This was ordered through a 3rd party. There were no issues regarding deliver time or the order itself. The menu had more than I was anticipating. Besides traditional Mexican cuisine, they had wings and different kinds of tots available too. There were also a lot of toppings to choose from depending on what was being ordered (burrito, burrito bowl, quesadilla, etc.). I went with a burrito ($11.50) with carnitas, brown nice, pinto beans, Pico de Gallo, house salsa, red onion, pickled jalapenos, shredded cheese, lettuce, and sour cream. It appeared to be heavy after I initially picked it up, so I decided to capture the weight. The burrito came in around 1.5 pounds, appropriate I thought. It was nicely made, but there appeared to be something missing. It was solid overall, but I just felt like there was a missing component. I think the carnitas were a little too dry, but besides that, satisfying. I also had the BBQ boneless wings ($11). There were 12 to an order and they were large. My experience was - okay. I ordered a crispy chicken burrito. The chicken looked like the chicken you purchase in the freezer section of the grocery store. The burrito, costing more than it should've with add ons, was just okay. Chips and guac were great. Staff was very friendly. My biggest observation, and why I wouldn't return, is the tremendous lack of cleanliness. The floor, chairs even the walls were extremely dirty. The area where the staff was preparing the meals was very unclean as well. The counter near the register, the shelves of the stove, I could go on for a while. Even the front windows of the store itself was caked with dirt so they haven't been cleaned in quite a long time. If they aren't keeping their restaurant clean, what are the chances they practice cleanliness and food safety when storing, preparing and serving your food? I placed my order online first, the person at the front was very welcoming (older black gentleman), he even offered a variety of sauce to try and gave me some to try. The tacos were pretty good and flavorful. I just wish and now know to request for no rice or less rice in the tacos, makes it too much for one to eat (heavy) but overall it was good. Burrito place with expanded options. I've only ever had burritos, bowls, and tacos. You definitely miss out a little bit on "traditional" Tex-Mex/Mexican flavors, but sometimes you get a craving for a taco with teriyaki steak and sriracha mayo. Takeout is pretty straightforward, though it usually takes a bit longer than the estimate on their website. They're on all the apps, but ordering off of their website seems to work best. Based on my last few orders I think your best bet is to lean into the more diverse offerings. Mango habanero is my favorite sauce so far. read more

I was highly disappointed in this spot. It was dirty from the start but I didn't want to be too critical since It was my first time there. The staff was nice but ehh the presentation was not so good. I ordered the Taco Salad and the girl dug underneath the counter and out came a taco bowl. Ok where did that come from down by your feet. That didn't look to good. On to the next. There were hardly any fixins and they were preparing those per order. Salad tasted ok a lil chemically maybe it was the oil it was fried in. They have vegan options although my meal soon became non vegan, by choice. I ordered the soft tacos with vegan boca patty, bbq sauce, mild sauce, sautéed peppers & onions, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and cheese. The tacos were okay, but I love that I had full control over what I could load onto my tacos. I thought of getting a burrito since that's in their name, but I'll have to save that for a different time. I had a Pure Leaf Fuji Apple & Ginger tea to wash it all down. Yum. It's very spacious and clean inside. The walls are painted a lime green and decorated with surfing and skateboarding photos. Good music choices. Went for the first time and really enjoyed the food! We ordered taco salad (which I loveddddd), a rice bowl (fiancé loved it as well), curly fries, empanadas (beef and cheese & apple pie) and quesadilla. The empanadas were amazing! Made fresh and were so tasty. I regretted not ordering more - especially the apple pie ones! The quesadilla was great and real buttery, which was a surprise but a nice one. The curly fries were amazing (but all curly fries are amazing lol). I will def be eating here again and often! We just moved to the area so never tried and so happy we did. Overall really enjoyed my first time at one of these. Lots of menu options that other similar chains don't offer with meats, sides, and desserts. Loved trying the steak and shrimp bowl. The meat is cooked fresh right then. It had great flavor and was very cooked perfectly. The topping part was what you'd expect. Disappointed that the cooked pepper and onions are considered an upgrade though. They have great chips with the perfect crunch. My husband got a burrito with double meat and unfortunately it was so full it kinda fell apart. They probably need to double wrap like chipotle does when there's double meat. Bubbakoos catered our office for lunch. This was my first time having it. The presentation was nice and they gave us 2 large trays of chips and a large tray of shredded cheese. Fried oreos we're slightly rubbery but I guess you can't expect that fresh out of the frier taste when it's being catered. Their guacamole was delicious, spicy, with strong flavors of onion, lime and cilantro and it was chunky. The taco meat was standard. But chicken was quite dry. Overall good lunch. read more

I tried this place out because they had mailed out coupons. Food was good and ingredients were fresh. I got a burrito bowl with the hibachi steak and shrimp and I like that the meats were cooked to order. Tried as many different sauces and toppings. The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars was because of the deal with the coupon they offered. It was buy one get one free but I only ended getting $5 off my order. When I asked the staff why, they explained it was because we chose the steak and shrimp so they had to charge for extra meat. I didn't notice this anywhere on the coupon (or any up to a $X value) but I wasn't going to argue. All in all it was a cool spot but not worth the money, in my opinion. Agh this makes me so upset to write but they definitely got bought out or something because this place is not as efficient as it used to be. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for the last 4 years and it's definitely not up to par the last few months. 5 people working and there's 5 customers in here waiting on online orders. Everyone that came in were told their orders were not sent through, but then the older gentleman eventually finds the online receipt. Let me first say that Armando is by far the best there. He takes pride in his work and he loves helping others. That why I like him to take care of me always. Well the other day I asked for him and Ryan gave me a very nasty attitude when I asked for him. I have been a customer for years and if I like Armando to help me why is that a problem. I belive that Ryan shouldnt be working there . He gave me a perspective that he was racist and that is very sad. Food is hit or miss, never usually consistent. Sometimes it is good, other times not so much. The nachos have seemed to be pretty decent. The reason for my review is about the owner. His employees are wonderful and always welcome you in and they seem so happy and they put love and effort into making your food. The owner, not so much. When he makes a bowl or nachos, he rushes you to tell him what you want. He will move his hand in a circular motion signaling for you to hurry up. As a paying customer, I feel he should be patient and make the customer feel as if they are getting their moneys worth. Making the owner can learn something from his employees. read more

Visited Bubbakoo's today in Somerville, and had a Quesadilla with a side of Tots. Both were great choices. I outfitted my quesadilla with grilled and crispy chicken, which blended nicely with the cheeses. And thoroughly enjoyed the tots, they were cooked nicely. But what was really excellent were two of your sauces: the Mango Habenero and Ghost Pepper sauce. These took my meal to the whole new level. If you guys sold these sauces in a standalone bottle, I would buy instantly. Seriously, can I buy them? Haha All jokes aside, the Ghostpepper sauce had the right amount of kick with a nice sweet flavor to it, while the Mango Habenero had the perfect combination of mango and spice. I'd make this place a regular spot if I lived in the area, because the food was great and the staff was very accommodating and helpful in preparing my order. So I ordered from A Bubbakoo's via door dash for the first time last week and LOVED it! So today, when asked what I'd like to eat, of course I insisted. I specifically chose the Somerville location because I figured it'd be an even better experience, unfortunately, I was unpleasantly surprised.... tbh the food wasn't as good. It's not that there was anything wrong with the portions or the quality...it's just, the taste....the "love"....the flavors....weren't there! My Boyfriend and I were beyond disappointed, especially considering the price we paid. The buffalo cauliflower was FLAVORLESS, the steak and shrimp burrito had hardly either of those ingredients in it. The burrito bowl was cold. & as fore mentioned, the flavors were not there! (I keep saying it because I'm astounded....especially in SOMERVILLE...there's no way!) Had We known this location was going to be this disappointing we would've went to New Brunswick or somewhere entirely different The Franchise has a lot of potential and can absolutely blow Chipotle out of the water BUT NOT at the standard this store is providing. Bubbakoo's took it upon themselves to charge us for the order and have it delivered 2 hours later. That's without contacting us at all to make sure that was ok. I was introduced to this place 4 months ago and fell in love with flavors and portion size. I went once a week. Sadly I went back a couple weeks ago to find a new staff. It now has new owners. The burrito bowls used to get TWO big scoops of meat. The new owners only give ONE. I ordered my usual of one scoop beef one scoop chicken and when I went to pay I was charged for extra meat. I refused to pay the extra cost I explained to the new owner that as regulars we come here because unlike most places that fill their burritos with filler this place gave you the right portion of meat.
