Remote worker here. I go into my actual office building about once every 6 weeks and then only for an hour or so. This week I was there for 8 whole hours. Omg I knoorrrrrrr. My coworkers recommended this spot for lunch and it was in walking distance. Like honest walking distance. Not marathon walking distance IYKYK. Anyway I drove lmao. I'm on a budget and stockpiling cash since half of yinz felt like destroying the country 3 weeks ago. $10 and under was the sweet spot. I opted for the chorizo fries. Me and the group chat have been talking about the moment that nacho fries are having so how could I resist?? I got a HUGE container for $10 and stole a quick bite back at my desk. Unfortch I didn't get to really eat them until the evening when I got back home because I had calls all day but they looked and tasted just as glorious re-crisped in my air fryer. Piled high with chorizo, an abundance of thick, crispy seasoned fries, cilantro, jalapeños, cheese. Whew!! I couldn't even finish them all. I saw so many things there that I wanted. I'll definitely be back. Ample parking, eat-in or take out, efficient service, great food. We love a local spot! read more

Not much to look at but quick and the food is good. Went for a Monday lunch. The two of us ordered specials. Came here for a burrito to go. I got the carnitas. The meat was flavorful and tender and big chunks of it filled my giant burrito. I didn't have to wait long even though they were very busy. This is a very authentic Mexican spot. I wish they spruced up their interior slightly because I think I'd enjoy staying there to eat more. I'll definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu though. read more

Legit solid Mexican cuisine. The outside of the establishment looks lowkey but this place turns out some awesome burritos, guac, tacos, etc. You typically leave this place filled to the gills as the portions are respectable. If you have room for dessert, try their flan or carrot cake, so good. read more

Zooming down 22, you might miss this spot but that would be a huge mistake because the food here is soooo delicious and so fresh. Forget chipotle or whatever other fake Mexican food place you used to go to and come here for all your taco, burrito, enchilada and chimichanga needs I got the chicken chimichanga and I was soo satisfied. It was huge for decent money and incredibly tasty and flavorful. The salsa verde is so delicious. The chimichanga has tons of chicken and beans inside and it's just overall an amazing meal. This is a perfect spot for a date night, a lunch moment or for takeout. Definitely come here and tip the waiters well they are a small staff and bust their butts to make sure everyone has everything they need! Service is great. Food is even better ! read more

Most often I get the tacos and they are delicious. Their food is authentic with a bit of a twist sometimes reflected in their specials. There's not a lot of options for Mexican food in this area, so I would have to say this is the best. I always like to support small businesses rather than chain restaurants. read more

This place is the bomb. All I have ever gotten --- all my family has ever gotten -- are the hard carnitas tacos, because they are so dang good we cannot imagine getting anything else. So I cannot speak to any of the other food, but the friends who introduced me to Los Chilitos rave about everything else. Do yourselves a favor and pay them a visit. read more

What a find! Passing through on my way to Canada, needed lunch and just happened to be a mile from Los Chilitos. The previous reviews are correct - delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices. The beef barbacoa taco was fantastic and the habeñero salsa was hot and yet had a ton of flavor including a delightful smokiness. Coming from Texas where homemade tamales are part of our holiday celebration the family took a chance and ordered three dozen pork tamales from Los Chilitos to be picked up on the 23rd of December. These pork tamales were larger and much more flavorful than the mail-order ones we are used to ordering from San Antonio. I can not express how nice it is to purchase great tamales once again now that we live in New Jersey. I must say for some unknown reason my trousers have shrank! read more

This post is about Los Chilitos restaurant. We have been coming here for as long as they have been open. We drive from Flemington to enjoy this great Mexican food. Today we brought our kids in to eat. 5 of us where enjoy the food and the employee's service. When I got the bill and it's was wrong and when I asked the server about it she informed me that the owner had a 18% gratuity charge for five or more people in a party. I was totally fine with it and said that is your tip right? The response was " no it's the owners charge and we do not get the whole 18%". I was flabbergasted when I heard that! The owner is keeping part of the servers tips!!! I asked to speak to the owner and he was not available. I will also be calling to speak to the owner. I will hear him out and If feel he is full of it, I will call the labor board. He is robbing his staff!! If I am wrong about this, I will remove this post. The conversation with the server was clear and I asked twice so I was not misunderstanding her. All my years I have never stole from my employees! I hope I am wrong!! Keep you posted.. Hidden gem! My husband heard about this place after he read about it on Reddit. We were in the area and decided to stop in for dinner. The place is easy to miss but if you're on 22 east, just look for the Stewart's Root Beer and the restaurant is right before it. The decor is simple and has tables available for dine in. Casual ambience with byob. We had the enchilada, chimichanga, empanadas, loaded fries (forgot the name but it was yummy) and everything was delicious. The food is authentic, spices are on point, and their portions are generous. The prices are really reasonable too. Im always so excited when we find an authentic ethnic restaurant in the area. The place was pretty busy and they only had once waitress. However they services was great. Fast, and efficient, no complaints. Can't wait to go back!! read more

Nice, friendly people serving delicious food. Fresh made tortilla chips served with well seasoned guacamole. Nachos were loaded. Chimichangas were stuffed and perfectly fried.
