We went to this place every day while we were there. Their paste options are really good. The sesame, peanut, walnut, and cashew flavors are all tasty. Didn't try the almond tho. You can go hot or cold, and mix two flavors if you want. The sweet in heart is good, can be super hot when it's served, and the fluffy cream toast is dope too. Don't read the Chinese for red bean soup. Nah, still the chenpi tangerine peel red bean soup. Cash or Fantuan delivery works. Can add fresh durian or mango with over $10. Kinda expensive for the portion. Can be crowded sometimes, but we always find a spot. Plus, their time may be different.

Cash only! It's a small place, no frills. Seating can be a challenge if they're busy but lots of people take to go as well. That being said, It's a good date spot or space for small talk and sharing food. Opens relatively late for a evening snack or dessert. The food is great and lives up to its name - fruity. My favourite are the curry fish balls and the fluffy cream toast though!

Very tasty! Min charge is $6 per head. Parking on the street is not free. There is a meter there. Apple map keep pointing me to wrong direction. So pls use google map. Dessert is great. We all love it. Does not look too impressive, but it tasted good.

The desserts here are yummy and the prices are good! I got here pretty late at 10ishhpm and the place was popping with people so I got takeout. Got the mango sago grapefruit dessert and tong yuan. Very reasonably priced and great for late night dessert will def be checking this place out again when I'm in the area!!

After dinner in the area, we headed over to Bubble Fruity to try some of their HK style desserts. It's located across the street from Newton Beef Noodle House. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 9:30pm). The place was packed! It's a hole in the wall with about 8 tables, some random Asian movie dramas playing in the background and service that will remind you of HK. The type where they're ready to take your order the second you sit down. The menu is simple consisting of two things: desserts and snacks. Sadly, they were sold out of their durian dumplings. Note: there's a minimum order of $5.50 per person. - Mango sago cream with grapefruit (F21) ($6.00) - the sago was light but had a pleasant texture. Grapefruit bits add a touch of sour tone; pomelo would be a better alternative. The mango flavour and texture was excellent. Would get this dish again. - Dumplings with wine (F13) ($5.50) - never had this dessert before but it's apparently very traditional. You can smell the fermented rice wine. On it's own, the soup is sweet (think they added honey pollen) and the balls are plain but eaten together, it's a tasty combination. I like how they also added actual rice grains for some subtle texture. - Black sesame dumplings (F12) ($6.50) - you get four dumplings. As someone put it, the black sesame filling flows out like lava. I love black sesame; this was easily my favourite dessert of the night. The ginger soup is subtle but the dumplings are fresh and have a great bouncy, chewy consistency. Cash only. Will definitely be back to BF for more HK desserts.

Reasonably priced place for desserts and snacks. Especially now that it's getting colder, this is a great option for some warm desserts. My favourite is their tofu dessert with black sesame paste. It doesn't look tasty, but it is and isn't very sweet at all. I was craving something savoury too and went with the rice rolls with mix sauce. It satisfied my cravings, but there was a bit too much sauce. My friend let me try some of her butter and condensed milk toast. Such a simple thing, but it was so good. A little bit salty, and sweet. It was a perfect bite. My friend ordered the grass jelly with sago cream and really enjoyed it. Overall, this is a good place to grab a quick dessert if you're in the area.

Bubble Fruity - cash only Durian sago cream $6.5 9/10 I would definitely get it again! Not too many places do durian but it's a favourite of mind. It's really smooth and not super creamy, more milky. However, it's super cheap and worth it! The sago is soft and chewy! Quite big pieces too. Can't make basil seeds look good but they are!

So good.... Fresh Mango Bubble Tea, Sugarless Mango Tea with Gulingao, Taro Bubble Tea with Pearl, Butter Condensed Milk Toast

I'm on a strict eating plan to curb the onset of pre-diabetes so I was able to enjoy sugar-free fresh mango bubble tea with gulingao, fresh cold tofu no sugar while my homeslices got taro with proper fresh pearls and mango bubble tea no pearls. Everything about this place is legit. I felt like I was transported back to Asia... But I guess what can you expect from Richmond lol I hope to return and eat the black sesame dessert when I am brave enough to eat sugar again!

While touring Vancouver my cousins and I tried multiple bubble tea spots. Of the drinks we order at different tea spots, we usually get one regular milk tea drink. This time around we ordered a milk tea drink and a strawberry milk tea drink. The milk tea here was not good. The tea flavor was very overpowering and was not enjoyable. However, the strawberry drink (which was a powder drink) was delicious! The consistency of the bubbles were decent. I would give this place another try if it's ever on my way, but I would steer clear of the regular milk tea. I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place. Review 27/100 for 2016

Came here for some Honger-style desserts. Street parking here is free after 2100. Just a tip. This is a true mom and pop operation. He serves, while she makes the desserts. Even though I'm not a fan of Chinese-style desserts in general, the freshness of the ingredients cannot be disputed. I had the mango sago cream dessert. The mango puree was delicious. And this is from a guy who doesn't like eating mangoes. They mixed in a small amount of basil seeds, along with little tiny chunks of what I think was grapefruit. It was definitely not what I had expected, and I mean this in a pleasant way. On a side note, they won some HSBC "Best Dessert in Richmond" award recently. It's hung on a frame behind the front counter. If this type of dessert is your thing, be sure to check them out.

Love coming here for their traditional Cantonese style desserts (or sweet soups)! This is definitely a neighbourhood gem, a hole in the wall dessert place. Tonight I opted for their black sesame sweet soup and it was good! I like to have nutty soup hot in general, I find the flavour to be nicer and more aromatic. The texture was just right, not too thick or watery. Sesame flavour was very adequate without being too floury. It was very smooth too, I'd think they have sifted the sesame content enough for that. This place is great for late night, after dinner, or afternoon snack. Simple and good, nothing pretentious. Other personal favourites are durian sago, taro sago, walnut sweet soup, cashew sweet soup, and mango pomelo sago. Seatings are limited so be prepared to wait especially on the weekend, or you can opt to take out.

This is probably my favourite place in Vancouver for classic Hong Kong desserts. Most of the menu items here are in the $4-$5 range and are well portioned. They do require everybody to order at least one item I believe but that's quite easy since we normally order a few to share! My favourites here are the glutinous rice balls with black sesame paste filling and the mango pomelo sago mixture which are both staples in traditional Hong Kong dessert shops. The staff are friendly (to us) but I guess service here can be really a hit or miss since I have heard bad things as well. In general, they tend to take vacations or days off without much notice so I have come here several times when they were just closed with no reason. Prices are quite cheap though compared to eating dessert at somewhere fancier (and farther away) such as Thierry or even somewhere like cactus club so it's nice to have something cheap and delicious nearby! PS: If you want a hot soup dessert then I would definitely recommend the black sesame soup with tofu!

    Denise W.

I had their hot walnut paste before and that was ok. But the issue is with the cold walnut paste, that was too sweet. It was so sweet that my throat stung at the end. I felt a bit sick from the over sweetness. I don't think this thing is healthy. It was pretty deadly, lethal. I don't think I will be coming back. or maybe if I do definitely having something else.

Generously sized, perfect consistency and with delicious sesame goodness~

The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)

I have learned over the years that I can appreciate red bean as a bubble tea drink if it's all blended up. However, it's the chunks of bean that I don't like, and this wheel cake had chunks of bean in it. It's not too sweet and I liked that it came with a side of red bean sauce which made it less dry. The money is also made of edible paper but we didn't touch it cuz it felt weird eating it. However, it wasn't anything special and we wouldn't order it again. It was quite busy when we arrived on a Friday night but it's much easier to go in a smaller party. We were a party of 2 and walked right in even though others were waiting because they needed a bigger table. The place is clean and service was fast. They don't have a time limit even though they are busy so it's a great hang out spot. We would definitely be back to try out other items they have to offer.

And right now (not sure until when) they have a giant sandpit installed in the middle of their store. If you spend $25, you get to play with their toy excavator. And if you collect over 30g of gems, you can spin the wheel and win prizes. (Big prize = $20 coupon) Great for keeping kids and adults that are still kids at heart (myself included), happily occupied.
