I first met Mr. Bashaw at a training he did on something called a Home Path Renovation Loan. After the training, I contacted Mr. Bashaw and completed a loan application. It all went south after that. There were communication problems from beginning to end. His team failed to clearly explain (I honestly don't think Bubba or his team knew the Home Path Renovation Loan process) that a HUD consultant would need to be involved with the Home Path Renovation Loan for which we applied. This oversight costs us weeks of critical time and contributed to our loan file being significantly delayed. The most remarkable error (one which I reported to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) was that Bubba's team ordered the appraisal through an Appraisal Management Company that was rejected by the investor underwriting our loan. This error resulted in even further delays in our loan file and caused our seller to require a substantial increase in earnest money commitment in order to extend our contract date. This mistake was simply a matter of Mr. Bashaw and his team not understanding the loan product he sold us. We ultimately switched lenders and were able to close on our home, but the drama and rollercoaster ride we were on because of Bubba and his team's incompetence was an experience I would not wish on anyone. read more

This was our first time to deal with the selling and buying of a home at the same time and we were not prepared for the stresses we were going to go through. After wasting so much time with a big bank and getting the worst news with about two weeks to go, Austin's Lender stepped up and delivered in amazing fashion. Everybody was a joy to speak with and did everything to set our minds at ease. Austin's Lender kept in contact with us and kept us in the loop about the process. This is something we were NOT getting from the big bank. They never made us feel as if we were a bother. To compare and contrast, I ended up going to three lenders/brokers. The first one, a national company, took a full year and never got it done. The second, based in Houston, used tactics to coerce the homeowner to contribute more while at the same time working me so that THEY could come out with more profit. I wasn't having any of that. Then I found Bubba and Pepper. I finally found out why the first lender took so long. Seems my debt to income ratio was not acceptable to FHA and I needed to refinance a commercial property to re-balance the issue. Too bad the first lender didn't tell me that. Presumably, because the first lender doesn't do commercial loans. Anyway, Pepper and Bubba got the job done. I recommend them for diligence, tenacity, and focus. Give a call. Nice folks! read more

I own Alamo Wealth Builders, and have transacted over 100 deals and I can tell you that Bubba and Pepper are exceptional, well more pepper ;) they are on top of it when it comes to the best funding programs and coordination to close the funding. Long story short, this guy is all hat and no cattle. His loan officer assured me were were "golden" because of our credit, income and assets. Well, a month into this deal we missed our first closing date. We were about to miss our second closing date and neither Bubba or his loan officer would return our calls or emails...they just completely ignored us. Just before missing our second closing date, I had to get a non-owner occupant hard money loan to save the deal which had a huge equity spread. Hard money is expensive and Bubba's failure to follow through will cost me $11K in points and thousands more in interest. STAY AWAY FROM HIM! read more

You're a joke Bubba...everyone knows that. All parties involved buyer and seller filed complaints against you...keep posting your lying Bullshit and I'll start posting the ACTUAL EMAIL CHAIN SHOWING YOUR A FUCKING MORON!!! So Bubba complained and asked yelp to remove the review...I will not stop because it's not right for this joke to do to anyone else what he did to me! He lied constantly. He would ask for documentation and when provided he needed additional documentation all of the sudden. This is due to his lack of knowledge of lending and the real estate business in general. He had NO idea of FHA requirements regarding student loans until A WEEK before my closing! The law was enacted over a year ago and any competent lending professional would have had kept abreast of the current law. This caused me to have to get my loan changed to a conventional last minute, as in less than a week before closing. My closing date was set for that next Tuesday, he decided to take that Friday before off, and the Monday BEFORE my closing was a holiday, so there was no room for screw ups (really risky when dealing with someone as incompetent as Bubba). At around 6pm the Friday BEFORE MY CLOSING (that's after close of business FYI) the title company called my realtor to ask where the documents were for closing! Well of course this douche bag couldn't be bothered. He ignored texts and calls all weekend claiming to be unavailable because he "didn't have wifi" (he clearly is ignorant of how cell phone networks work). Bubba was in town, Bubba was at his kids middle school graduation IN AUSTIN TEXAS (last time I checked there was pretty premium cell phone service there) posting BS ON FACEBOOK ALL WEEKEND (he's gonna have to show the rest of us how to do that with no cell phone service or internet)! My closing almost fell through and I literally closed 2 minutes before close of business on Tuesday (closing was scheduled for 11 am)! This didn't close because of Bubba, this closed because I don't let worthless people and companies dictate my life and rode their ass ALL DAY PESTERING THE CORPORATE OFFICE UNTIL I GOT THE DAMB THING DONE! A complaint was filed against NRL AND Bubba with the state...hopefully they take care of this incompetent person doing business he has no business doing before he screws someone out of a lot of money - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NRL OR ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH THEM THEY ARE INCOMPETENT SCAM ARTISTS! Let me start by saying it was not an easy transaction due to the property type we were looking to purchase as well as being our first commercial deal. Bubba and Pepper were the perfect team. A biggie for me was, they were always available to take a call and handle issues promptly. After some hard work, we were successful in funding the transaction.
