Holy cow. Amazingly delicious. We got a couple of slices and split a meatball parm. The pizza crust was crisp and the sauce was sweet without a trace of cloying acidity. The meatballs were savory and the bread was light & toasted to perfection. It's a small place - wouldn't recommend if you have kids who can't sit and behave in a quiet setting. Surprisingly good pizza! We ordered a margarita pizza and it was ready within 10-15 mins. No frills very in and out / pick up type restaurant. Crust was good, crunchy enough not too thick but still had some decent chew, tomato sauce was good, cheese was melty but distribution was off in some places. Would consider ordering here again if I needed a pizza quickly. They do not deliver farther than Lambertville, maybe New Hope, as an FYI! read more

I've experienced a lot of different pizzas in my almost-50 years... pizza is kind of my thing. Having read the reviews here, Nicola's went onto my bucket list. I made a special trip there to try it out, thinking it would be good. I'm not one to use superlatives (best, greatest, worst) when I describe things. So when I say this was the worst pizza I ever had (including the Chef Boy-R-D pizza kits my mom used to let me make when I was a kid), I'm telling you it truly was the worst. Nicola's pizza dough was chewy and soggy. The cheese was generous but very runny. Sauce had no flavor. Toppings were too wet and everything just sloshed off the slice, leaving you with a sad soggy piece of pizza crust in one hand next to a wet heap of tasteless cheese & equally tasteless toppings. Blech. They know what they're serving. Did give me a fork & knife to work thru the pizza "slices"? No. Napkins? No. I had to go find utensils and napkins on my own. Throughout my visit, the server seemed annoyed... seemed like they wished they were somewhere else. And I can't blame them. After I started to eat what I bought, I wished I were somewhere else too. I cannot imagine any pizza coming out of here measuring up to the glowing reviews I've read about this place. And I should mention the restaurant is not as big as it looks in the photos here on Yelp. The dining room is quite small, VERY dated, dim, and not very clean looking. While I can now cross this shop off my bucket list, I will say it is memorable in the fact that I definitely won't eat here again. Blech. read more

This place was great. I totally recommend stopping by and checking them out - and grabbing a slice, calzone, or even a full pie. Their Sicilian pizza pie was delicious, and a must try! Their calzone, we did sausage and ricotta on it, blew us away! The sausage was ground on the fine side, which was perfect for us - we have a Infant learning to eat. The ricotta tho... oh my god. The texture was so incredible. You gotta have one of their calzones!!! We got to chat a little bit with the owners as we sat and ate in their lil dining room area and they were really nice. This place is the best pizzeria in town! We've been coming to Lambertville and New Hope for years and kept meaning to stop in here but always got too busy. This trip I was COMMITTED to trying it. It kept calling our name. So today we stopped in and my only regret is that we didn't come in sooner! The pizza was 10/10. Perfect amount of fluffiness in the dough, cheese was fresh and delicious, and the sauce was top notch. Sal, the owner, treated us with such kindness and was super friendly and took the time to chat with us. The service was amazing and everyone was very accommodating. The seating area has a very homey, family feel with a fire place and stone walls. This building has a lot of history to it and you can feel the love in its walls. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back many times to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend this place! read more

The family absolutely adores Nicola's. It's a great small shop. You won't be bowled over by appearances but food is excellent and service is always friendly and welcoming. The dining area is nice and comfy but a little dark. Great for a casual date or family meal. Bathrooms are upstairs which can be a pain for some but the positives out way this. I mean to be honest, that's about the worst thing I can think of, and that's even pushing it. It's a BYOB which we love. Pizza is a NY/ south jersey style. Don't look for Brock oven or coal fired here and that's ok. It's always cooked perfectly. The garlic knots and, I know this sounds weird, French fries and wonderful. I really have a hard time thinking of anything bad about this place. We travel from Philadelphia to go here (a 45 minute drive) and it's worth it. We love this place! The best pizza in the entire area! It has been a few decades since we are back in the area and the food is still as amazing as my husband remembered! We have had the large pizza with sausage, onion and mushroom. The dough was perfectly cooked. The sauce not too overwhelming which allows the ingredients to shine. We also had the buffalo chicken pizza and the plain cheese pizza, they are both on point. We also had the garlic knots. Just a bit crispy on the outside and chewing and soft inside. Perfect afternoon snack. Sal is just the perfect second generation owner who has been faithful to his customers for over 3 decades. This is something we deeply respect as fellow food and beverage business owners. To be on his feet day after day, 10+ hours a day, is a serious commitment. The people who run it could not be nicer, the pizza is thin crust and delicious and (when we can all dine inside again), the side room is warm & cozy. We are from S Jersey but are in New Hope and Lambertville every six weeks or so. For the past several years I have wanted to try Nicola's and we finally did. We went on a freezing day with a high of 19 and sat by the fire. The girls had homemade chicken soup and our family shared a large pie. Everything was awesome. The pizza crust is amazing.
