This ice cream parlor actually used to be a La Michoacana USA. Which is so funny because I didn't even look at the name of the ice cream parlor when I walked in.. again I'm a creature of habit so I've been here before it's in the same spot. I walked in. I did notice the store looked different and I thought it was just a simple renovation. To my surprise ,It's now actually a Mis Tios. They have pretty much the same set up in terms of ice cream and desserts. But what I thought was really cool is the actual savory foods they have more options. Back then I would get a cup of equites, and now they have elotes as well. I got a lemon sorbet, and a mango chamoy sorbet with a Tamarid stick. It was so good and I love how they have chamoy syrup on the table so you can always add more to your ice cream. They also had paletas popsicles, I just wish they had more flavor or maybe they were almost out when I went. I did go on a Saturday afternoon. I actually prefer limon paletas. Rather than the sorbet version. The vanilla ice cream was interesting. It taste like vanilla, but it wasn't vanilla bean if that makes sense. I definitely would come here again. The owner and staff are so friendly. My only thing I would say is a little bit pricey for a treat. I only got three ice cream creams and it came out to $30. I went to buy 3 Esquites and I had a bad experience because they were dry and super cold. They barely had any mayonnaise. The corn tasted old and hard. I found it unjust the condition I received the product for the price of $27 for small esquites I paid. They were horrible and I just decided to throw them out. Also they don't have prices posted anywhere? Only the names of the products. It's just absurd. Would not recommend or return to this establishment. read more

This place was so good. It's a little hidden gem in Roswell. The lady who made our food was super sweet and SO patient. I had several questions and nephew was a tad indecisive. There were so many options!! It was awesome. It was a nice location with easy parking. Super clean and several seats. We ordered the esquite, mangonada and gansito split. There are several fun sweets on the menu and flavors. It's a variety of ice creams and sorbets (REAL fruit) & drinks. You can also order food like doriloco, nachos, etc. We will definitely be back to try other items! We are so excited to have found this spot. There was a tv playing sports in the back. What a delight! Go ahead on in and enjoy this little gem! Our family of 5 walked in and hesitated as we don't read Spanish. But it wasn't long before the kindest server came over and asked if it was our first time visiting. When we admitted, yes, she assured us, "The first time is the best time." She immediately pulled out 7-10 full sized plastic spoons and started handing us generous samples of the creamiest ice cream I've ever tasted. She then started pouring samples of their agua frescas...so many fresh flavors! We didn't even start the sorbets, can't wait to go back! Came here in the evening after dinner on a Saturday. Inside there's not a lot of decorations on the walls. I also could not find any menu except for the rotating slideshow on the TV. Although we could not speak Spanish at all, the ladies were super patient and kind. They let us try all kinds of ice cream before making a decision. There are many different flavors. We ended up with chocolate cookies, lemon, and cookies & cream. All were great and did not feel watered down. There are other kinds of desserts available as well. Mr. Tinos is amazing. If you reallly want to try something different from the usual ice cream joints, try Tinos. Tinos has the usual flavors, banana spits, and shakes, but if you should be more adventurous when you go to Tinos. Try one of their tropical fruit ice creams with latin spices. If you are seeking something cool and refreshing to quench your thirst, try the mango aguas. I posted a few menu pictures, but they have much more than what I posted. Some of the non-ice cream latin snack look delicious too. The primary language spoken there is Spanish, but if you can't speak Spanish, the staff is friendly and patient. I wanted to get some ice cream after dinner, and stopped by here. When I came in, the lady at the counter was speaking Spanish, and when she realized I was speaking in English, she called one of the other ladies over to help me. I felt bad for not knowing Spanish, but since I'm currently learning, I feel like I can go back here and practice my Spanish when I want to. I ordered a banana split, and the lady was very kind when she gave me options for toppings. This looks to be a close-knit community place, with lots of people coming and chatting with the team who works there. I'd love to come back and try it again! read more

This is a perfect ice cream shop. The employees made the experience awesome - they could tell we were "first timers" and went out of their way to make our experience great. The flavors/ice cream were creative and incredible, and they offered endless samples. She spun around the tablet point-of-sale machine toward my view with a snarky smirk on her face, and said, see? I knew right then and there that I'd been "got." No problem. I paid and left. The shame of it is this: losing the business from a father of a ten year old that lives nearby just to shake down a norteamericano for a couple of bucks? You've easily lost that amount in future revenue from my household this summer season alone, by an order of magnitude. SO disappointed, and let down. Aguas Frescas. If you have not had these authentic, refreshing Mexican drinks, this is a great place to try them. These beverages are ladled out of large metal tubs with flavors such as Horchata, a rice and cinnamon drink, to fresh fruits such as melon and strawberry, to the exotics such as Tamarindo. All are made fresh on location. The ice cream is also freshly made and terrific. Finding the shop is a bit of an adventure as well, as there is no exterior signage. You walk through the front door of a strip center and past a row of independent hispanic shops to a makeshift "food court." I'm hesitant to leave a review because my children and I enjoy this hidden gem so much and we're tempted to keep it to ourselves! I was looking for a place nearby to get Tostilocos, and Mr. Tino's has a close approximation: Dorilocos (they've been out of Tostitos the three times I've gone in). They do it right as they do have cueritos (pickled pork skin) and japonés (Japanese peanuts) there. My kids get the standard nachos and street corn, and it's enough for the three of them to share for lunch. They're most known for their desserts. They have mangonadas-- sherbert with fresh mango, chamoy sauce, chili powder, and a tamarind straw, which I love. After we've finished our nachos and Dorilocos, I get a mangolada with lime sherbert, while my children get their hand-dipped icecream. They have standard flavors as well as some specialties, like queso, eggnog, tamerind, mamay, and guava. They give samples, so we've been able to get brave and try new things! We love this place. It's clean, priced reasonably, the women who work there are kind, and there's indoor seating. PBS Kids has been playing on the tv each time we've gone, and we've declared that this is the perfect rainy day activity or special treat. read more

It still puzzles me how this neighborhood gem was able to fly under my radar of all the years I lived in this area! We found this place by chance and have been back many times. The most interesting thing about this place is the patrons are mostly of Latin America decent. So, I'm assuming the flavors are something authentic to that region. Speaking of flavors, they offer some interesting flavors: cheese, guava (a tropical fruit), mamey (another tropical fruit), tamarind...etc. No worries, they have the "regular" flavors too, like Oreo, butter pecan, chocolate...etc. I've tried several flavors and they are all delicious and creamy and smooth! Also, I was told by the staff that the ice cream is made in-house with natural ingredients. The most attractive is price. We normally get two single-scoop for a total of about $5....which is less than the price of one single scoop at one of those fancy ice cream parlors. In addition to ice cream, it also offers smoothies, fruit cups (imagine various fruits in a cup with chili-lime seasoning) and other Latin American snacks. I've not tried any of these, but that chicharron (crunchy fried pork rinds) snack looks tempting. The ice cream alone is worth keep coming back. It's not often you fall in love with a place after one bite, but I can tell you that's what happened. We actually went to the Tinos off Buford hwy first because we were over that way. We met Tino and his wife and they insisted we try every single flavor. Each was delicious!! Coffee is rich and smooth, lime is tart and fresh, cheese (yes cheese- queso fresco) is rich with a chewy crumb, tamarind is sour and bright, pistachio is salty and creamy. I'm not kidding, we loved it all. Everything is homemade and soooo good. In talking with Tino we learned their original store is right around the corner from the Roswell library, which we visit once a week. We've never noticed because (as others mentioned) there is no exterior signage. It was worth the treasure hunt. Delicious!! Looking forward to his new store opening over by Provinos. read more

Nice people. Really yummy. It's called an ice cream place but they have a lot of fruit parfaits/desserts. My 6 y.o. ordered the bibindo (sp) with M&Ms which turned out to be this monster helping of fruit, yogurt sauce and granola. My son was horrifically (and comically) terrified by it so I got him an Oreo ice cream and took the bibino...MAN was it delicious. I removed the M&Ms and raisins and killed it. Mr. Tino's Rocks !! Why am I just finding out about this place ?!?! My family had our 1st visit this past Sat. The entire menu is in Spanish, so the nice lady behind the counter was extremely helpful. She gave us numerous samples of their ice cream and aquas fresca. We chose to have the ice cream. She gave excellent recommendations on pairings. I had scoops of dulce de leche and coffee. My husband got mango and guava. My son had cookies/cream and Oreo chocolate. Some other things... - The food is made fresh. The ice cream is so creamy and delicious. - The place is spotless! I noticed that they had a 100 on their food inspection score. - The prices are less than the chain, and the customer service here is way better! We'll be back for sure! Definitely want to try the horchata drink, and chamoyada dessert! read more

So fressssssh! I can't believe there's a gem like this here! It is pretty hard to find, but inside the food court of this mini-hispanic strip mall, I think it is called "Roswell Latin Plaza", there is a fantastic ice cream shop that sell authentic mexican-style ice cream. Also, if you never had aqua frescas before, you have to try their nice creamy-style drink! All their ice cream is made fresh and with bits of fruits. And if ice cream isn't your thing, they also have homemade fruit bars and aqua fresca! There may be a language barrier, but just ask for Mr. Tino. He speaks english and is very passionate about his ice creams! There are a ton of flavors to choose from. It's hard to pick which flavor, but at least they let you taste before you buy! I tried their strawberries & cream and cantaloupe aqua fresca. Their aqua fresca had a punch of creamy deliciousness. Strawberry ice cream was my favorite though. It reminded of the vanilla strawberry ice cream cups I had when I was a kid. Silky vanilla ice cream with swirls of strawberry chunks and jam. Yummy! They had a whole case of fresh fruit bars, too! Sooooo many flavors! I totally wanted one, but I only had room for ice cream. In the next case, they had all of their aqua fresca. So colorful! And they cut the fruit to order rather than pre-cutting it. Love this place! Great for dessert after your meal or anytime of the day! We we're looking for something different than our usual Brusters run with the kids and stumbled across Mr. Tinos in Yelp and decided to try it out. At first we were a little lost when we looked at the posted menu (Spanish only) but we were quickly greeted by a nice woman who recited every flavor they had to us in English. My kids loved the Oreo cookie, I got the vanilla with dried fruit and it was delicious too. Small cups were generously sized for $2 (I think they are a cash only shop but could be wrong - we paid cash). She let us try several flavors before ordering. Bring extra cash for tips. They mentioned they are open until 9pm every day. Be aware the location takes some searching, it was very difficult to find and we ended up calling to get directions from the parking lot late on a Friday evening. There is no sign on the outside for any of the food court restaurants. Enter the mall part of the building near the laundry and hair shop (it's an unmarked glass door that opens up into a long hallway.) I've lived in Roswell for 15 years and never knew this existed. We will return and try new things next time. Please try it out and tip them well-it's a good product for a fair price and everyone we interacted with was nice and was courteous. Enjoy! read more

been here twice and got ice cream both times!!! their fresa flavors are super refreshing and taste like real fruit (really loves the mango and the self serve chamoy and tajin), but their creamy ice creams really knock it out of the park! their jam packed with flavor without being too sweet and the texture is super creamy and smooth and dense without being too heavy!! the pecan is great and i'll make sure to be back soon to try the pistachio. one scoop is around three dollars which i think is plenty affordable for good quality homemade ice cream. great local business and couldn't recommend more that you support them! read more

Well I've found out that there was another Tino's ice cream besides the one in Mexican Mall off Alpharetta St. This was nicer since it's not shared in the food court area, few tables and seats, same exact menu as the other place, but bigger photos of the parfait, so I can actually order one in the future. I've had coffee and chocolate ice cream and watermelon juice from the juice bar, man the cup they gave me for the juice was huge... and delicious. Next time I need to try their Parfait. read more
