Usually coming here with my daughter is a special part of our day but today an unexpected new person at the register, the receipt says "Annelisea" because when i asked her name she said " I don't have to tell you" When we walked in we were not greeted she looked up from her phone standing right in front of the register and continued doing whatever she was doing, I waited a moment but still treated like i don't exist, I've never seen customer service like this before and Im extremely appalled. I would've left at this point but my daughter had her heart set so i ordered our usual and the drinks came out after a long while but did not taste how they usually do she would not remake them or refund us. My son and I visited here. It's new (Not sure how new), but we love bubble tea, and always down to check a new place out. It's just as the strip mall stores on the outside. In the same shopping center as Fred Meyer. These inside is nice. Very minimal. A couple tables to sit and enjoy your drink or ice cream, it looked nice and surface clean everywhere. It was easy to order, they have a great selection of flavors and sizes. Even a rewards program. We ordered brown surged milk tea w tapioca bobas, and a almond shake with tapioca boba. It was all super yummy. The shake was an actual shake consistency. Not like blended up ice. The almond wasn't weak, or too strong. The staff was a tad hard to communicate with because of the English barrier but we managed, she was very polite. It did take a bit to get our drinks, and they weren't busy. Thai Tea w/Boba is AMAZING It's a very simple drink and it's always my go to. Their Thai tea is very sweet which makes it BETTER than other places. I've been coming everyday now for the same thing. I finally made it to Bubble Island when they were actually open. The hours aren't posted anywhere and I believe they kind of make their own hours. I believe they've been short handed for the longest time so they're been working with what they've got. Anyway, there are two different main choices for the teas (powdered and real fruit). I opted for a strawberry powdered with mixed jellies. The cashier was friendly then disappeared behind a separator wall to blend up the teas. The waiting area is sparsely furnished and had a few activities to keep the kids busy as well as a foosball table. All the furniture has brightly colored slip covers on them. The bright colors give the shop a festive island look but a festive island feel as many of the slipcovers are not in great shape or stained with substances. The bubble tea is not the greatest nor the worst I've had. I will try the real fruit kind next time and see if my review changes. This place only serves bubble tea so if you're hungry, get food elsewhere. read more

I've been going to this boba shop one every other week for about 2 and a half years, I can not recommend this place enough!! The building could use a little bit of work, but don't let that turn you away, the product is amazing and the costumer service is amazing! Since COVID they have followed safety regulations and are currently not requiring masks which is so nice! Took one star away for the building, once they fix that they'll have a 5 from me!! read more

I'm a classic milk tea kinda person, and this flavor is usually a good gauge of the quality of one's bubble tea. Bubble Island's milk tea was too sweet for my taste, making it hard for me to even finish a small cup. The boba was just alright - a little on the soft side, and the amount was pretty skimpy too. They only had four non-slush/smoothie flavors, so if you prefer the milk teas/non-slush or smoothie type, your options are limited. read more

I love the strawberry guava and the black milk tea (with a hint of taro). The boba is pretty chewy and easily frozen, however they do a great job making sure it's not too sweet. Sometimes the ice cream is freezer burnt. The service there is friendly, although sometimes it's hard to communicate and I feel a little rushed. I feel welcome though! The place is a little intimidating because it's kind of run down. It looks like they were once popular and now Lacey's secret... also hours are pretty unpredictable. My orders can be complicated, to say the least. I can't have dairy, ice hurts my teeth, and I'm picky about my pearls. I ordered a coconut milk (yes they have dairy free options!) taro iced tea, no ice, with very light coconut jelly in it. When I first saw Bubble Island I was hyped. I thought I had found a new spot to get my bubble tea fix since moving away from Seattle. I assumed it would be good since they specialized in making it. I was wrong and it fails in comparison to Yunnies, WOW, and Gossip. Now, the first time I went ordered the matcha green tea milkshake and it was decent, but the tapioca was overcooked. Instead of being chewy and sweet the tapioca was hard and bitter. I just thought it was a fluke so I came back a week later to try again. This time I ordered an orange mango milkshake and to my dismay I had the same results. Besides, having bad tapioca they have a very limited selection of flavors options and do their no milk tea. When I entered the boba shop, I noticed the appearance of it--not very presentable so I could understand some of the low ratings. However, I've found my favorite snow bubble flavor here so that's why I'm giving them 5 stars. My cousins took me here when we were visiting from San Diego, which has lots of amazing boba spots but none with strawberry taro!!! This is hands down the best flavor I've ever tasted. First sip tastes like strawberry and then a few seconds the flavors of taro hits. I think it's the best combo. No, just no!! I was in on January 30th, and ordered a green bubble tea. I started drinking it and it tasted like rotten fish. I thought to myself it could just be the mix of flavors in my mouth. I kept drinking it trying to convince myself it was ok. A Quarter of the way in, and I knew something was wrong. Well sure enough about 4 hours later I got stomach cramps and 9 hours later I was vomiting and having violent diarrhea. Food poisoning. Stay away from here. Save yourself grief and go to Brazanga in the mall, it tastes so much better and it doesn't get you sick. read more

I showed up in this quiet run down tea shop to see an employee sitting on her phone at the counter. Which is totally not a complaint, but She didn't acknowledge I was in there until I walked all the way up to the counter, and I'd say about 10 seconds of me awkwardly waiting for her to get done with her 117th stroll through social media for the day, she then put her phone down walked over to the register and just looked at me? I ordered 2 iced tarro milk teas. She took my order went behind the wall, and I heard the blender 2 seconds later. The minute I heard it stop I reminded her I asked for iced tarro milk teas, not blended. She didn't say anything or even nod, she turned around and I watched her make the cheapest, laziest tarro milk teas I have ever had. I figured this place would be better than the mall, both Olympia and Tacoma. And it wasn't even close.
