Fries, vegetables, onion rings, or even seafood can all pick up beef fat if they're cooked in that fryer. Second, from a nutrition standpoint, beef tallow is relatively high in saturated fat. My goal is to favor heart-healthier fats, oils richer in unsaturated fats. This would include olive, avocado, or canola oil which fit that goal better. The Fiddlehead was fresh and hoppy so I would say they definitely get their lines cleaned. The inside may be a bit dated and a little dark, but for me the rest of the experience was just fine. Our lunch was reasonably priced and they have a lunch program where you buy 5 lunches and get the 6th free. It never expires so I'll have to visit again!! The bottle shop used to be a must visit and still kind of is. I used to journey up there to find some rarer domestic craft and foreign bottles, but they've scaled back their inventory overall and are a bit more unorganized then they were a few years ago. I hope they get that back up to snuff! Definitely a visit if you're in the area and in the need of decent eats and a good craft beer.
