It was a little bit out of the way, but we said let's go for it we're not in a hurry. When you first walk in, we were greeted and welcomed. They asked if we had ever been there, and they explain the menu. This would not be the first encounter with employees. Every single one we talk to was so polite and so welcoming. The music was awesome and the food was delicious. This will not be the last time I eat here and I have thought of it a few times since our visit. We got a Nashville hot sandwich and Holy Chicken. I wish I could rate my experience 3.5 stars...4 stars is a little high, but 3 doesn't seem fair. Had brunch with husband and kiddo today. Upon arrival, there was a small line, but there is ample seating- no wait once our order was placed. Cashier at the counter was extremely friendly, took our order, and read it back to us before cashing us out. Unfortunately when our order came up, the runner took our order to another table. When they advised her the order wasn't theirs, although they'd also ordered Mac and Cheese for their kiddo, she dropped the Mac and Cheese off and took the rest of our food back to the kitchen where they sat for a good 10-15 minutes while they made another Mac and Cheese for OUR kid. (How do I know this? It's an open kitchen, and I sat hungrily watching our sandwich and salad sit there) After awhile, our Mac and Cheese came up, but our order continued to sit a few minutes while the runners casually cleaned up tables and did other dining room tasks. Upon flagging one down to help us out (I was quite hungry, and at this point salivating watching our food sit), she went behind the counter to gather our order...seemed pretty annoyed that I'd even asked for help. (I felt bad asking, and even said "I'm so sorry....I don't want to be 'that person', but I can see our order sitting there, and I'm bordering on hangry...could you please help us out?"). Welp. The actual runner took over for her, grabbed our meal- thanking us for our patience, and dropped the food off. I ordered a Fried Chicken Salad, Mimosa, and Cold Brew. My husband ordered some sort of chicken sammy, and our kid ordered the kids Mac and Cheese. Salad was just ok...fried chicken was a little salty for my liking, and was extra crisp in the salad. Mimosa was also just ok... Cold brew was good. Kid had two bites of the Mac and Cheese and would not finish it, but she is very picky. Chicken sandwich seemed to have been enjoyed well enough by my husband. Rating kicked up from 3 to 4 due to the customer service overall- cashier was extra friendly, and folks frequented guests in the dining room to see how we were doing. Nice touch. Take it from your east coast buddy this place was amazing. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted and made to feel welcome. The young lady at the front was extremely informative and knew the menu well. After being seated the customer service was superb. The woman assisting us was so sweet I think her name was Sani. She checked on our table and made sure that everything was to our liking. The dishes we had were: The holy chicken!!! 10/10 the waffle was DELICIOUS without needing to add syrup. The loaded fries with the loaded cheese definitely hit that carb spot. Ask for a side of their ranch and pour it up. The chicken and waffle allows you to mix and match your chicken strips- so have it with the variety of style they provide. He asked if it was my first time and took the time to throughly explain the menu. He gave me plenty of time to make my options without rushing me. I ended up getting the strawberry and whipped cream waffle with a hot honey chicken breast on the side. I went to Bruxie for dinner tonight. I had to try the classic chicken and waffles. The chicken was delicious, moist and tender. The breading had a slight kick to it and was a little bit too salty, but overall was pretty good. The waffle had a good flavor but came out cold. I know it's very hard to serve a hot waffle, but I felt like it could have been at least a little warm. The interior is very nice. They also have a nice outdoor seating area on Rosecrans. The employees seemed very nice. I didn't notice any issues even though they've only been open a few days, other than the cold waffle. The only thing that was kind of annoying is they have one of those cash registers that shames you into tipping. I think it's ridiculous to have these at fast food places.
