My bestie had spotted this Bruster's when we were out grocery shopping earlier in the day and told me how much his Dad loved their key lime pie flavor. We ended up here after dinner, but they didn't have the key lime pie on their daily menu during our visit. I was bummed because I know how much he would have enjoyed having it and I was very much looking forward to trying it. I'd like to see it on every Bruster's menu all year round. I'd never had or heard of Bruster's but apparently we have a half dozen or so in southern CA. per my latest research. I ordered their cookie dough and liked it, perfectly creamy (without that film of buttermilk on the tongue that some ice-creams can leave if they're too creamy) and just sweet enough. I plan on trying the Key Lime Pie at a location near me. I DM'd their location in LA and they have it in stock so I see another Bruster's trip in my near future. Service was great, even with a good amount of people in line in a warm Saturday evening. The ice cream is ALWAYS semi melted here. Its never cold. Do you need better freezers? I've had harder and thicker milk shakes everywhere else. The part I can't stand the most is the CONSTANT raw dogging my cones. Please use a paper napkin. Y'all touch everything here, the least you can do is not get your hands all over my cone. You guys hand people their ice creams with no napkins. Not a single one. I'm reading some of the reviews and oh my god they need a new freezer or they're using too much xanthan gum in the ice cream it wont freeze. This is my local Bruster's. I don't visit the store frequently, but they do have good ice cream. Last night, I stopped by the store just before they closed. I tried their Graham Central Station ice cream. It was good. It tasted just like traditional graham crackers. At first I was shocked by the high prices. They then told me that the small has 2 scoops, the regular has 3 scoops, and the large has 4 scoops. It's a better deal when you realize that you are getting multiple scoops. If you pay attention to your mailbox, you'll see that they send out coupons on a fairly regular basis. Some of the coupons give you one free waffle cone when you purchase a waffle cone. On Thursdays, they have a banana split promotion. If you bring your own banana, they will give you 50% off the price of a banana split. Finally, considering stopping by Bruster's on a rainy day. In the past, they would give you 50% off your purchase when it's raining. I'm not 100% certain if they still honor this deal. read more

Apparently, in the midst if a serious pandemic, this location decided its employees aka food HANDlers/SERVERS have the option to wear or not wear gloves and a mask. We went last night for ice cream. There was only one girl wearing a mask and gloves. Only one out of three or four workers. Not acceptable, considering how hard hit these food businesses are. Do tue right thing!! Love this place! The new owners are super friendly and are quite interactive. This is the only location I go to in order to get my ice cream fix. The seasonal flavors are always on point (I personally love Key Lime Pie and Cinnamon Bun, YUM!) and the staff is usually very friendly. People only write reviews when they've had a bad experience. So I have been going here for 10 years. Honestly I don't eat a bunch of sweets but once a month or so I come here because it's the best Ice cream around. But tonight put such a negative taste in my mouth I'm just going to go to Jeni's ice cream at Avalon for now. I know this place is run by high school kids but what kind of brat calls me "man" between every word and gets frustrated when I'm ordering more than one thing to go. I am 10 years older than her and she couldn't even smile at me. The scoops she gave me with my order were a THIRD of the size they have AWAYS BEEN. I asked if they had a sizing / policy change and she said no mam. Like what on earth? I am getting ice cream and the size of my $3.25 scoop was really the size of the puppy cone! I am so disappointed but Jeni's at least gives you a normal serving for outrageous prices and has better quality ingredient. Bummer. read more
