If you're looking for a sports bar that gets it right, Bubba's 33 at 1604 and Culebra deserves a spot on your list. First off, these guys are about the veterans. Every Wednesday, veterans receive 20% off, which is a great way to show appreciation to those who served. What really caught my attention, though, is the value. They've got daily specials on wings, burgers, and pizza, making it easy to enjoy a great meal without breaking the bank. I've only been here twice in the last three weeks, and that says a lot. Usually, if a place doesn't impress me the first time, I move on. Bubba's 33 was different. Both visits were on a whim, and both times felt like hitting the lottery. The atmosphere is fantastic. If you're an 80s music fan, you'll appreciate the soundtrack playing throughout the bar area. Even better, both times we found great seating without a hassle. That's a huge plus, especially when there's a big game on. We started with the Chorizo Queso Dip, and let me tell you that dish is absolute fire. I also learned that it's made in-house, which explains why it stands out. Do yourself a favor and add the guacamole. It takes it to another level. For dinner, she ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad, while I went with the Angus Burger featuring two beef patties cooked medium, topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Bubba's special sauce. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best burgers I've had at a sports bar in a long time. Hats off to the cooks in the kitchen...they nailed it. The beer was ice cold, and the bartenders provided exceptional service from start to finish. One thing sports fans will appreciate: they actually play the game audio through the speakers. My previous visit was during Game 2 of the Spurs vs. OKC series, and not only was there plenty of seating, but having the sound on made the experience so much better. Between the food, service, atmosphere, veteran-friendly discounts, and sports-bar experience done right, Bubba's 33 has quickly become one of my go-to spots on the northwest side. And who knows... I just might be back for Spurs vs. Knicks Game 4. Cold beer. Great burgers. House-made queso. Sports with sound. That's a winning combination Best regards, Texas Mozzer P.s. sorry didn't take any pics. read more

In my personal opinion, I've never been someone who typically favors chain restaurants. Too often, the quality, service, and overall ambiance can feel a little too standardized--bringing to mind the usual experience you get at places like Chili's and other major chains. Because of that, I usually don't walk in with particularly high expectations. That said, my experience at Bubba's at this particular location completely challenged that opinion. From the moment we arrived, the service exceeded my expectations. Our server was genuinely friendly and personable, starting a conversation by asking how our day was going and what we had planned for the evening. It was a small gesture, but it made the experience feel much more personal and welcoming. And then there was the food. I was honestly surprised by how impressed I was with the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked--flaky, flavorful, and paired with crispy fries and an amazing tartar sauce that really brought everything together. Overall, we had a genuinely great experience, and honestly, it was better than I expected going in. Bubba's definitely reminded me that sometimes it's worth setting aside your preconceived notions. This particular location delivered great food, excellent service, and an experience that I would happily repeat. read more

On October 15, I dined at Bubbas 33 and observed several concerning issues. The hostess who seated my family appeared short and dismissive, rolling her eyes after seating us. This was a clear indication that we should have considered dining elsewhere, as the subsequent experience was highly unsatisfactory. While our server was attentive and friendly the cooks made several mistakes. My grilled cheese was burnt to a crisp, and the fries were excessively salted and served cold. Our food was delivered at three separate intervals: the grilled cheese was served first, followed by my wife's salad 17 minutes later. The salad had wilted and lacked dressing. Nine minutes later, our wings arrived cold. Finally, six minutes after the salad, my children's pizza arrived. It was evident that the restaurant was experiencing management issues or training difficulties, as the inconsistency in the quality of food was significant. Additionally, we ordered a scoop of ice cream, which was less than a quarter scoop. Despite these negative experiences, we have dined at Bubbas 33 on weekends in the past and have always been impressed by the service and food quality. However, this particular visit was not as desirable. We will likely return to Bubbas 33 in the future, but not at this particular location. read more

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Bubba 33, and I'd like to share my thoughts about the experience. Overall, it was a good meal with exceptional service. However, there were a few minor drawbacks that are worth mentioning. The food at Bubba 33 was undeniably good. While it may not be the absolute best I've ever had, it was satisfying and left me with a positive impression. The menu offers a variety of options, and I found something I enjoyed. The standout feature of my visit was the outstanding service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. It truly made a difference and left a lasting impression. One aspect that could be improved is the wait time to be seated. We had to wait for approximately 65 minutes during peak hours. While the food and service were good, it might not be worth the wait for some diners. I would recommend visiting during non-peak hours to avoid this inconvenience. In summary, Bubba 33 offers a good dining experience with tasty food and exceptional service. While it may not be the absolute best restaurant in town, it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you can time your visit to avoid the rush. I would consider coming back for another meal in the future. read more

Bubba's 33 never disappoints! The food and service were absolutely amazing from start to finish. My visit yesterday was good with staff. When you order something with tartar sauce and you ran out, it is the responsibility of the restaurant to let you know that they ran out before bringing out the food. Management couldn't offer better alternatives. My food did get cold. Another question is how do run out tartar sauce on a busy friday. This is called bad planning. Sad I had to order pizza.
