Well we needed to fill up the tank anyway, so we decided to make our maiden visit to the infamous Buc-ee's that every road tripper 'has to do'. There were at least 60 gas pumps, and virtually drove right up no waiting. There's only one entrance, so be be wary of where you park in the gargantuan shopping center sized parking lot to go inside. Be prepared for a Black Friday like mob when you enter, really. It did appear to be a super Walmart inside, until you get to the food area, which was huge. The food preppers were efficiently making and wrapping sandwiches and placing them in the grab and go section. I wasn't really hungry, but read about the famous chopped brisket sandwich, so I got one. I like the way they time stamp the wrapper with a 2 hour expiration time. I can say it was a decent brisket sandwich, which was on a simple hamburger bun, so there's no filling squishing out when taking a bite. The brisket was chopped chunky, not too much fat, tender and tasty, with just the right amount of bbq sauce. Lots of checkouts, so we didn't even have to wait at all. Bathrooms are very clean and stalls are spacious. The store did actually look like a Walmart inside, with lots of retail merchandise, not appearing intended for travelers, so locals must shop here. I couldn't deal with the chaos, and didn't even look around. So there, been here now, and done that! read more

Never been to Buc-ee's. I had my mouth wide open the whole time I was walking to the store. This entire establishment is massive. Busiest gas station I've been to in my life. Stepping inside the store was like being on a rodeo show... WOW. It was so busy it's hard to push a cart around especially in the deli/food section. My mom had to wait at the toy section with the kids while I went into battle with 10 thousand people trying to grab a brisket or pulled pork sandwich. Ordered chicken tenders and fries at the kiosk, took 5 minutes. Fries is seriously good. Also grabbed a few unicorn stuffed animals for my daughter and a friend's daughter. Jerky selection is IMPRESSIVE. Did not order any but I stood in front of the display for 5 minutes in awe. Supercharger at the front end of the the parking lot. Too bad no buc-ees in Florida yet. read more

Made it a point to stop at bucees on our road trip and we were not disappointed! The bathrooms are so clean and there was so much to look at. All the food I tried was way above average for gas station food. The cinnamon roll was by far my favorite item. It was overwhelming how crowded the food areas were but that's expected. read more

Absolutely love Buc-ee's! Yes, we're drinking the water of the cult. For the first time tried the jerky and wow it's very good. Love the texture and taste not too chewy or tough. I was told I could find everything at Buc-ees so I had a mental list. They had none of the items. Still, I was blown away by what they did have. Fudge? Got it. Fresh made brisket sandwiches? Yep. Tacos, baked goods, sauces, seasonings and beef jerky? You know it. What about stuffed animals? There is no way right? They do. What I loved about Buc-ees was the cold brew bar. I could choose my cup size, fill it with as much (or as little) ice as I wanted, pour in the cold brew and then add whatever flavorings and milks I wanted. Alternative style included barista oat and almond milk. Price? Way less than a coffee shop. My disappointment with Buc-ees was I wanted something vegan to eat outside of your typical gas station fare. I found a veggie burrito that looked promising. I scanned the ingredients list (thank goodness they included that). Chicken fat in a veggie burrito? But why... Anyways, Buc-ees is an experience everyone should have. I think I may have been spoiled by the much larger and more efficently run Leeds Alabama location but the Florence SC Buc-ee's is very small in comparison to Leeds and as a result is EXTREMELY overcrowded during daytime hours. The lines (although the employees do their best to move lines along) are 12 to 14 persons deep at the registers and we actually had to give up on getting fuel as each pump was either taken or had aggressive folks jockeying for position to get fuel. read more

For some this franchise is all the rage these days. We stopped by to check it out. It appears to be a bit of a variety store like a sampling of Walmart with brand offbeat fast foods somewhat akin to a Cracker Barrel but different and, features more than a dozen gas pumps outside in a massive parking lot. Some items are expensive, for example beef jerky almost $30 a pound. Other items were inexpensive. This is a brand-new facility: pretty impressive. read more

Today was my first visit to Bucees. I was SO excited to visit! When I pulled in immediately noticed the dog park area. There were several people and I thought it looked really nice and presentable. I found a parking spot quickly and went in line to snap a pic with the statue of Bucee. It was absolutely packed in there! If you have anxiety and don't like to be around a lot of people this place is NOT for you! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. It was like a department store. They have everything! I wanted to see the big ideal is about the bathrooms, so I went to the huge line ( which moves very quickly) and was so impressed with the art work while I was waiting. There was an employee there telling people where to go. It was extremely clean and all I expected! I bought a protein pack for $8.99 and it was pretty decent. I also bought a pack of their jerky but haven't tried it yet. When I checked out, the clerk was SO friendly. There was a bit of a line to get out but it was a cool experience. read more

Wow is all I can say about this place! It is a bit overwhelming when you first walk in due to all the stuff!!! From prepackaged snacks to the hot line with BBQ to the cold prepared sandwiches and salads you are bound to find something that satisfies that traveling snack attack. They have homemade chips, fudge, and candied nuts. The jerky case is amazing with lots of different types of meats and flavors to choose from. They have the typical icee machines and coolers of lots of different types of drinks and beer. They also sell wine. The coffee station is huge!! We wandered to the clothing and knickknack section and there was more there to look at then we had time. Lots of stuff with the beaver mascot. There were plenty of restrooms and they were super clean and even had an attendant helping folks get to open stalls. We counted 120 gas pumps for cars which did include the EV charging stations. We went to the one in SC that just opened a month ago. Had I known it was gonna be as chaotic as it was, I probably wouldn't have stopped. It took us way too long to get into the parking lot and find a spot and even longer (45 minutes to get out of the parking lot). It was on a Saturday so that could also be why it was so busy. They should have workers or volunteers out there managing traffic cause it was like an apocalypse out there. Inside was just the same, a million people stuck like sardines, it was too hard to even get food cause you couldn't even tell where the line was or even how to order the hot food. We did manage to get the famous brisket sandwiches which were pretty good, some jerky which tasted amazing (tons of choices!) and I guess they had fresh jerky cause I saw it behind a case kinda like at a butchery. I also managed to grab a couple other snacks, these cinnamon bites at the counter and those are addictive. There were a bunch of souvenirs, especially gear decked out in Buc-ee. T-shirts, blankets, swimsuits, stuffed animals, you name it. We were in there less than 20 minutes just getting food cause we had our two little ones and it was just too chaotic to even look around and enjoy ourselves. We didn't get to see how clean the bathroom was that everyone talks about cause the line was wrapped around the building. The other good thing worth mentioning is the hundred gas pumps, being able to quickly use one, million parking spots and how friendly and efficient the cashiers worked. This place was great to visit! It's HUGE! We tried their brisket slices and chopped and OMG was it ever good! I personally liked the slices better. We ordered a pound of pulled pork to go and wow, sooo good! The Cinnamon beaver nuggets-amazing! The Korean BBQ jerky was tasty too. The chamoy peach rings are the right amount of sweet and spice. Great road trip stop along I-95!! I have been to Buc-ee's in Texas and I have to say this one in SC delivered the same great experience! It is a truly a beacon of light while driving along the never-ending I-95. We stopped of for gas and eats and boy, they do not disappoint! The sliced brisket sandwich was delicious! The jerky selections were plentiful and the fudge... amazing!!! Not to mention the fun shopping experience as there is a large store selling a huge variety of travel, camping, home items and souvenirs. And how could I not forget the bathrooms! A comfortable experience indeed. This location is much busier than others I hav been to but we were able to get rung up rather quickly by the cashiers with little wait at all. Plan on spending at least a half out here to take it all in as there is just so much to see. This stop is a must when doing the North-South travel! read more

I never imagined I would be writing a review for a service station but Buc-ees in Florence South Carolina was an experience worthy of a review. I apologize for not having photos to add to this review as I was not expecting to want to take pictures of a service station store and restroom so my phone stayed in the car. Folks! This was the biggest fuel station with so many pumps I couldn't count them. The ladies restroom was brightly lit, very clean and well stocked. There was even a foam cleaner dispenser and a hand sanitizer dispenser in the stall. The coffee was fresh and delicious, plus they had chocolate syrup and caramel syrup! That's the first time I've seen these two items at a self-service coffee station. The hot and cold food selection was extensive and made fresh. We did not make a food purchase so I can't provide feedback but the aesthetic was appealing. Where Buc-ees won me was the warm "welcome to Buc-ees" from all of the associates on both check out Islands as you enter the store. Ms FLOJO checked us out and she was friendly and welcoming. ( She gave my husband a little grief for his Dallas Cowboys hat) serves him right Lol . All the employees we saw, and there were a lot of them, for 5AM seemed happy to be there. Truck Stop Rest Stop Mega Store I don't have the words for this BIG A-- Buc-ees . This beaver has everything you need with probably 100 gas pumps here. WOW is all I could think of at the moment. If you ever see one of these in your travels make it a point to stop and check out this massive place. Shopping, food, cleanest restrooms on the highway. Something here for the entire family to get out of the car and see. The beaver has everything you could think of and things you don't while on the road. If you are traveling during the day do not stop here. It's almost impossible to get in and out and the roads leading up to and away from are a parking lot. Unfortunately, once you start there's also no way to change your mind and get out of it. The traffic was so bad getting in and there was a line to get into the store. Popped in around 6 pm on a Friday. Buc-ees is a half way point for us on our road trips. Gas prices were low, bathrooms were clean, and the food was good. I tried the fried chicken sandwich today for the first time and I really liked it. Light and moist chicken, soft bread, and the sauce was really good (and not overpowering). I'll definitely get this again. Also got the apple pies like I usually do. Everything generally seemed fresh today. This was my first time at Buc-ee's and I loved it! My boyfriend and I stopped here on a road trip to Georgia and I'm so glad we did! It's insane. WARNING- it's chaotic af. Please be careful walking in because cars are everywhere. They probably have like 50 gas pumps. I have never ever seen a bigger gas station. It's kind of like if Walmart was a gas station. When we got inside, I lost my boyfriend immediately. We split up to go to the bathroom, which by the way was super clean and there were TONS of stalls. Like whatever the maximum amount of stalls you've ever seen in a bathroom is, Buc-ee's has more. The line will move fast but definitely, you should agree on a place to meet afterward or wear a bright-colored shirt. In fact, you should use the buddy system at Buc-ee's. Once you split up, it's really hard to find each other. Honestly, we both thought that it would be a good idea to keep your eyes open here for human trafficking/kidnapping because it's just so crowded. We eventually split up after we found each other because I wanted to look around (you could spend hours here) and my boyfriend said I'll be in the car because he had had enough. Inside Bu-cee's, you'll find hot foods like burritos, sandwiches, etc. You will also find all of the road trip snacks; jerky, candy, pecans, you name it. They also have hats, shirts, etc. Anything. Oh also, the staff are great, they are v efficient at checking you out. We were so relieved to be out of Buc-ee's and back on the road. That doesn't mean I don't miss it. It's weird. Just go see it. Visited several times before but I keep coming back! The last trip my family went one we visited twice, once on Thursday and Sunday. The Thursday trip while it was busy we still easily found a parking spot and gas pump. Sunday however was wall to wall people so if you're uneasy with large crowds try to schedule a visit during the weekday. On my most recent visit I got my usual salted caramel fudge and chocolate chip cookies. This place makes every long road trip WORTH IT! We stopped here at 5:00am and then again around lunch time on our very quick trip down to Columbia from NC. This was our first Buc-ee's experience, and we loved every second of it! It does get very crowded, so we much preferred the morning stop! Our snacks included; beef jerky, beaver nuggets, sausage on a stick, pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, pepsi icee, and so much more. We still prefer the NC bbq over this Texas favorite, but it was still pretty good! It's all on what you grew up on! The bathrooms really are the cleanest bathroom you'll ever go into. And there are no gaps in between the stall door... a miracle! The gas was by far the cheapest in the area, probably because everyone spends a lot on buying the good snacks before they hit the road again! If you're ever on a road trip and pass by a Buc-ee's, make sure you stop in, you won't be disappointed! read more

Okay Buc-ee's is a adventure everyone should endeavor to check out! The BBQ brisket and turkey sandwiches are delicious. It's overwhelming in size we only spent about 30 minutes in the shop everyone else we have seen on YouTube were in there for at least an hour if not more. The prices aren't too high but expect to spend more than you may have planned. If it were more convenient we'd possibly make another trip but it's not convenient for us. read more
