Pizza

So, we went here because of the high reviews and the 7.5 rating from Barstool sports. We were not as impressed as some others. The place was empty, but it was early and it was a Tuesday, not a popular day for the area. The pizzeria itself was low key and cool to look around in. The server was also very attentive the entire time we were there. We ordered a simple small pizza with mushrooms and meatballs. The size of the pizza was good but it was just ok. The meatballs were burned and the mushrooms were underdone. Didn't taste terrible but I couldn't find a "4" or Dave's 7.5. I'm happy with a 3 and a 6.7.

Excellent food. The tomato pie was to die for and so were the garlic knots. Staff was friendly and place was clean and casual.

Great vibe and absolutely 5 Stars for their pizza and personalities. Giuseppe is a trip! He is absolutely focused on the customer and makes you feel very welcome. Everyone was very nice, they offer 12" and 25" pizza of all varieties, salad, meatless lasagna, beer, wine, soda, mineral water. Meatball hero's, Stromboli and more at fair prices. It's a large space, great for groups, quality food with a great reputation. Was very entertaining. They proclaim to have the best garlic knots in the world. I have not tried them yet. Lol. I highly recommend them if pizza is your thing. They will not disappoint.

Cannoli

I'm suspicious of really high ratings, but Russo's is worthy. We ordered the salad, a couple small pizzas - the Italiano and the Margherita - and a cannoli. First off, the salad just hit the spot. It was fresh and crisp, and the dressing was so good. The pizza is fantastic. The crust is hand-tossed, super thin and crispy, but what really sets Russo's apart is their homemade red sauce. Fresh and flavorful, it was better than any of the red sauces I had on pizza in Italy this past summer. I could drink this stuff. Like everything else, the cannoli was great. The filling was so smooth and not too sweet. It was as good as any I've had in Little Italy. The staff were friendly, fun and constantly on the go. The only thing that makes me sad is that I'll probably never have the chance to eat here again. It's some of the best pizza I've had.

A nice homemade large pizza coming in at a whopping 25"! A mom and pop shop a lil off the main drag in New Hope. It was a bit of a hot day but cooler outside that it was inside. All the window were open but it was still hot in there - probably from the oven inside. We sat next to the fan and AC. The staff was BEYOND nice. Our food came out timely. The Greek salad had plenty of crunchy greens, olives, and feta cheese. The pizza was MASSIVE! It came out perfectly done with the crunchy bottom. The dough was delicious. Though I do wish the toppings would've been spread out more evenly and that the onions would've been more evenly chopped. The sauce was fresh though and had some great flavor. Overall a great experience here in New Hope!

I'll be honest - this place was literally our 10th choice for lunch. My chum and I moseyed into town on Tuesday afternoon at the midway point of a hike to and from Stockton. New Hope is quite a bustling tourist trap on the weekends. Tuesdays? Not so much, and the lack of open restaurants reflected that. We gazed mournfully at a closed wine bar or two but ultimately decided to hold our heads high and walk into what from the outside looked like a pretty generic brick oven pizza place. To be clear, this IS a fairly by the book brick oven pizza establishment, but with a New Hope twist. The seating and atmosphere have an upscale vibe (the seats reminded me of edgy church pews), they serve wine here, and the only part that looked "normal" was the cooking/prep area with the brick oven behind the counter. We were intrigued. The most pleasant surprise came after we decided to each order a glass of white wine and were asked, "What kind?" A promising start. We each got Pinot, but after tasting the wine, I was a little taken aback by how smooth and delicious it was. In an all-time snobby moment, I managed to blindly identify what was actually a gewurztraminer from a nearby winery (if you haven't had it, it's my absolute favorite wine of all time, usually a semi-sweeter wine with a hint of spice. Alba in Finesville, NJ had a fantastic one before they inexplicably decided to stop making it and just included the gewurz grapes in a hybrid blend - don't even get me started). I have literally only been to one other place that has served gewurz by the glass, and it's a gastropub in Jersey City (Hudson & Co - strong recommend). What an unexpected treat. Anyway. The pizza itself was pretty good, though honestly I wouldn't classify it as great. The sauce for me was the weakest part. I'm not crazy about tomato chunks, and it was a little too sweet, not complementing the basil and cheese as well as it could. I'd probably go with a regular cheese next time, but it definitely wasn't bad. We split a jumbo homemade cannoli to wrap this adventure up, and that was phenomenal, easily a top three all-timer for me. What really sets it apart in my view is the fried pastry dough, which has a tendency to be too crispy but this had the perfect consistency. The service was excellent. There was never a point where we were looking around for the waitress for food, the check, etc. Everything was super prompt. Price pointwise, you could make an argument that the pizzas are a little expensive (my eyebrows went up when I saw that some of the large pizzas were over $30) but we comfortably split a small for about $15, and it was more than enough. I think small and large might be super subjective terms in this case, and the scrumptious gewurz was less than $9 a glass. Good luck finding a cheaper alternative in this town. I don't know if you can classify any restaurant on the main drag in New Hope a hidden gem, but this one is kind of on the outskirts and worthy of attention.

Cheese pizza with artichoke, mushroom, roasted pepper

Great place to get pizza with the family! Lots of tables, friendly staff, welcoming and clean space! They have a GIGANTIC pizza; we picked some toppings and had some to take home as well :)

Large 25" pizza (half cheese, half margarita)

BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD!!! Russo's is such an amazing place and I'm sure to come back again! The chef is such a nice man, and the staff are very kind. They have amazing taste in music and the inside is nice and warm, especially on a cold day. This is also some of the biggest pies I've ever seen. 5 stars!

Pepperoni pizza

Delicious! We all enjoyed our lunch so much and will definitely be back again. Great, attentive service and friendly atmosphere.

You cannot go wrong with an overly sized DELICIOUS pie of 'za. We came here on a Thursday night where they had a live band welcoming us at the door. The music was a great touch! We ordered a large pizza (because whyyyy not) with half margherita and half white - highly recommend. Love that Russo's was able to do half/half, especially with this combo, because many pizza places won't. The slices were enormous so we had ample to bring back home and throw in the freezer for a rainy day! Other things that we loved included: the service, BYO, and wine menu! It's about a block or two away from the more populated side of New Hope so it's easier to find street parking, and there's also a metered lot in the back!

My Eggplant Parm Sub was well made with plenty of thin sliced and sautéed nightshade, mozzarella and good red sauce in a toasted long roll. Taste great and quite filling. At just under $12., the price did not seem to reflect recent restaurant inflation. I enjoyed consuming it across from the stone fireplace, even though there wasn't a fire burning at the time. I ordered a large margarita pie to pick up after Googling for a wood fired pizza. When I picked it up, the person at the counter took the pizza out of a standard pizza oven. I asked if it was made in the wood fired oven that I could see in the other room and she said "No". I told her that I only came here because the name of the restaurant on the street sign states "Wood Fired". She replied that I didn't tell her that I wanted a wood fired pie when I ordered and that they only made medium pies in the wood oven. I realized that this discussion was going nowhere, I paid for my order and left. I'll say that the standard oven pizza was very good, but not what I came for. Regarding the ambiance, the bar and the dining room didn't look like the environment I would want to spend time in. So the take away is, if you order from here, make sure to specifically state that you want a wood fired pizza.
