a $13,000 loan. My fiance asked if we could see the car before we made that decision, the salesman acted like he had no clue where the car was and stated "that's the problem". At this point we felt this was extremely shady. He told his boss on the phone how swamped they were and he needed him back ASAP. At that point we had enough, we got in the car to leave and because he was so SWAMPED he lit a cigarette and walked over to the gas station next door. RIDICULOUS!
