We have taken our puppy here a few times now for daytime boarding. It is in a convenient location and I like that you can show up last minute to drop off for daycare. I LOVE this place! My dog seems pretty fond of it, too :-) The staff is absolutely great, every time I've gone to pick my pup up, there's always one person per area, playing with the dogs. It's also obvious that they genuinely love working with dogs all day long- I've never encountered anyone in a bad mood there! They have outdoor space, with a kiddie pool, astroturf, and a hose- great for the summer months. The owner is really wonderful and is often there. Their customer service is above and beyond awesome, too :-). I take my dog here for daycare and the occasional overnight, and know that he's in good hands there. I love this play. I just moved here with my pup from Texas and let me tell you, I've been really worried about how he'd handle it. We came from the land of big open spaces and clean creeks to...well, to NYC. Since my 70lb dog is forced to tackle apartment life, I wanted to find a good doggy day care so he could run around and play 1-2 days during my work week. It was quite a task. Luckily, I found Buddy's. I really like their outdoor area with the play equipment and doggy pool they bring out sometimes. Most other places I found were just one large indoor room the dogs played in all day. The only thing I wish is that I knew what my dog was doing all day -- some places have webcames -- but I think I'll live haha. read more

Trek loves Buddy's! We've done everything here from daycare to boarding, and never had a bad experience. They're very flexible and offer a lot more than just daycare, from half day's to quick in-home visits (I live very close by), the answer is rarely no. The dogs are always supervised very closely by multiple knowledgeable and caring staff. Boarding is never a problem and Trek does very well here when I need to leave for a few days--there's always someone on duty for boarding. The prices are very reasonable and most often beat any other services out there. Grooming is also a huge plus... it's great to come back to a clean and good smelling dog! The hours are perfect and include weekend daycare. Above all, the staff is wonderful here. I would recommend Buddy's to anyone! read more

Love this place!! My dog loves this place and so does his roommate. The staff is very nice, they greet us and know who we are. They are really good with working with you when you're in a bind also. They give me updates about my huge lap dog as well. I've been bringing my dog here for probably a little over a year. I recommend this place to everyone that asks me where I board him. I use them weekly for daycare. When I take my dog there he runs in and doesn't look back at me (kind of makes me sad) but that's a good sign he loves it there! So far so good with Buddys. I have recently become a dog owner, and now that I have a job I'm about to start soon, I wanted my new friend to be able to hang out in daycare when I'm not around. In addition, I was looking for a groomer. The nice thing about Buddys is that you can kill two birds with one stone, every two weeks I ask for my dog to be bathed as part of the day and when I get her back she's dry and smells great. Coat is so soft as well. I'm reserving the 5th star until I get a good amount of time with these guys in, but like I said in the beginning, so far so good. read more

For a happy cut, Buddy's does the job! We have two pug-tzu's (pug / shih tzus) who need quarterly attention and Buddy's grooming services always does a stand-up job!. Our dog's come home looking clean, smelling great, and feeling happy, having a pep in their step. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and upfront with answers to questions asked, which is HUGE compliment for any company's customer service standards. I would gladly recommend Buddy's grooming to any dog owner, as we've always been satisfied with the "teddy" or "puppy" cuts ordered. I love the staff here, they are nice to my dog and he loves them - they have a good groomer who does the bath and de-shed, make sure you bring cash to tip her. The boarding is very flexible and this place is where I leave my dog when I must travel out of town without him. I never worry that he isn't safe or taken care of. THey follow all instructions with food, meds etc. They have staff there 24-hours and all the other dogs are nice too. For a small extra fee they can walk the dog outside on street with leash (but there is a yard so dogs can go in or out as they please inside the facility!). They clean it all the time & it smells like cleaning fluid but that's good because usually there are ten dogs here -- but during the holidays, crowded. They also have a lot of treats and snacks for sale. The billing is fair and transparent. Obviously I'd rather have my dog never come here but I can't afford a $60/hour handler to live in my home while I'm gone, I'm not a billionaire, so this daycare and boarding is a godsend. This daycare...is phenomenal. Took my older Shepherd there and he had a blast. He has had some pretty awful experiences with daycares before but he loved this place. They post lots of photos on facebook. The staff is great with the dogs and unlike some other places in the area, it doesn't stink. Plus, you can watch them play with the dogs. They have an awesome backyard area for the dogs to play in and they even put in a kiddie pool for them in the summer. Cannot praise these guys enough. A friend of mine also brings her dog there for daycare and he has a blast. read more

My dog went to an event here, and the space was great! The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and I was really impressed with how clean and open it was. Their backyard is amazing. The only redeeming quality of this place is the staff being so sweet and kind to my dog. They are very nice people, I just think they have no idea what a good haircut looks like for a dog. Since their old groomer left I've been giving them second chance after second chance but they let me down every time. They did more harm than good for my pup - she came in needing just a tiny trim around her eyes and private parts (which i paid for, just a "touch up") and left with huge mats in her hair around her ears and a shaved nose -- they made a cute dog look genuinely ugly. I had to come home and cut out all the mats and trim her around her face so she looked less crazy. Its a good thing she is just a puppy and her hair will grow back... Buddy's staff is super nice but I will never bring her back. read more

Really fantastic place. I've never boarded my dog before I left her here for Christmas and New Years. It was a long stay but she seemed extremely happy when we got home, tired and totally well taken care of. When I took her in for daycare today she was excited to go it and pulled me to the door. She is pretty upset usually when I leave her places so that was great to see. I also found out that they put pictures on facebook, I went to look and sure enough found a few of her on there! So awesome and really comforting to know she was playing and happy during her stay. read more

I've been using Buddy's to board my pups for a year or two, ever since another boarding place near my apartment closed, and can't recommend them highly enough! Finding a place to leave your pups when you travel can be super stressful - unlike a restaurant or a hair salon, you're putting your precious pets' health and safety into their hands. One of my dogs has medical conditions so it's especially worrying. But the staff at Buddy's is super helpful, kind and responsive. They've taken amazing care of my two dogs, Captain & Tallulah, and if you live in the neighborhood you should absolutely use them for doggie daycare and boarding. Their prices are also reasonable, and they have a dog bone pool in the backyard *and a cute Instagram account* showcasing playful pups, for what it's worth! read more

Zoe is a very anxious rescue pup and she had taken months to warm up to even being at home with me. The first few weeks at Buddy's she had to be dragged away from me whimpering to go into the back room. The staff was so patient and loving with her that within a couple weeks she was dragging me by the leash to get there in the morning and was so excited to see everybody there that she raced to the door and forgot I was even there. She has so much fun with the other dogs every day that she passes out the moment I bring her home. On top of that, the staff has really taken it on themselves to be her second family and help with her medical treatment and vaccinations. When she got sick and couldn't come to daycare they came by to feed and walk her during the day. They really care about their dogs and helping their customers with their busy schedules. I can't recommend Buddy's Dog Den enough! My dog, Teddy, absolutely loves it here, to the point that I actually think he wishes he could live at Buddy's. He always tries to go in on our walks and does not want to walk home in the morning when he realizes that the walk isn't ending with a day at Buddy's. The staff are all lovely and accommodating. I also appreciate how flexible they are with scheduling. I have been happy with their grooming services and boarding as well. Loved the haircut. Hated the customer service. If you can't hear clearly over the phone you should always double check the customers information. Not only my dogs name was listed wrong when I called to confirm the appointment the worker on the phone had the audacity to argue with me, then I had to ask her what phone number was listed by the name which surprise! It was mine. Shouldn't the worker use their head and ask that first before getting additude? Another thing, when I called to reschedule I was told ok, ok perfect. When I got there it was an appointment for another day! Once again, confirm with the client before okaying everything. Care a little. And since when does the nail clipping happen on the floor while I have to told my dog?? I was covered in the nail filing residue. When I asked are you going to do it here? The groomer just looked at me with the look as if I'm wrong and just gave me a careless yeah. Like I said if it wasn't for the customer service my dogs would be there every 2 weeks. My dog left soaking wet and with bloody paws. I have a 4.5 year old Shiba Inu who has gotten groomed every 2-3 months since I have had him. He requires a muzzle when blow drying because the noise upsets him. Our previous groomer was very patient with him - taking her time to blow dry him on a low setting and taking breaks when it became too much. It takes longer but for 4 years we never had a problem. We recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to try Buddy's. When I arrived i told the worker exactly how my dog needs to be handled in order to be successful. I received a call asking for me to call Buddy's back. I tried calling the establishment for an hour and 15 minutes with no success. Finally I went back there to find out what was going on. The groomer said she wouldn't blow dry him at all, that he was too aggressive, and that he broke a claw struggling with them. They suggested having him medically sedated. I watched them on the room cameras when they went to get him - he was cowering in a corner with his tail between his legs. When I received my dog back he was soaking wet and had blood on both claws. I make no false representation that he is an easy dog to groom - he requires tact, time, and a gentle hand. However, I have never seen him in this state. To add insult to injury they charged me for the whole process. I will never return to Buddys - and I caution anyone who has a dog that requires gentle handling to do the same. read more

Ive been hesitant to write this review because i do not usually write reviews but after my last couple of encounters with this company i feel their improvements were worthy of a 5 star review. I am amazed with the immense growth of this company as far as courtesy, kindness, physical improvements and knowledgeable employees that this company has obtained in last couple of months. I've been to this facility on numerous occasions inquiring about dog day care and training, and also to bring my dog for daycare, I was never made felt like my business nor interest in bringing my dog were important or needed. Several times the "Managers" I've spoken to have brushed me off rushed me out their way and have been extremely short, and rude, although I've noticed when the owner was around these women never behaved this way and I actually just stopped buying daycare packages and just hired a dog walker. Thankfully after my dog walker suddenly moved away I was forced to bring my Princess back in for a random stay and although the " Manager" who accepted my dog in the morning was still there, the service I received when I came to pick my dog up at the end of the night was an amazing improvement from previous experiences she was extremely nice knowledgeable and friendly, and had specific details about my dogs day and demeanor that only a person who took time to check on the dog would know ie: " shes more of a people dog she enjoyed laying on the handler all day; shes a alpha dog and loved to act as the "fun police" and stop the other dogs from playing too rough" I've also had the opportunity to talk with her and another new dog handler when i dropped my dog off for daycare during last weekend and my princess was so happy to see both of them; they gave me great tips on her behavior on leash to reduce her reactivity to other dogs on leash. The facility smells 100x better and i feel the staff is greatly improving and i will be dropping my girl more often ! Great Job Buddys! read more

Our dog really loves it there and I like that they have an outdoor area. The space is much bigger than most dog daycares in the area. The three times I brought my dog here she was separated from the rest of the dogs bc she is larger than them. The last time I picked her up as she was covered in FECES. I called buddy's and told them that she was disgusting and obviously left alone all day sitting in filth and they didn't even offer to reimburse me for the day, they did however offer to have her walk back covered in dog poop so they could give her a bath. No. Go to happy dogs or camp bow wow where there is proper supervision and attention for larger dogs. read more

The staff is incredibly nice, attentive and personable. They are also open till 8pm, which works great with my work schedule. Excellent place to bring your dog. Great, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. I live in a different part of Brooklyn and will travel all the way to Buddy's Dog Den to house my dog just so that he can have a play date. Whenever I have to be out of town, I feel very comfortable housing him there and that's saying a lot because I am a very skeptical parent. There is so much at Buddy's Dog Den for a dog to do and it seems the caregivers give each dog personalized attention. I especially love Kammy, a new groomer there. I brought my dog there about a month and a half ago to get groomed, I was so pleased with the groom, that I brought him back a month later for a touch up and have since fired my last groomer who'd I'd been going to for two years. Kammy really loves dogs and Max--my finicky poodle--can't seem to get enough of her. In fact, all of the employees there seem to be big animal lovers. I wouldn't trust anywhere else with my Max. I boarded my dog India at Buddy's after they first opened last year & have boarded her many time since then and have taken her to doggie daycare numerous times as well. The staff and owner of Buddy's couldn't be nicer and they really do care about each & every pet who enters their doors. My little India comes home happy after ever stay at Buddy's whether it be for daycare or boarding. I can't walk by the place without her trying to pull me in b/c she loves Buddy's that much. I won't mention any names, but I took India to another doggie daycare facility back in '08 and she didn't "pass the test" to be boarded there b/c they said she was too aggressive w/other dogs. The staff there were rude & incompetent & just threw my dog into a room with a bunch of crazy little dogs for 5 mins and then told me India couldn't board with them b/c of her behavior. At the time I was angry, but now I could care less b/c I've got the most awesome daycare/boarding facility only a short walk from my apartment. Thanks Buddy's Dog Den!
