I never had a bureka before but after this place, I'm gonna make sure I always get one in New York. This place was so cute in Greenwich Village and the staff were nice as well. As for the bureka itself, we got the spinach artichoke and it was so good. The crust was flaky and light and the filling added a lot of flavor. It paired so well with the sauces and the pickles. It all comes together for an amazing culinary experience.

This burekas place is UNREAL! I loved the breakfast box and how it came with hard boiled eggs, burekas, tahini, cucumbers and pickles, and a tomato dip which is my favorite, just like my safta makes it. It was 12/10!!!!! The owner is so nice and friendly- I love supporting locally owned small businesses and good people. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I'd definitely recommend trying Buba Bureka! Burekas are savory pastries, and this spot came highly recommended. Two friends and I visited around 1 p.m. on a Saturday and were happy to find that there were only a few people in line and all the flavors were available. We'd heard the best things about the spinach artichoke and potato burekas ($18 each), so we decided to split those two and order more if we were still hungry. After placing our order, we managed to grab one of the few "seating" spots (an outdoor small bench with a table rest and a standing table). The burekas came out hot about 5-10 minutes later, cut into four pieces each and served with pickles, olives, three sauces (schug, tahini, and tomato amba), plus two halves of an egg sprinkled with flaky salt. I really appreciated all the accompaniments -- they made it feel more like a rounded meal . My favorite sauces were the schug, which had great flavor with a little kick to it, and the tahini. The tomato one was a bit watery. I expected the spinach artichoke to be my favorite bureka, but the potato one actually ended up winning that spot by a narrow margin. The spinach artichoke was tasty but the flavor of the spinach and artichoke filling was milder than I'm used to. I believe the potato filling came with subtle caramelized onions, which was a nice touch. The pastries were perfectly flaky -- hearty, yet still light. I just wished there was a bit more filling since the edges were mostly pastry. I enjoyed the filled bites plain and used the sauces for the outer, flakier parts. We also had the chance to meet the lovely owner, Ben Simon Tov, who kindly treated us to their new sweet bureka -- a brown butter sweet corn custard with blackberry compote ($7). It was smaller but delicious! Again, I liked eating the center with the custard plain and dipping the edges into the compote. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I'd say if you're hungry or coming for a full meal, it would be best to get your own. If you're coming for a lighter breakfast or snack, then sharing works well! While I probably won't come back often since I tend to eat on the healthier side, Buba Bureka is absolutely worth trying at least once. I'd consider coming back to try different seasonal flavors!

Ever since I first saw the alluring red boxes of Buba Bureka grace my TikTok, I was craving to try. It was a sunny, hazy late summer morning in the West Village on that lucky, fateful day. A weekday, and there was no line. Once I ordered, a 10ish min wait, and I finally had the iconic red box in my hands -- a piping hot, fresh bureka and all the fixins. Ate it standing at the bar table outside. Dammnnnnn so delicious!! Life is full of disappointments, but Buba Bureka did not disappoint! The pastry was savory and crispy, the spinach artichoke filling flavorful and creamy. The piquant, sour, rich, bright, spicy, vibrant flavors of jammy egg, pickles, olives, schug, tahini, grated tomato, provided perfect contrast. My favorite bite was the juicy fresh tomato with the salty savory bureka. Such a great Israeli-style breakfast.

ummmmm this was SO much better than i expected and i had high expectations. i don't know what i was envisioning but it was literally 10x more delicious. i savored every bite. i walked in on a saturday afternoon and there was no line. super small inside only like 2 tables so be prepared to eat elsewhere. i want to go back and try all of the flavors!

Long stroll around Washington Square, SoHo and the Village with a friend, I knew we were near Buba (and Salt Hanks). I knew I had a better chance that my friend would want to share at Buba so we went there first. No line at lunchtime, after Labor Day?! Lucky timing for us. We had the potato bureka and enjoyed every bite, including all the extras (egg, olives, pickles, schug, crushed tomatoes). $18 Had a nice chat with one of the partners (sorry don't know name, without beard) ... I was the customer who asked if they would consider offering 2 flavors in one order (half and half). I definitely want to come back to try the cheese, corn and artichoke, but need another friend open to sharing. Delish, thank you! Hope you expand to other locations in the future. Finally, be on the lookout for their upcoming cookbook. Mazel tov!

Absolutely loved the food. The spinach artichoke bureka was very yummy. The boxes are a bit pricy but definitely worth it. What would make it even better is if the egg is soft boiled and warm. I loved the sauces. Wish the olives didn't seem old. Would highly recommend

Buba Bureka has officially stolen my breakfast-loving heart. Tucked away in the neighborhood, this cozy spot serves the flakiest, most flavorful burekas I've had. We tried the spinach/artichoke and corn flavors--both were packed with savory fillings and wrapped in golden, crispy pastry that melts in your mouth. Each bureka comes with perfectly boiled eggs and a side of tomato sauce that balances the richness so well. Not only is the food delicious, but it's also a surprisingly wholesome and satisfying breakfast. The portions are generous without feeling heavy, and everything tastes homemade in the best way. The vibe is casual and warm, and the staff is super friendly. It's the kind of place you'll find yourself craving again the next morning. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a comforting and unique breakfast/lunch spot!

Huge fan of Breads Bakery's potato bureka, so when I heard that the Breads Bakery owner was a part owner here, I knew I needed to come check it out! I'm a huge fan of burekas and this one did not disappoint! I got the potato, and filling came out warm and the dough perfectly flaky! I also like how they provide 3 different sauces to eat alongside your bureka, and some pickles, olives, and hard boiled egg. It's definitely a great breakfast for one, or two!

Got to meet the owner on our food tour earlier this month. Funny and kind guy who runs such a unique eatery. Haven't had anything like this in my life and so glad we got to stop here on the tour. I'm not sure this would be something I'd normally stop for on my own, and now I can't wait to come back. So glad we got to learn about this awesome spot! We enjoyed our food and all the toppings and sauces that came with it. Highly recommend if you're in the area. If the smell of all the tasty food or the line out the door doesn't convince you please listen to this review and try for yourself!

First off, the burekas are 5 stars. I'll get to my issues in a minute. I love all the varieties of products across the borek belt - from Tunisian briq (which I'll be eating in sunny Sidi Bou Said in a few weeks) to the gül böreği that I pick up from Simit Sarayı as soon as I land at IST, I love all things borek. The Levantine boureka is expertly executed here - with a dab of tahini, it is honestly ethereal. My gripe? They need to limit the number of bourekas per order given the amount of hype here, or prioritize small orders like Apollo Bagels does to manage their line. I was stuck behind a very inconsiderate customer (you know who you are Natalie) who ordered 10 borek plates at a busy time of the morning breakfast rush. They're still selling out early, so these types of orders should be limited in some way by the store.

    Elizabeth E.

Wow!! I am totally amazed by the quality of the product and how unlike this food choice is from anything else in NYC. These flakey bagel/croissant hybrids are absolutely to die for and are stuffed with all kinds of things. A little pricey but that's because you're getting a crazy fresh and specific product. They also put a whole egg on the plate. That alone costs them $1-2 in food costs. Anyways, don't miss this spot. They are only open for breakfast & early lunch so beware of their hours. Lovely service Nd ambience. 5/5. We'll be back SOON!!

Delicious cheese burekas with tomato soup/basil oil and pickles.

From start to finish everything missed the mark: The hummus was bland and tasted like someone forgot the spices. The doma (dolmas) were disappointing and didn't have the rich flavor they should. Even the baklava, which should be a sweet highlight, was dry, lackluster, and honestly not enjoyable. The Turkish coffee was so bitter it was almost undrinkable -- if you like bitter coffee, maybe it's your thing, but it wasn't what I expected. They market themselves as Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine, but what I ate didn't come close to what I'd consider good food in that category. My stomach was still growling afterward -- and not in a "I want more" way, but in a "why did I eat this?" way. The staff and service were fine and the atmosphere is pretty, but at the end of the day it's just not worth it when the food itself is so underwhelming. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or tasty Turkish/Middle Eastern food.

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish.
