Steak Tacos 5 per order w/ same meat

On a late night when there's nowhere else open this place is definitely my go to. I was a bit disappointed that was a bit far from my house but it was well worth the 15 minute drive at 1 AM. They know how to do it and they know how to do it right the food was amazing. Service was quick and easy, and they made sure to accommodate my request for extra limes, and when going in the restaurant, it seems to be very cultural ambiance.

Planned a lunch with my office team and found out the restaurant was CLOSED. Google showed it was open. Tried calling, no one answered. No signs outside the restaurant regarding updates hours or anything. Waste of time. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Acapulco. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The Pollo Relleno was delicious with a nice rising heat. Friendly service from Evelyn, cold Corona beer, an authentically decorated dining room, and festive Cumbia music. Honestly felt like I was on vacation! 5-Stars, can't wait to return!

This was much bigger than it appeared from the outside. The kitchen was in the front and a dining area towards the back. The order was picked up and ready upon arrival. They had lots of options ranging from tacos to pizza to burgers with reasonable pricing. For starters, the guacamole ($6.95) and the queso fundido con chorizo ($9.45) was ordered. The guacamole was fresh and came with what appeared to be homemade chips, very appetizing. The chorizo came with onions in a chipotle sauce with tomatoes along with cheddar and Oaxaca cheese. I was hoping this would have a more of a kick to it, but it did not. Regardless, this was tasty, great combination of the cheeses and baked chorizo. It went even better when I made my own mini burrito with it. For an entree, I had the plato marimba ($13.95). This consisted of chorizo, salted steak, chicken, Serrano chiles, refried beans, and rice. There were also 3 tortillas provided. This was alright. There were large pieces of chicken and steak given. The chicken was flavorful while the steak was bland. The chorizo had an odd texture, but had plenty of flavor. The combination of all the toppings made up for the poor taste of the steak. Will I go back? Yes.

Solid place for authentic tacos and Burritos. Love the Burrito mole and the chorizo tacos! The portions are fairly large, so definitely come hungry!

Came here for our wedding anniversary dinner and loved it. A nice restaurant with authentic food. I ordered the sopes with carnitas and it was perfect. From the tortilla to the beans to the meat. 10/10 would recommend. The margaritas were also very good. The waitress was very friendly and complimented my non Hispanic husband an on his Spanish. I also enjoyed the music.

Chips & salsa (they bring you your own two bottles of salsa and plates on the side)

Great place to get traditional Mexican food! Strip mall located right off the highway. There is a great vibe here with Latin music playing and beautiful decor on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Their drink menu is large and they have tons of flavored margaritas (regular or frozen, or you can get a pitcher of any flavor for only $29!). They also have a ton of options on their menu - plenty of appetizers, entrees, and specials to pick from. Both Kevin and I ordered tacos (I got fish and he got chicken). Positives: they give you double layers on the soft tacos, which makes them easier to eat; tacos were juicy; food was filling; great presentation; amazing margarita! Negatives: you can only order 3 of the fish tacos (no less); tacos weren't super flavorful - they only come with cilantro and onions and whatever meat you choose. I wish they had more options for the taco toppings.

Got here around 2pm to an empty restaurant so it was nice for my overtired but refuse to nap toddler and my 9 month old daughter who refuses to sit still. Restaurant was very simple with tables along the left side and restrooms on the right. I wouldn't say it's a big place but it's a decent size. Since it was just us, we ordered right away. I got the birria tacos and my husband got the steak enchiladas. Holy birria those tacos were fantastic. The taco shells had just the right amount of crispy softness where it wasn't overly cooked to make it a hard shell. When you bit into it, the juices came out from the other side of my taco and the meted cheese was nice and stringy- if you know what I mean. The meat was cooked perfectly where it wasn't too dry and chewy. I drowned my tacos in the sauce they give you and housed my 3 tacos. It was the perfect amount where I was full after eating but not overly stuffed. My husband loved his steak enchilada. I tried a few bites and I loved the spicy kick to it...so if you're not a spicy eater, I'd skip out on this. It was the type of spice here you know the dish is spicy but it's not overpowering where I feel like my tongue and esophagus is on fire. My husband loved the little kick but was still able to enjoy the meal without wanted to eat a tub of ice cream. He also ordered the mango shake which was absolutely delicious. Super creamy and that mango sweetness was perfect. Our hostess was great- she talked of my daughter and made sure we were ok even though we were the only ones there! I definitely recommend if you're in the area!

I think we both agreed this is just Tex-Mex. She remembered it being really good, so we went. And…read moresince I used to go to Jose Tejas regularly when my workplace was across from one, I can offer the following comparisons: * Ambiance: Quieter here. More upscale. Instead of going for the festive angle of Mex, they go for the decor. * Service: Slower. I remember Jose Tejas always had someone come by your table to refill drinks, check on your order... not here. Ordering was awkward, although at least they got our orders right. We just got water - I would have loved to specify "lemon, no ice", but both waters arrived with lemon and ice. * Food: OK. Edit. I was going to say "smaller", but then I saw that Tejas' portions started downsizing around the time we left town. So maybe it's actually on par here. I really liked the taste of my barbacoa, but the barbacoa taco eater across from me was less impressed. The rice and beans were very m'eh; I think you get more flavor at Jose, but second edit - my other review said you get more salt, so that might again cancel the advantage. You do get a nice side of guac on your house specialty plate, which is rare to find for free (not even listed on the menu), but I paid more than my date for what might have even been less food. (She got three tortillas, I got two...) Finally, the meal started with smoky but rather flavorless salsa, no heat at all, that came with our thin opening chips - the salsa is hotter at Tejas, the chips are thicker, but much saltier. * Intangibles: This one's in a mall. Restaurant wasn't all that crowded, but parking isn't the easiest with all the other shops. Whereas Jose was standalone, but so crowded that parking wasn't the easiest either. Final edit. If you put the two restaurants side by side, I would pick the Jose I used to know by a nose, but Uncle Julio's wins over the last time I went to Jose. I would have to go back to compare. Caveat eator.

Once we were seated, it took about 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. When someone finally did, he was very apologetic and welcoming. Our server, Luis, was great--he took the time to walk us through the menu and checked on us throughout the meal. Excellent customer service on his part. I ordered the Carne Asada, a marinated 21-day aged outside skirt steak, but unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the flavor. It tasted pretty bland to me, and the side dish wasn't what I expected. I was anticipating jasmine rice, but it tasted more like quinoa. Overall, the food just wasn't my thing, so I don't see myself returning. That said, Luis provided great service and deserves recognition.
