After eating some 'Hot' New Mexican food for the last few days, I really wanted something milder. I read a few reviews, and I'll be honest that the reviews were mixed, however I was on my own, expecting to eat at the bar and I figured that it would probably be decent - I was wrong - it was really very, very good! I had the Southern Fried Chicken - this is something that I've always found to be a hit or a miss - well, this was definitely a hit for me! Super tender chicken with fresh mashed potatoes so far as I could tell and some delicious house-made country gravy. Outstanding!! I'd probably go back, just for this the next time that I'm in ABQ. My favorite Philly cheesesteak in Albuquerque! Not only is the sandwich a good size, the service is wonderful and down home welcoming. The meat isn't too salty and the sandwich itself is stuffed with mushrooms, green bell peppers, cheese, and onions! Perfect if you're not counting calories. Bubba's 33 is the unlikely favorite along a strip of chains off of Interstate 25. I really like their crispy fries and simple menu. Great for families or groups! Come here for good food. read more

Not worth the time and money - Phoned in a To-Go order (2 cheese steak subs), told 15-20 minutes. I parked 15 minutes later and went to the outside counter where I was told to go inside and pay. I went to the inside counter and was treated like they were doing me a favor by selling me food. I paid and was told they would bring the food out to my car (described car to them) in one of the 2 To-Go parking spots... in front of the restaurant. 35 minutes later I called the inside counter and was told "yeah, it's been here, where are you?) A waitress walked out, stood outside the door, looked around the parking lot (again - only 2 To-Go parking spots), I honked the horn, she came over and gave me my Cold food. Started out with a 20-25 minute wait...... Hate waiting to be able to sit and order food. Was seated after about 15 minutes. Kayla was our server. Call me a fan! We were looking for a place to eat a decent dinner on a Sunday night and a lot of places were closed by 9pm. I had seen this place and wanted to give it a try. It was still busy at 9pm on a Sunday night. They just opened on December 15th. A distant relative was our server, which made the experience that much better. The service was impeccable, as was the food. From the time we walked in the door, we were treated well. We were even asked if we had been helped yet. If you are into sweet drinks, try a coconut moonshine. This place has some of the coldest beer available, too. The menu features items for every taste. I decided to try the vegetarian pizza, and I added seasoned chicken (for only $1, mind you). The pizza was big, and the crust and sauce were homemade. Yum! My hub had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was huge and delicious. We had fried pickles as an appetizer with the "bubba sauce"...think ranch meets BBQ smoky sauce...delish! For two drinks each, an app, and two meals (although the pizza provided me three meals and the sandwich provided the hub 2), it was about $50. That's pretty reasonable if you ask me. The food was good, the staff (all of them, not just the distant relative) were super friendly, and did I mention the TVs? According to our server, Bubba's put 1 million dollars into the TVs. When customers show up and order 2 beers and two shots of fireball don't cut them off because they didn't order food from ur menu! We ate before and wanted to take our time! I said are we acting drunk and belligerent? They said no. So why cut us off because all we wanted was to enjoy a football game and have drinks? No comp and no apologies. Will take this to cooperate. The food is good and they've got a handful of different options for pub type fare. The beers on tap are quite good, and thankfully very cold, and they have a few local brews which is almost essential in our craft savvy town! Great view of just about any sports event on at the moment and a ton of TVs to choose from. Unfortunately however if you're hoping to be truly immersed in the a event within the dining areas you'll have to be ok WITHOUT audio as they opt for music. If you'd like to hear the games as well make sure to sit inside the enclosed patio area. If your looking for a true sports bar experience I don't know that this is necessarily the spot. It's solid all around, however for the sports enthusiasts amongst there are other options worth considering. read more

THIS IS ACTUALLY 0 STARS!!! Where do I start.......So my friend and I get there and SHELBY, the bartender is rude right off the bat. I let it go and am nice to her until she is forced to be nice back. I get my food and the Philly Cheese steak should just be called the Philly Steak because there was no cheese. I mention it to her and she just proceeds to argue with me about my food, so I shut down and eat it anyway, as to not argue with this girl any longer. At this point, SHELBY, is being super nice to my friend and being rude to me. As my friend is eating her salad she finds part of a latex glove in it, when the manager comes over to see, I could almost swear her and SHELBY the bartender are having a "who can be the ultimate mean girl" contest. I also went to the bathroom twice within this visit and BOTH times there wasn't toilet paper in the bathroom, and I made a point to tell the hostess, after the first time I noticed. So I've been to bubbas 10+ times and last night was the best experience by far. I met the new manager Edmonda not because I asked for a manager but because she came up and asked how my meal was. My boyfriend and I choose to have lunch here for Fat Tuesday. We wanted good food, good drinks and a great atmosphere. That is not what we got as soon as we sat at the bar. We are both servers and I manage a restaurant on the westside. If my bartenders ever treated customers the way that the two bartenders treated us they would need to find new jobs. All of our food was so good! But every plate stayed in front of us the whole time. We weren't asked if we were done or needed boxes until we were ready to leave. I love the bloody Mary's and wanted another one but I waited exactly 12 minutes and was never offered another drink. This location doesn't have red bull which is fine, except it would be something I would like to know when I order a Vegas bomb. I've had a couple of slam diggity experiences here at ol' Bubba's. But let me preface with this; I go for the cold brews, ya dig. 33 = 33 degrees, yeah? Love it! As for the food, I have only sampled some appetizers and not tried the bulk of their menu, so I'm not sure how their pizzas and sandwiches are. Their nachos and cheesy bacon fries are really delicious though. They put a wet cheese on them AND a melted cheddar jack cheese, and boy does my inner cheese lover go wild! The textures against each other are just what I'm looking for in an appetizer. The toppings were plentiful. I will say the FIRST time I went the nachos were bigger and better, and this most recent time they were still good but did not live up to the hype I told my friends, who were anticipating a pretty loaded plate. Oh yeah, and totally try the half chicken half beef. All in all the taste outweighed the quantity, so no regrets were felt. The beers are always cold, the service is prompt, and the atmosphere is nice for Happy Hour on a Friday. The trick is leaving before the crowd swarms in and gives you dirty looks while you take up a table drinking your brews... sorrrrry! $4 Tall Shocktops all day, Goose Island IPA and Landshark were the specials my last visit. read more

Went to celebrate a birthday, but restaurant is not good for parties of more than six people. We were split up at two tables and the tables are bolted to the ground, so we couldn't move them together. I noticed many tables with a chair set in the end which blocks the walkways. Food is mediocre. Typical bar food. Not awful, but not really worth the price either. Also a very long wait for all of the meals. A glass of inexpensive wine was over $9. Wish I would have known that before I ordered two. There were no prices on the drink menu. Service wasn't flat out horrible, however none of the staff looked like they wanted to be there. They did the basics and that was bout it. No smiles. I personally would not choose to eat here again. read more

After several attempts, we were finally able to get into Bubba's at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bottom line: I was NOT impressed. First, having over 60 televisions in a place with only 59 tables in RIDICULOUS!! If you want to be a sports bar, advertising yourselves as a sports bar, NOT as a family restaurant. Second, if you are going to have music, at least have it at a comfortable level. Your employees are working in a hostile work environment with the NOISE at the level it is and those poor employees are going to be buying hearing aids by the time they are 40. The noise in the main reason I won't be back. We were being served by two young ladies today, because one is undergoing training. The service was very good and we were paid attention to and our needs responded to in a timely manner. Hubby ordered a bacon cheeseburger and said it was fine. I've seen--and eaten--better fries. They looked like the ones that we used to get out of a can called shoestring potatoes, and they didn't taste much better. I ordered the fried catfish and onion rings. The catfish was fine; the onion rings were NOT done - yes, the breading was brown-ish, but the onions inside weren't done. The cole slaw is overly "creamy" with something added that I couldn't identify; I could not finish it. Charging $2.49 for soft beverages is tantamount to highway robbery. Iced tea does NOT cost a lot to make and the company can make it up on all the beer and booze they are serving. I don't mind paying 99 cents or 1.09 for iced tea, but $2.49 is ridiculous. I am incensed that the servers have to pull off a piece of duct tape and make their own name tags to stick to their shirts. That is SO tacky and needs to be remedied with a professional-looking name tag. As I said, I won't be back. read more

I was so excited to try the fried pickles, as this is one of my favorite appetizers, but when I got their fried pickles I was sorely disappointed. Before I could even taste them, all I could smell wasnothing but flour, and as soon as I did taste them they were soggy and tasted just like flour and pickles, no additional flavoring whatsoever. We also tried their hot wings, which weren't terrible, but I would recommend more sauce for sure. I'm not sure about the salads either. They add potato straws to their salad, and in this case I had more potato straws then anything else in or on my salad, including the lettuce. Their balsamic dressing is way too sweet, and along with the potato straws it makes for a terrible salad. read more

Therefore, they cannot hear the television. They asked repeatedly to get captions on ONE tv. Just one. As this is a simple request they were still denied the equal access. They were laughed at by the waitressing staff. And when she called to speak to a manager the this morning, they laughed. And said well it isn't the law. I'm here to let you all know that Bubba's doesn't believe in equal access and the enjoyment of all of its customers. This was my first visit and had a very good experience! I was in a wheelchair and the staff was very helpful and got me a good,comfortable spot. I had the fish and chips! It was a pretty big portion that came with two sides! I had the fire fries which were awesome, and the coleslaw. There was three healthy portions of fish that were cooked perfect and was so tasty! I started my meal with a tall ice cold tecate in a frosted mug and an order of garlic knots. Let me tell you, both were outstanding! I've had garlic knots at some of the best pizza joints in N.Y. and these beat them all! Delicious! Then I had more ice cold beer and the sunshine burger which didn't disappoint. I am very disappointed. As a parent, I am appalled at what took place earlier today. My son served in the Army and toured in Afghanistan. He went into your establishment this evening and was told they couldn't serve him. He wore a leather vest that displayed patches he received from the Army. He was told he had to take the vest off or leave. My son left. My son risked his life for your/our freedom. Much like every other military soldier. Is this how we treat them? I have shared this story with many friends, relatives and active duty soldiers. On a personal note, I also work for one of the largest hospitals in the state. I will share this with them....This is unacceptable. I will not set foot in your restaurant ever again. By the way, I wasn't able to post this without a star rating. Unfortunately, Bubba's 33 no longer seems to be operating at the same level of service as they were when they were brand new. The service is not as friendly or attentive anymore, and on our last visit, it got kind of uncomfortable. Not to mention, the food I ordered last time was not up to par. I really like the casual atmosphere at Bubba's, and used to really like the food. On our past couple of visits (which have become fewer and far between) the service is often lacking, with servers neglecting to refill water and soft drinks without having to be flagged down, and being quick to drop off a check without asking if we want anything else first or even sometimes before we've finished eating! But the food has always been good, so we've returned. My husband and I visited a few months ago after having not been for a while. We both ordered burgers, a regular patty for me and a bacon patty for him. I've had their burgers before and always enjoyed them, but I was quite disappointed in what I received. The regular patty was completely bland and devoid of flavor. I've had the same burger in the past and it was always tasty. I put some mustard on it and it was fine, but what was even more disappointing was that it wasn't cooked properly. All burgers are supposed to be cooked medium well which is fine, but when I bit into mine it was quite red in the center. I do not like rare meat at all, but our server had all but disappeared after the food was dropped off so I didn't have the option to tell him about it. Instead I ate what I could, around the edges where it was cooked, and left the rest on my plate. After a while we were both finished, a woman who identified herself as management came over and asked how everything was. I expressed that it was okay but not great (despite the issues with my burger my husband enjoyed his meal well enough), but she didn't question me further on our experience despite a good portion of food being left on the plate. She cleared the plates for us since our server hadn't done so. Maybe I should have been more vocal in my disappointment, but I was trying not to be a pest since we were pretty much done eating at this point anyway. Where it gets weird, though, is that eventually our server makes it back to our table, notices that it has already been cleared, and then angrily demands to know who keeps clearing his tables? When we didn't answer right away, he asked if it was the lady in the red shirt, to which we said, "Umm, yes?" (because it was), and then he walked off angrily stating that he had told her NOT to do that! It was very uncomfortable and unprofessional to say the least. We hadn't asked her to clear the table, she took our plates as no one else had done so yet, but I don't understand why her doing so elicited such a response from the waiter. I wonder what would have happened if I'd actually complained about my undercooked burger. If it was just the burger being undercooked, I'd have chalked it up to an off night since we'd not had problems with the food before, but after being made to feel so uncomfortable on our last visit, we've been hesitant to return. Just the other night, we saw a movie next door and were looking for a late night bite to eat, and thought, oh, Bubbas! And then we thought, yeah, maybe not. Ok so I get that it's Valentine's Day and it's a busy night. But my family and I left Cheddar's to go to Bubba's because the wait was less. After waiting 30 minutes to be seated we proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for someone to at least take our drink order. People who got there after us got seated first and people who got seated after us got there food as we decided to walk out. Attn: Bubba's Management, you should be ashamed of providing customer service like that. Good food and even better venue for watching sports. The staff is awesome. They have great food choices for their vegetarian customers. Make sure to go early during popular sporting events the place will fill up. Another thing to note, during Christmas they have a special that any gift card of at least $33.00 will give you a free one topping pizza coupon to go along with the gift card. First time visiting this establishment. Our only regret was not coming sooner. Our server was Kathelene. She was courteous, professional and had a very good understanding of the menu. When I asked her about the Spicy Habanero Burger and it's sauce. She went above and beyond, not only did she bring a sample of the sauce but she also brought a few fries to taste the the sauce. I thought this was very impressive (Thumbs up). For appetizer we had Bubbas Fiesta Dip. When you read the menu and see all the ingredients that this dish has you think twice about ordering it. But once our server explained the dish to us we decided to order it. This is a well balanced and well seasoned dish. That every ingredient complements each other (Including the season chips). I had the Sunshine Burger (Medium Temperature) with sweet potato and regular fries. The burger was cooked to perfection. But the sweet potato fries were cold. This wasn't a big deal because everything else was on the spot and upon telling our server of the problem she immediately went to the kitchen and got us a fresh batch of fríes (Thumbs up). My wife ordered the Bacon Guacamole Burger (Medium Well Temperature) with tater tots. The burger was cooked to perfection. The tater tots were fresh and crispy and lightly seasoned.
