This was my first time going to this Bruxie location. I've been to other locations and really liked the food in the past. Unfortunately, this meal was a miss for me and my family. My friend took me to Bruxie's for the first time and overall it was pretty solid! I got the original waffle chicken sandwich and for only $13, it was very worth it! The sandwich was huge and very tasty. The chicken was both cooked and fried very well and the chili honey with the slaw complemented everything else. The waffle itself tasted great too and I really enjoyed the overall unique concept of the sandwich. Let's start by saying I have been a Bruxie fan since the original stand near Chapman College in OC when you grabbed your Sammie and ate in the parking lot. I love this new restaurant too with ample space to dine solo or bring a crowd. It is a great place to grab a quick meal or linger with your buds. All is freshly made with quality ingredients. I love the crispy crunchy waffles which hold up to the fillings, the delicious handmade shakes which seem a tad bit healthier with fresh fruit additions and cold brews with seasonal creams at just 4 to 6 dollars. Update: I've been a loyal Bruxie customer for a long time, often ordering weekly. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. I placed an order through the Bruxie app, and when it arrived via DoorDash, it was missing drinks and a chicken tender. I immediately contacted the store, only to be told I needed to dispute it with DoorDash. After following up with DoorDash, they informed me there was no way to refund the missing items and advised me to call the store again. This frustrating back-and-forth left me without a resolution. As much as I love Bruxie, this level of customer service, from both the store and DoorDash, has left me no choice but to reconsider ordering again. A great product can't make up for poor service, and this experience has unfortunately soured what was once my favorite spot. read more

Bruxie has landed at Apollo Landing! A few months ago I spotted the sign on Rosecrans Ave that Bruxie would be opening here and I've been eagerly awaiting since. I've been to Bruxie many years ago at their Orange location and have been a fan since! Today was the day that Bruxie had their grand opening! The folks working there were friendly and efficient and lines moved fast. I chose to get their Holy Chicken as well as their Creme Brûlée and Strawberries. For drinks; I got to try their Strawberry Lemonade as well as their Iced Coffee. Wow! Both dishes were delightful! The portion size are big and perfect for sharing. The Holy Chicken was $14 and well worth the price. It had a giant piece of maple glazed chicken along with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, sriracha Mayo and a sunny side up egg. Can we say winner winner chicken dinner? The chicken was nice and crisp! The egg, bacon, sriracha mayo perfectly compliment the chicken. I loved this waffle sandwich and will definitely get this again. The Creme Brûlée and Strawberries made for a nice dessert! It had the perfect sweetness to it and was not to heavy. This one was only $8 and was quite the treat! Drinkwise; I enjoyed both the Strawberry Lemonade and Iced Coffee. Both drinks were all you can drink. I'm definitely even more of a fan of Bruxie now. 07/2/2023 Holy Chicken, Batman!! This is better than Roscoe's. Fight me on this and tell me I'm crazy. You want to make the comparison, waffle for waffle, chicken for chicken? Maple syrup to maple syrup, because this one is spicy maple syrup and there is sriracha mayo. Maybe it was a good night for me on the spice level. I know I was definitely hungry. I asked about the spicy tots versus the regular tots that I ordered and Tait said it's like Cajun seasoning but quite as spicy. I thought it was like those red chili flakes you put on pizza but half the heat and more of a smokey kind of taste. I should have asked for more dipping sauce. I like to share my tots unlike that guy in that movie stuffing his pockets with tots. I think this is a great addition to Apollo Landing and good healthy competition being right next door to Shake Shack. I may have shot myself in the foot for sharing the Grand Opening Celebration that I saw advertised. I thought it was this Friday, like today. I'll just come back next week for a beer and another Holy Chicken. They should rename it to "Better Than Roscoe's". They could rename it to Tim's Combo. Honestly, I didn't know I was going to like this place as much as I did. A coworker of mine, and I came here on a whim because we couldn't really figure out what we wanted and spotted this place from the road. I think I might've gone to the Orange County location a long time ago but I'm not really sure. This place definitely had a new store opening feel. We were greeted enthusiastically and you can kind of tell that they were working out some kinks if any and there seemed like there was a traveling manager there doing some operational quality control. This place has a fun vibe to it. Great for work lunches and probably on the weekend as well. As for the actual food, I thought it was fantastic. The chicken was really well done with the great crisp and great seasoning. The waffle and the tots were also perfectly crispy. Everything was just really well done. It was a lot of food for a meal so I took half of it back to the office. I reheated the leftovers later in a microwave and everything was seriously still crispy. Like surprisingly almost fresh crispy. It is kind of pricey, but like I said you get a lot of food. I ended up paying a little over $20 for a meal, but you split that into two meals haha. One of my go to spots near my work. I don't know what it is about this place as in the end, its a little pricey. I guess I'll just say its comfort food for me as it just hits the spot. The Original is the way to go. Just the combination of the nice thin crispy waffle, the slaw and the spicy honey.... it makes the perfect combination, its delicious and so satisfying. Also I get the tots over the waffle fries, Both are good but the tots just have that extra crisp to it and a bit more flavorful. Had to try the fried pickles as I saw it on the chalk board cause I love fried pickles. This was a loss, I did not like these at all, most of the pieces where sliced too thick, close to a half inch thick I would say. Needs to be way thinner as the pickle to batter ratio has to be perfect. The batter was also falling off the pickle, leaving the pickle naked while you where eating it. Also be careful because that pickle juice is hot when it first comes to your table. The service here is great, everyone is so nice and the food comes quick. read more

I placed a to go order, so I wasn't able to enjoy the dining area. However it's really tidy and spacious. The young lady who took my order was really nice and offered me water while I waited for my order. The food wasn't my absolute favorite, because it was bit cold and it just didn't feel memorable. The packaging was absolutely cute though. But I was craving something breakfast related, so this did fulfill me at the moment. Would I choose to try again and give it another chance, maybe. Such a great addition to the South Bay! This is a great spot to check out. They have great waffles, the chicken has their own unique spices. Even their buttermilk fried chicken salad is delicious! And, you can get it with grilled chicken! The avocados they add to it are at perfection too. Just right, no brown spots. The staff who work here are so nice! Every single one of them! They have free parking in their lot shared with other restaurants like Tender Greens and Shake Shack as well as Philz and Randy's Donuts. I'll be honest, I'm not sure why this place has so many 5 star reviews. The staff is fantastic. Each time I have been here, they have been super friendly, willing to help with suggestions and do a great job of explaining the menu. The staff, in a vacuum, is 5/5 stars. Then we get to the food. The menu LOOKS and SOUNDS amazing. It's like all day brunch with their chicken and waffle varieties and you can choose to get chicken entrees or waffle entrees on their own. I have had one of their waffle chicken sandwhiches that came with Nashville chicken and a fried egg placed between two waffles and syrup on the side. Sounds and looks great, but the flavor was... surprisingly average. I was expecting this dish to be bursting with flavor, but it just wasn't. The Nashville chicken was not even spicy. Like a 3/10 heat level. The waffle taste fine, but nothing more than that. I came back recently and gave this place a second try with their Nashville chicken sandwich. Sadly, still the same 3/10 spice and very average overall flavor. The waffle fries had a great, crispy texture, but were overall pretty plain. I wanted to love this place, but I don't think I will be back for a 3rd visit. If I am paying $15-$20 for a chicken sandwhich and waffle fries, then it has to be fantastic, and it is just not here. I ordered the original fried chicken + waffle sandwich which comes with cold slaw. The ambitious was great and loved the space. If you want an adult beverage they have win and their signature beer. The service was 100% with winner customer service. The food came out pretty fast and it was served hot. My sandwich was served like a taco and has its own stand to sit up. I separated the chicken, slaw, and waffle. The waffle was light and the chicken had a sweet honey crispy taste. I loved how tvr slaw balanced the heat and sweet flavors. I got the regular chicken and waffles. It came with two breaded tenders that couldn't hold its skin. It was soggy and the batter was not great at all. The waffle was cold and hard and tasted like dough (LIKE ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR). How is the butter nasty?! How does something get cold so fast when they literally placed it in the box after it was done and handed it to me?! I walked to shake shack (a few doors down) to eat my food. I was upset. No lie. The waffle sandwich tasted great with a fluffy, little crunchy waffle as the wrap. The chicken was very tender and great flavor In the batter of the fried chicken. The sauce had a nice little kick but nothing to over power any of the flavors. The bacon was perfectly cooked and also tasted like very golden bacon. The cheddar piece in the sandwich was also very tasteful. The sandwich waffle had plenty of syrup but not so much that your sandwich falls apart. I was able to cut it and still hold it. The waffles are fantastic--note there are different waffles for the sandwiches vs entrees. The entree waffle is a more typical Belgian waffle, where the sandwich waffle is a bit flatter (more like bread)--they both tasted great, just know they are different. The chicken was hot and juicy.
