    Fish and shrimp

The fish and shrimp was excellent. The breading was amazing and the fries were crispy. The staff is friendly and the restaurant was clean.

To start, upon walking in, I would have left if it wasn't an invite from another person. The smells and the sights were sub level. Smelled old, looked run down, opened in 1954 and let me tell you I believe it! Seems like it started as a house and they just kept adding rooms all of which are now dining rooms . The parking lot is bumpy. The entrance area has a few machine games Expected cheaper prices but they do have several all you can eat dishes Not impressed with the food and although I read the article on the wall that Bob started to be known by his enchiladas... they had to be the worse I've ever had. Rice was hard and cold, corn was from a can, fish was just ok, not much taste to anything. Service was good and they were all efficient though busy However I wouldn't return When you sit and wonder if the health dept has been here .... Not a good sign. Definitely do not take a date here, on the flip side the date would be memorable.

Receipt of disappointing when I left more food behind then I actually ate

My server wasn't attentive to my tablet small party of 2. The food I was very excited for was disappointing smaller portion than I expected. Sent foo back to kitchen and honestly it didn't redeem itself. I think the workers set the environment for my meal more so my server was interested in the lady sitting behind me because he father worked then rather than trying to accommodate my husband and myself. I saw a deep lack of communication and customer service. My husband's thoughts when leaving were simply "we won't be coming back" .

Excellent choice today for dinner with my parents. We have been coming here for years. The largest country fried steak has always been a favorite of ours! Always have left overs to take home. :-) excellent service!

This place is good and very consistent! I've heard of this place for years but always chose to stay away due to poor reviews. Until one day I decided to give it a shot. I wish I had chosen to try it out a long time ago. I only order one thing and it is the massive Chicken Fried chicken they have. The thing is the size of the plate! Me and my partner drive 20 mins just for it! It's always hot, never dry and did i mention? huge! Now the sides are truly nothing to write home about. I do wish they would put more thought into them though. The mashed potato's are clearly from a box. The green beans lack any flavor and also from a can. The bread that accompanies the plate is super dry and could use a brushing of butter. Service is always great and all of the wait staff seem to truly enjoy their job. Do keep in mind this place isn't the nicest. Decor is outdated and I feel like they're going for an oldtimey vibe. They have old music players at some of the tables which really add to the vibe. Place is a bit boxy and could use a different floor plan. In conclusion the chicken fried chicken is great and customer service is also great! A quick disclaimer the 4 stars can be attributed to their consistency and customer service.

Awesome San Antonio Favorite! Our go to on the Southside! This place has been rocking Fish since my parents were young! Stop by and enjoy the Fresh Food!!

Old fashion jukebox in the middle of the table. High extended walls just in case of a food fight?

I like the food at Bud Jones, especially the Turkey with dressing plate they have usually on Sundays. All their food is delicious.

Birthdays, random cravings, "we survived the week" dinners & you name it, we've probably celebrated it here. The vibe is casual, fun, and laid-back, which is exactly what you want when you're about to put on a bib and commit to a seafood boil. And yes, that is exactly what you should do here because the boils never miss. The seafood is always fresh, the sauces are flavorful, and the spice levels are not playing around. My recommendation? Stick with level 2 unless you enjoy sweating through your meal and reevaluating your life choices. My go-to combo is mussels, shrimp, crab legs, potatoes, boiled egg, and veggies. And before anybody gets suspicious about the veggies in a seafood boil, hear me out, they absolutely belong there. They soak up all that buttery, spicy sauce and add something extra to the whole experience. Don't skip them. Also, get the flights. They're fun, they're good, and they make an already good time even better. Smashin Crab is one of those places we keep coming back to because it's reliable in the best way: good seafood, great flavor, and the kind of meal that feels like an event every time.

Jenn was our server, and she was amazing very attentive, informative, and provided great service throughout our visit. The ambiance was a fun, lively vibe with music playing, and the restaurant was clean. The happy hour menu had a great selection, with everything from shrimp boils to cocktails. We started with the 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters ($19.12) and the Smash'd Margarita Flight ($11 during happy hour). Chargrilled Oysters: 8.5/10 The oysters were cooked in garlic butter and Parmesan and served with crispy toast. The toast was definitely a highlight for me it added such a good texture and paired really well with the oysters. I would absolutely order these again! Smash'd Margarita Flight: (9/10) This was a fun way to get a taste of the different margaritas they offer. The prickly pear was my favorite of the flight! Shrimp Boil: (10/10) For our main meal, we ordered the shrimp boil from the happy hour menu and added a few extras. I loved how customizable the boils were. They have a great variety of add-ons, from broccoli to ramen noodles, and you can also choose your seasoning and spice level. Overall, we had a great experience. Good food, a fun atmosphere, plenty of options, and great service from Jenn. We'll definitely be back and those chargrilled oysters will be making another appearance at the table! When I came up to the place it wasn't a sit down place to eat, but that you have to order which was confusing as there were a lot of other restaurants within the small space. And I place my order as it was Wednesday dollar day for wings so I order wings. I had the parmesan garlic, lemon pepper. Let me tell you they were so good, the wait was too long but worth the wait. The menu is exciting and the concept is definitely there--but unfortunately, my dining experience didn't quite live up to it. I ordered the pecan-crusted trout, which had a nice texture but lacked flavor and seasoning. The dirty rice was also underwhelming, with very little depth or seasoning, and the calamari was a bit rubbery. Overall, the food just didn't hit the mark for me. Service was also a bit inconsistent. During dinner, I found myself having to get up to grab my own salt and pepper, as well as my own place setting, which took away from the experience. That said, I did have a much better interaction the day before when my wife and I stopped by for a glass of champagne at the bar--the bartender was lovely and welcoming. On a positive note, the location is beautiful--right along the River Walk, which makes for a great ambiance and setting. When it comes out, the drink is good but could've used a bit more lime in the mix but not bad. For food, I go with the fried shrimp and catfish nuggets. When they come out, the plates are larger than expected and both come with fries. This could easily be shared with two or three people. Everything was friend to perfection, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and seasoned well. The plates were wiped clean. I ordered a house pinot noir and it was a good.
