Great place to watch Duck sports if you don't get that crappy Pacific 12 network. Watch out for those Duck Farts.

Not a huge beer drinker but I knew they had my Chimay Trappist Grande Reserve that I like. I brought this over to the bar so I could enjoy with a menu item. This was the first time I was asked if I wanted my Chimay in a tulip glass. Of course I do, that's the way it is traditionally served. Next I decided to try their burger. I don't even get a choice as to the degree of doneness that I would like my burger. Well done equals dry and flavorless. The pretzel bun the burger was on was extremely chewy as if it had been microwaved. I opted for cheddar cheese, which brought the price of my burger meal to over $20 for a slightly below mediocre burger. Typical lettuce, tomato, pickle and small slice of onion as a topping. I opted for seasoned fries as the side and they were mediocre as well. Still searching for a truly good burger that is worthy of a $20 price point.

Just moved to town just a little over a month ago and decided to check this place out…read more First off the owner Bart is a real kind and down to earth fella. Really nails that small town vibe. One of the Bartenders, Jennifer is a real sweet gal and she works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. I wasn't planning to eat but the feller sitting next to me ordered a good looking burger, but I was feeling chicken so I tried the blackened chicken sandwich and by golly it was sure fantastic. The tater tots are seasoned up real well and the chicken was full of flavor, layered with bacon. The bar itself is clean, well organized, with plenty of space. The stage hosted a man with a guitar that evening and he put on quite a show. Dart board upstairs is a fine addition . This is a smaller town watering hole done right. A great place to wind down after a long work week.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

I also got their colcannon. It was great! Creamy and delicious. I ordered their brown gravy too because I like gravy with my potatoes and it was hearty and a big side for the price. All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!

Oregon knows beer. Oregon does beer…read more Oregon does beer really, really well. Drop Bear is tapping some outstanding local craft beer with global appeal. In an area of the world that is close to some of the best hops production, it is no surprise that they are tapping some fresh IPAs and hazys and making them really sing. Those grassy, citrusy notes always hit differently when you know the hops have been recently harvested. Myself, I generally prefer malt over hop, so I opted for a tall glass of their Ruby Roison, an Irish red. And whoa, dude, was that a sensational glass of bier! Very subtle with the hops and had those caramel-ish notes as soon as I took the first sip. My adventure buddy (and resident Duck) knocked back a Squeeze Boxx, a pronounced hazy IPA with a fabulous citrus profile and very little bitterness from the hops. Both pints did not last long, and when we paired them with a plate of Roly Poly (think pesto-y breadstick) they were perfect. Look into Drop Bear. Lots of their dishes are vegan, and their flavor profiles are phenomenal, both beer and food. There's some seating out front along Willamette, but the real winner is how much space they have inside. And check them out during their happy hour (open until 5:00) where you can get pints for a discounted price. Throw in some really knowledgeable staff, with events always posted on their socials, and you've got a pretty good spot to visit.

The hamburgers are large, the ground beef they use is good quality and they are more like a Smashburger rather than a thick hamburger. The buns used are perfect for me. They are delicate but sturdy enough to hold the sandwich together, tasty and not overpowering. I like the way the kitchen places, the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles in a small pile next to your burger so you can add any or all of it to your burger. The servers also bring out ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing to add your burger if you choose. I like all hamburgers so this burger goes in my top five list. All of the servers are great and they make you feel like an old friend rather than a customer. If you like burgers, this is a must try place!

The most recent visit I had the bbq cheeseburger, and a cup of chili. They were good, but nothing I would rush out here for. My guy loved his breakfast. I think he liked his meal more than I liked mine. Now, I have to tell you guys I have been having a hard time with my taste buds since having Covid in late 2023-2024. It has altered the taste on some things. So if something doesn't taste right, or good to me any more, I have my guy taste things now. And he says they taste great. I can't eat bacon because of this issue, and I think this could be why I thought my burger was just okay, even though I did take it off. So please come try this place for yourself if you are out this way. The people are nice.
