Great Dive Bar with a cool history. Me and a friend of mine had a girls night playing pool and listening to the juke box, so fun. The bartender was very sweet and always on her game. With as crowded as it got later in the evening, she never missed a beat. Great atmosphere for relaxed fun and games with its own charm and history. read more

Gave this place 3 tries and was treated like trash every time. My husband got a pen thrown at him by the bartender just for kindly asking for a new one since the one she gave didn't work. The second visit he gave the bartender $40 for two 6-packs and she somehow hid a $20 in her sleeve and refused to sell the beers if he didn't give her more money. We were nice enough to just give her more instead of just losing the $20. Apparently she needs it more than us... Third and final visit was when we were smart enough not to give her cash but she rejected the card since she wanted it to have a chip. A card that has been used in much better places than this one. Once again gave her what she wanted and decided to never come back again. Bad employees definitely ruin a place that is close to our new home and could have been a nice spot to relax. read more

No one should visit this place. Service sucks, ambiance sucks, I never got the chance to try the food, but be careful if you order soup. Considering how the bartenders act, they might throw the hot soup in your face. Those so called bartenders in that place, shouldn't belong anywhere around places where there is people involved. Management should just get robots instead. At least, robots will great you and acknowledge you, when you're at the bar. read more

We stopped by McCormicks Restaurant located in the Somerset Hotel on New Years Eve for a drink. I've been to this bar more than a few times but I am not a regular. They had a small buffet of food available by the window. The bar was crowded with locals and we found one unoccupied seat at the bar. My wife took the seat and I stood. Only two bartenders were working on this very busy night. My wife motioned to the female bartender and she acknowledged back. She was working on a multi-drink order and we knew she would get to us. Wrong! Almost fifteen minutes and we still have not had a bartender come to our end of the bar but they are making drinks for people who are just walking in. We got up and left. McCormicks has horrible bartenders and not enough of them. They don't need our money so I would suggest that you don't bother going to this mediocre beer and shot joint. read more

Never in my life seen a worse bartender or been pissed off more at someone in service industry . I ordered 2 coronas and the bartender without saying anything to welcome someone ,pointed to the fridge of beers. I thought maybe she didn't have anymore at the bar , so I grab 2 beers and pay for my beers with the other bartender. I didn't know the drinks from the fridge were for take out only. Well,the bartender who told me to go to the fridge made sure that I know in the worse way possible. I had my beer in my hand and she just grabs out of my hand along with the tip I left for the bartender. She said in the most rude tone ever "This is only for take out". When I explained to her that I ordered the 2 beers but you told me to grab them from the fridge she acted as I had made the worst crime in state of New Jersey. At this point I was so mad at the way she acted, I asked for the tip back because I wasn't provided a service)I tipped 100% of the bill) , she gives me 50 Cents which wasn't what I tipped. I started arguing with her and she threatens to call the police. I used to be a bartender and a waiter and always make sure to tip generally and be nice to service workers. Someone like her shouldn't be in a business that deals with people. She should be a prison guard. I went to this place because it had good reviews but it will be first and last time stepping foot in there. read more

My boyfriend went to this establishment tonight and was treated terribly. The bartender would not open a tab for him, would not serve him the drink that he wanted, and made rude comments throughout the entire transaction. It would seem that people of color are not welcome in this establishment. We will never go to this place again. read more

This place is a dump! Walked in and walked out. The pictures do NOT represent what this 'so called' restaurant looks like inside. Don't be fooled, they are completely misleading. I won't even begin to mention the odors and the unfriendly welcome by someone at the bar. What a poor reflection on Somerville's successful restaurant scene. read more

Big bar and an adjacent restaurant seating area. I sat at the bar. Lots of seating. Six taps - nothing special. I had a Yuengling ($2.50) but they also had ShockTop. Bartender was nice enough but not polished. This place was probably a great bar when it was last redecorated - back in the 70"s??? But the decor is very dated and just a little dingy, And it does not help that it is part of the Somerset Hotel which looks downscale from the street. Someone should buy the building, turn it into condos and clean up the look at street level. You could fit two or three restaurants on the ground floor. I would stop by again grab a beer and maybe try a burger. Might be OK. read more

This is a great dive if you're looking to not be bothered by anyone and just hang. I love going here because I can play whatever I want on the juke box and no one says a word. They have many pool tables and darts which is always fun. I've never had their food however it's a very simple menu with just bar food. Oh and i forgot to mention they have cheap prices. They also sell package goods including hard liquor. read more

This us a very special place in a neat old building. The bar is just great, one of those places where time stood still. If you are a "Twin Peaks" fan or you just like atmosphere, this place is for you. It's the kind of place where you would expect to hear Brenda Lee and see women in clip-on earrings and pencil skirts. owner charges people 1$ to use the jukebox then will cancel a song he doesnt like . why charge us 1$ to pick and song if if your going to cancel on it.. you making us waste are money and cant even listen to the song. its really messed up and i wont be coming back what a jerk off read more

I used to love playing pool here but the last time I went Was literally my last time. As soon as I walked in the regular bartender with the shaved head was using the N-word hard R and all. He probably said it six times saying crazy racist comments it blew my mind. I can't even imagine what would have happened had a person of color walked it. It still just blows my mind how everyone there was agreeing with him and not speaking up. Seriously disgusted. read more
