Dr. Bryan was nice at first but every appointment felt rushed. and then she started talking to me about my weight gain. I started at 140lbs and currently have gained 30 lbs within 30 weeks. I go on walks, eat fairly healthy so this is just my body doing what it needs to do. AND I feel good. I do not feel out of breath going on walks. But she insisted on lecturing me about the weight gain in one of my appointments around 26 weeks saying just to watch it. I just did my 30 week check up (and brought my husband along to hear what she had to say) and she lectured me for 15 minutes on how my weight gain is WAYYYYY too much. I explained that I was drinking almost a gallon of water a day, going on walks 4x a week and keeping my calories under 2,000 and she said that couldn't be true. She said at this rate I was looking to have a 9-10 lb baby, I should cut out all sweets and anything "fun", and she had the nerve to say that she would like me to not gain anymore weight and she would actually like to see the scale a few pounds less the next time I saw her. (WHICH WOULD BE ONLY TO PICK UP MY MEDICAL RECORDS BECAUSE I CHANGED DOCTORS!) I am all about being healthy during pregnancy, and not putting your baby at risk, but the real questions she should have been asking me were what I was eating, was I staying active, how did I feel. I do not believe the number on the scale was the best indicator since I feel great! AND my blood glucose was perfectly normal! Fortunately, I had my husband there to tell me that she was out of line and that she was 100% wrong. But I cannot imagine how some of her other patients feel if they are there alone. I DO NOT recommend Dr. Bryan to anyone. read more
