I guess I overestimated what an Asian rice bowl coming from a pub in a small town would be like, but it was much too sweet, salty, and overly sauced to the point where it was like eating a bowl of wet rice. I am not a picky person and will usually eat things that aren't my favorite for the sake of not wasting food, but I really struggled with this. I hate writing bad reviews because I know owning a restaurant is hard, but that is my honest opinion about the food. Warning: if you have dogs, there is a huge vine of grapes attached to the fence of the outdoor seating area out front. We moved to a dingy side area to avoid the possibility of our dogs eating a grape. There were cobwebs under the table and a man walked around us to spray pesticides on the weeds in the concrete, while we were eating and while our dogs were standing there. It's a very rustic environment with wood panels and log walls with a couple of pool tables and some slots gaming available. This is not a hard liquor pub. This is a beer and food establishment with pool and gambling, adults only though, no minors. So we settle on a table and order up some food. The onion rings are very crispy and not at all greasy or oily. They are cooked to a perfect bite, meaning the whole onion doesn't slide out of the battered ring, just a nice clean bite of a crispy onion ring. The western burger is delivered open faced so you can put on your own amount of lettuce onion and tomato and pickles that come on the side. The bacon is a generous amount and very crispy and the cheese is nicely melted. The bun is lightly toasted and all in all this burger holds together very well. The house cut fresh fries are exactly that, freshly sliced potatoes cut into fries. They also bring out of the cooler several squeeze bottles of mayo, mustard, ketchup, ranch and barbecue sauces. These are brought out fresh from the cooler, not left out to get warm all day. This place still has the staff smiles and comfortable atmosphere that I use to know.
