What a guy!! We got to know bubble Man from his impromptu performances at carkeek park. When i found out he does parties we had to partake! He was awesome and clever and made jokes for everybody in the audience. Some folks might consider enforcing boundaries as rude, but if that's the case they need to take a deep look into themselves. Bubble Man is clear about his boundaries and if you're not helping enforce them, then he will have to. It's gonna be a scary world if folks are complaining about this and raising kids without respect for their and other people's boundaries. I didn't even want to leave a one star review. He deserves a negative rating. He came to my preschool years ago and was rude to the children and to the teachers. One specific child (with special needs) was very excited and so his teacher stayed close to help remind him of Bubbleman's rules. Bubbleman seemed frustrated by this child and after a rude remark to the child, the teacher attempted to redirect the child using positive guidance. Bubbleman yelled at the teacher and said not to step in when he already took care of it. The teacher politely told him it was her job and he said he didn't care and he was in charge because it was his show. Our preschool did not book him again. Several of the children told their parents about their negative experience that day so any referrals he hoped for went out the door. I understand how frustrating it is to work with children but let teachers and parents help during the show. He needs to retire asap. read more

I'd honestly give this no stars if I could. The Bubble Man visited our school recently and shocked the majority of our teachers with rude remarks and thoughtless comments. Over all, the children seemed oblivious to his questionable antics and were happy with the bubbles, but before, during, and after performing he made a lot of comments that caused discomfort among the adults. Here are some examples: He came in with his supplies and set up in a place that I had asked him not to, then complained about having to move them from one point to the next, so myself and my staff did have to move his supplies for him. He told me that I was putting him behind schedule (he showed up 45 min early because he booked another show right after ours and needed to start sooner) and that I was going to ruin the show if we set up on a playground that was licensed for preschoolers instead of toddlers. He was obviously frazzled when I persisted with following regulations, and loudly complained of how the wind was much better on this side and he didn't want to move. When it was time to move back to the toddler playground, which we had discussed needed to happen and agreed upon previously, he threw his arms up again saying that all the moving was going to ruin his show. He apologized for his bad attitude, but it didn't stop. He set up a rope in a circle on the ground and said that it was to keep the children in and the teachers out, and repeated this with each group. He encouraged the children to run and chase the bubbles within the circle, which was a bit small for the groups we had. He told all of our teachers not to repeat him (because the kids can hear him just fine) when he gave the children directions. When one teacher did speak up to help manage the children in her class, he sharply asked "What did I say about repeating me?" When another teacher, with a different group, did the same thing he told her "why don't you leave and get yourself some coffee?" and when she persisted to intervene, he again said "you're ruining my show!" She was redirecting children so that they wouldn't collide while chasing after bubbles. At one point he encouraged the children to chant "cheap toys" then said "oh, but you guys wouldn't know about that." When another child was crying upon being dropped off he stated "he's not crying, he's just whiny." Later as children began losing interest in his show, he stated "None of that ADD here! But it's not your fault, it's the parents!" He also told a group of our toddler teachers to sit in the "gross" grass so that he could perform in the drier area. We won't be hiring him again. He was disrespectful to our administration and our staff in front of the children, and left us with a sick feeling in our stomachs. I didn't get the impression that he enjoys his job anymore, and that really put a damper in the potential for a show with the Bubble Man. In my opinion, I don't feel that this was worth the price he was asking for. read more

What's this? The Bubble Man agrees to come to my friend's daughter's 5th birthday party at the park, we all show up with our kids in tow AND HE DOES NOT SHOW UP! No excuse, except trying to blame it on my friend...said it was up to her to confirm he was coming. Um...me thinks he forgot. So we had a crying Mom, an upset birthday girl and kids asking 'Where's the Bubble Man?' We had the Bubbleman many times for my daughter's preschool and elementary school field days. He does a great show that appeals to both children and adults. I highly recommend him for your next birthday or event. Ask him to show you his square bubbles? They are amazing. We will have him again. read more

The Bubbleman gives a fantastic performance for kids and adults alike. I remember one of his performances from when I was a child in Tacoma--I was entranced with his "pull the bubble out of the bubble wand" trick and copied it relentlessly. Now I enjoy taking my kids to see his annual show at the Wallingford Center Easter Egg hunt and they love the huge bubbles and his slapstick humor. As an adult, I get the jokes now too! Everybody wins. In regard to some of the negative reviews on here, I'd like to suggest a few alternative perspectives. I haven't witnessed the Bubbleman make "angry comments" toward children. At the beginning of each performance the Bubbleman tells the audience "the rules" to help the show to go smoothly. This involves designating a purple rope around him as an area for children to watch from, but they may not touch him or his "bubblephernalia" (a wise choice in an age when overprotective parents are easily triggered by the slightest physical interaction). He may give a brief reprimand to children who break the rules -- same as my kids' nanny would do -- but he's not mean-spirited. I've seen adults at the show do dumb things too and get called out, like blowing their own bubbles for their kid during the show (how rude!). As someone who has done children's performances myself, I recognize the frustration that can occur when the audience doesn't respect the performer's conditions during the show. Reinforcing the rules isn't the same as being "angry", it's cutting to the chase for the sake of time and the rest of the audience. Accusing the Bubbleman of not liking children is absolutely ridiculous speculation. As for the no show appearance mentioned here, I have known plenty of adults with the incompetency to properly follow through on scheduling (I host a vacation rental and you'd be surprised at how poorly some people communicate). Reading between the lines of this second-hand account, I suspect the party planners did play a roll in not properly confirming a schedule. What's a performer going to do in that situation -- show up on a whim and miss out on other gigs? A school that keeps booking a performer they don't like "for many years" sounds too contradictory to even take seriously. I hope to continue to take my kids and their friends to the Wallingford Easter Egg Hunt show for years to come. It's evident from the crowd that gathers how popular it is. This year was his 22nd consecutive appearance! We told him afterward what a treat it was, and he gave my son a special marble to keep. Moreover, I appreciate his encouragement to foster children's imaginative play and avoid video games, and his commitment to taking care of the earth by recycling, reusing, and reducing the plastics we use (all his bubble makers are repurposed plastic items). The Bubbleman is a sweet guy with a loud voice and big heart and is a whole lot of fun for respectful adults and kids alike. I was shocked at how rude the bubble man was to parents and children during his performance at my child's school. There are kind and appropriate ways to explain rules and he didn't use them. In fact, he was rude, lacked compassion, made inappropriate political comments and many kids were running around and getting hurt. When children got too close to him he made inappropriate comments like "who is this? Get him back!" or "I'm done with this kid. Time out!!" I was incredibly upset my sons school felt he was an appropriate performer and of course I complained to them. Overall I would never let my son watch the bubble man again. Bubbleman performed at my daughter's 2nd birthday and he was a big hit. The 2 years olds were a bit scared by some of his antics, but the 3+ year olds thought he was hilarious. My daughter loves bubbles and talked about him for a full year afterwards. Would definitely hire him again. read more

I would subtract stars if I could. Unprofessional, unreliable so NOT the person to book for your event. No Showed leaving birthday girl and friends wondering where he was. If you're set on bubbles go to a party store and buy each of the kids thier own bottle. They'll enjoy it a lot more and you'll save a ton of money. read more

The Bubbleman performed today at the Wallingford Center Easter Egg hunt. I'm not sure if he's worn out from doing this a long time or just doesn't like children. A few small toddlers were standing near his supplies. He continuously made angry comments about them being in his way. He was also angry because one of them was holding a toy and according to Bubbleman he has a hands-free policy for people watching the show. A while later as another small child walked across Bubbleman's path he looked at me and said, "hey mom, are you gonna do something about this child?" Well, no. That boy isn't my child. Also, he's a litle kid walking around at an event for children. The boy was just walking around, not doing anything. Later on, Bubbleman was doing some kind of trick and one of the little kids figured it out and said something. Bubbleman yelled that the kid ruined it. Not wanting to ruin a fun day for my kids, I thought I'd just grin and bare it. However, at that point my kids picked up on the anger and asked if we could go. I get it. The bubble man shouldn't be in the children's entertainment business. I usually ran into the bubble man at Seattle Carkeek park where he would do a few free gigs to promote his business. I had been symptomatic to him. When he said that he could not afford rent, I even thought about booking his show to help him out. Glad I didn't. Here is what happened. Today my two kids and I saw him at the park. During one of his gigs, he sucked a full month of water and spat it into my face and my three years old. I could tell he propusefully spat into our direction. My three years old got frightened and started crying, I had to took my baby away. The bubble man went on like it didn't happen. My other kid wanted to watch his show, so I stayed around and thought it might be just an accident and the bubble man would come to ease my three years old up after the show. No, I were wrong. The bubble man just sat there after the show. He even smirked at me when seeing me looking at him. At that point, I realized that he had no remorse to what he did to my child and me. Here in America, unless you were an alpaca, spitting on others were not an acceptable behaviour and certainly not a tasteful joke not even for a child let along a grownup. So parents be aware, if you had to watch his show, stay afar because he might spit on your children and thought it was OK. read more
