At work I deal with contractors on retail and commercial rehabs, and some ground-up construction projects. Outside of work, I recently had a new home built and to that end worked with 2 architects and 3 contractors. Of all the contractors I've dealt with, the Buckminster Green team stand out for their superior approach to project management and, care for the final product.
I found Buckminster Green through word-of-mouth when a neighbor started telling me how happy he was with the work they were doing on his complete home remodel. His project included converting an old industrial studio space into a beautiful, semi-open floorplan living space with lots of natural light. The job included reuse of industrial materials paired with modern finishes, and they did an amazing job; truly a showcase project.
When I started thinking about moving some walls around to make better use of space on my first floor, my neighbor recommended that I contact Kenny at Buckminster Green. After some conversation we decided to do both the first floor living space and, a full workshop build in my garage. The interior remodel looks fantastic and brings some of the home's exterior design elements into the entrance foyer. My request to use natural wood planks and to have the closet and bedroom doors flush and hidden required that his carpenters custom build special doors with hinges that recess into the frame and pivot on two axis. They pulled off the custom framing, carpentry, millwork and finishing without issue. The end result doesn't even compare to the work done by the previous company that built the house.
Kenny's team also did an amazing job transforming my dirty old garage into a welcoming space for me to spend time woodworking, welding, and tinkering with cars. The design includes heated floors, ample lighting, storage, and all the amenities one could want in a workshop.
Beyond quality workmanship, Kenny's team is organized, clean, and professional. Their project manager communicated clearly in writing throughout the project and, he kept me in line when my change requests were likely to cause the project cost or timeline to shift dramatically from plan. Months after project completion I had some questions and Kenny's team responded quickly and addressed my request.
... Is there anything I'd change about my interactions with Buckminster Green? Yes, I wish I could go back a few years and use them instead of other contractors I selected before meeting the Buckminster team.
