Went on a Sunday during the cowboy game. Place was very busy and really loud! Tvs cover every inch of the restaurant. Has more of a sports bar feel than a family restaurant. The food was amazing! We've been there several times but one thing I've noticed is how unfriendly the unkept hostess and yesterday's lunch waitress had been. Waitress was completely inattentive and appeared to not want to be there! Food was good but I hate going into a restaurant where the staff seems disinterested in their work...and ultimately ignoring their customers! I recently made a list of places in the area i havent been before and this was on the list. I dont go out often, so i was excited to try a new place. We sat at the bar, and it was very obvious we were not a priority to our bartender. It was very difficult to get things ordered during our whole visit. I tried two different cocktails, both were okay. We got the garlic knots and it comes with a cheese sauce that seemed to be broken? The knots were fabulous but took a long time to come out. Honestly I liked the flavor of the cheese sauce but it just looked lumpy but not in a curdled way. I got a mushroom burger with grilled onions. I asked for medium well, but when I took a bite it looked like they just seared the outside of the burger - totally raw. It took some time to get attention to ask for it to be fixed, and when they took the plate back I assumed I would get fresh sweet potatoe fries. I didnt say anything but they were cold when they came out with the burger. When the food came back out it was very disappointing because the fries were all black/ burnt. The burger came back a better cook, and the flavor was good, but at that point I was just ready to leave. read more

We came here for a charity event, ordered fried pickles, bone-in and boneless wings and they were by far some of the worst wings I've ever had in my life. They were way over cooked and it was a 12 piece order...half of them were inedible because of how well done they were. Both orders of wings were lacking flavor and sauce. Food is good, but the customer service is poor. Their online ordering when using a discount code scams people. I received a free appetizer coupon for my birthday. When I went to add the code it accepted it. However, when I paid, it charged me full price. When I got to the restaurant it took 5 minutes just for someone to come talk to me, even after multiple members of the staff saw me standing there waiting. Once someone did, I let them know what happened. He came back and said my manager said there is nothing that can be done and that I needed to come back and use the coupon next time. I shared the coupon expires on the 16th (5 days later). He shrugged his shoulders and said, sorry. I asked if he could void the order and re-ring me up so that I could use my birthday coupon. He said, no we can't do that either. If I didn't have my two daughters with me I would have stayed and called the manager over myself. Horrible service, checked in and was told 5 to 10 minutes wait. After 25 minutes and severl people who arrived after us were seated, checked in to see how much longer and they couldn't find my name. After 10 more minutes a manager finally arrived. They asked if i had the text to show that i was checked in showed them and they saw that it was from 35 minutes ago, but the response was well we can add you back to the waiting list. I ordered a margarita , which was good , but until y good my food , everything was going perfect until a found a pice of nail inside my burger , I immediately call the manager and told her the problem , she did said she was sorry and can not explain what happened ... I understand that things happen but what made me mad was that after she left she came back trying to explain that that was not a nail , but a pice of wood from the toothpick that the put in the burger , come on that shit was clear and was bendable , if it was from the toothpick that would have been brownish and would break . This is a 5 star because Bubba's over-delivers everything you would expect from a bar/restaurant called Bubba's. Great diverse bar food, music videos, ATV, televisions everywhere, and seriously cold beer. We come here A LOT because we live close and it's the closest place to our house and we only go into the bar section. COVID protocols are mostly adhered to, but it can get a little lax in the bar area when masks fall below the nose and tables could be cleaned a bit better because they are sticky at times. But this place is great and the staff are very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The first thing you notice after the wonderfully icy cold beer, is the portions. They are unreal. Seriously - split entrees! Ok, now on to the burgers - get this: they grind in their bacon into the ground beef on their signature burgers. Just wow - so good. The sunrise burger for brunch is pretty much impossible to resist. Also - hear me out... I know it sounds like something to easily dismiss as "fluff" but don't forget to try the garlic knots. Trust me. We haven't tried the pizza yet but it looks great. Everyone talks about the onion rings but they just seemed like onions in a funnel cake to me. The wings are good but I would not come here specifically for the wings. They seem a little sweet to me which I find weird and not drenched in sauce - but that's just my preference. But did I mention the ice cold beer? I'm a beer guy, but a friend of mine said they seem to under pour his vodka/soda - but I don't know. Anyway - if you are looking for an above average bar experience with better food, colder beer, and great people - bring it to Bubba's 33. read more

The first couple times we came I was completely in awe of this place. The food is still awesome however the service has taken a nosedive. Our first couple visits we were seated in the dining room and the food and service were amazing. The last few times we've been seated in the bar area and the service has been horrendous. On our most recent visit I decided I could not in good conscientious keep them rated at 5 stars. We were seated quickly and someone came by and took our drink orders letting us know that our server would be right with us. Our drinks came and we waited... and waited... the person came by and asked if we would like some appetizers. So of course we ordered appetizers because the crooked cheese is fabulous. Then we waited some more. I think our server delivered our appetizers but when he dropped them off he immediately left. It was a full 10 minutes before he came back to take our actual food order. When the food came it was perfect and delicious as usual. Going forward we will request to be seated in the dining room and at that point maybe I can update my review again so that it reflects how truly excellent their food is. read more

My brother and I were absolutely stoked to come to Bubba's 33. After reviewing its menu online and hyping ourselves up insanely for a nighttime escape, we were seated reasonably soon after coming in during the busiest time of the day. The service was absolutely phenomenal (shoutout to Zoey!), and even one of the night's floor managers came to our table to make sure we were doing all right and listed a benefit of being first time customers. The food was just what we needed: massive burgers, loads of sides, hot boneless wings with actual amounts of chicken in them, and a great last encounter with dessert sealed the deal. I don't understand all the rave reviews for Bubba's 33. We've tried this place twice. The first time: a Sunday night. Only about 5 tables occupied. Great! They're not slammed. After being seated, waited 20 mins. Many servers walked by, none acknowledged our presence. We must have been invisible. Finally flagged someone down to speak with a manager. Manager gave appropriate response when we said we weren't waiting any longer and leaving, and she "encouraged" us to give them another try. Last night, tried again. Full parking lot, no wait, seated promptly. Server may have been new, but didn't know any answers re the menu or anything else. Gotta wonder about the quality or existence of training. No appetizers, took 2 hours. Slow slow slow. Ironically, just read an article (while waiting) where the CEO said servers have fewer tables than the other places so service is better. Sorry, not in The Colony. The 2 stars are for the food. read more

We have been wanting to try this place so went in today. We got our drinks and ordered food. Bubba's fiesta dip is pretty tasty stuff and the serving is huge. The issues started when the food came. We asked for refills on our drinks then. The shot gun shrimp po' boy is really good and the fire fries have a dry seasoning I didn't find umpleasantly hot. The hot and spicy chicken sandwich was good but there was something off putting with flavor of the chicken so was sent back after one bite. They were very nice about it. We still hadn't gotten our drink refills. The kids pepperoni pizza is decent sized and declared good. The kids burger and fries also decent sized was raw in the middle so over half wasn't eaten. It took asking for drink refills again with the ticket and a go box for the rest of the dip over 30 minutes after we asked the first time. We got the drinks almost 10 minutes later. No go box, no ticket. The wait person immediately went to another table to take their order so we waited again for those. The food is hit and miss. The service was pretty poor but may not be the norm. Overall, we were just disappointed in what had the potential to be a really nice lunch. We may try again another time. read more
