Our experience with Steve and his team has been very pleasant. They were very professional with great customer service. When we reached out for an estimate, they provided us with a free estimate in a timely manner. They looked at the property, took a video of the roof and pointed out all the issues with the roof describing what needs to be done. They gave us a date when the job could be done and completed the job as promised on time. They went above and beyond our expectations. If they saw any issues with the roof/property, they pointed out those as well to make sure we were aware. Initially, we agreed on roof replacement. They told us that the patio roof also was in bad shape which we agreed and asked them to fix it. They did a very good job with the roof as well as the patio. They were very efficient and diligent in what they did. After the job was completed, they followed up and checked with us to ensure there were no leaks from the roof. They also gave us a 3 yr warranty on the roof. Overall, we were very happy with them and would recommend them to anybody who is looking for roof repair/replacement. We had a situation where settlement had occurred under our front porch and it started pulling away from our 100+ year old house. I contacted Steve who came and looked at the porch and offered me a couple solutions. Steve explained exactly what he would do to remedy the situation and suggested that we actually replace the existing flooring and railings since at least part of them were going to have to be removed in order to complete the structural work. It was a great idea because now we not only solved the problem but actually have a virtually brand new porch. I thought Steve and his crew went above and beyond with regard to personal service. He outlined his schedule in getting the job completed. He made personal contact with me every day via phone or text and sent pictures daily of the progress. My house is a Tudor from the 30s, which is probably the last time anyone touched the walls of my laundry room and garage. I got half a dozen quotes. I do not always go with the least expensive but I felt comfortable talking with Steve, who also happened to have the most competitive quote, so that's what I did and I could not be happier with the result. The job ended today and Steve performed beyond expectations: 1) He communicated his arrival and departure without fail. It made everything a lot easier; 2) Like any big job, stuff came up. Dream contractor pretty much sums up Steve Spiro ! Since June, we had reached out to several contractors who didn't return phone calls/emails , or came and said they would give us an estimate but never heard back. Steve got back to me right away. He came on a Thursday to give an estimate and started on the following Monday. And he was done by that Thursday. It took him four days to make our kitchen look like new!!!! Every day he showed up on time with a great attitude and immediately got to work. Keeping us in the loop the whole time. He is very friendly, personable, knowledgeable and affordable. He's a contractor you can trust!! We had two windows covered up in our kitchen, a baseboard put in, the whole kitchen painted, and a beautiful brand new floor put in to replace the old ugly uneven one. When the floor was ripped up there was a good amount of unexpected damage that other contractors, without a doubt, would've charged thousands of dollars for. Not Steve! He got details right and presented flexible options according to my budget. I benefitted from suggestions he offered and at the same time he gave me space to decide every detail with no pressure. His communication style is concise and clear, often attaching pictures of the work as he and his team progressed. Some recent bad weather led me to find two problem areas in my basement. One was a crumbling section in the foundation wall under a crawl space. (A cramped, dark, difficult, and dirty job.) Steve Spiro and his crew know Philly basements. I called him up on closing day to get an estimate on my 100 year-old house, which sported a very creepy-looking basement (complete with old stone walls and a coal chute that opened under the front steps). Steve came out the next day and started the job the following week, completing it in just 4 days. He parged and sealed the stone walls, sealed the hole from the coal chute, stabilized the entryways to the house, and painted the ceiling where plaster was coming loose -- all for a very fair price. It was so reassuring to have the scary basement sealed up so quickly (and now looking much less scary). I would highly recommend Steve to anyone with an old Philly basement that needs work. Steve was very responsive to my inquiries. I needed a contractor with deck experience to replace some rotted joists on the kitchen bump-out of my Mt. Airy rowhome. Steve's estimates were spot-on, and he accommodated my schedule when I needed him to wait a week to start. While there was more work than anticipated by having to tie the joists into the house, they still got the job done on time and on budget. The bump-out is probably more secure now then when first built. I hired Steve Spiro Contracting to find and repair a leak in my laundry room. He took many photos to show me exactly where the leak was coming from and his team did a thorough job at making it water tight and testing the site. They also painted my kitchen ceiling that had water marks from "now fixed" previous leaks. It took 3 coats to completely cover them. He made all the necessary drywall repairs, finishing, and extra details in the laundry room, hallway, and guest bathroom that made for a satisfied customer. I hired Steve for my backyard project that consisted of restoring my deck (replacing boards and rails/staining) and painting wall around deck, steps, and another wall above the deck. I had a basement leak due to water seepage from the top and the walls were humid and moldy. Steve and team came in and did a thorough job of digging a trench outside the basement wall , fixing the porous wall and and installing water proofing membrane as well as applying dry lock in the basement. Along the way, there were a few different leaks that was discovered in the basement and kitchen plumbing and all of them were fixed. Additionally, the kitchen drywall was patched. I hired Steve to fix a leak in a rental property of mine and patch and paint where there had been water damage. Though it was a small job he got to it right away, addressed the problem and finished the job within a week.
