Been here a few times and service and food is always great. Prices can be a little higher because they use higher quality ingredients. For instance, you can see that I have many wing photos because they do not use canola or seed oils.. While lunch today was pretty quiet they really pack for dinner so make sure that you call for a reservation. We also enjoyed stopping to watch the Sabres playoff games this past year in the bar area. We were excited to try Bruno's since it's a local restaurant . Server was very nice and attentive, we were one of the only few tables in the restaurant. We were a little disappointed to sit down around 330 and asked about the lunch build your own pasta we saw on the website that says 11-4 and were told the server was told to give out dinner menus so that is no longer available even though it was at least 20 minutes before 4. The food overall was mediocre. The homemade items were decent ( rigatoni, stuffed shells) . The bread seemed to be frozen dinner rolls which we could have done without, small Cesar salad was weird with spices dumped all over it. read more

I've checked out Brunos last fall for my then fiance's birthday. I liked there were gluten free options at an Italian restaurant. I've been wanting to come back and try their gluten free pizza. My friend and I stopped out on a Tuesday night. She got the gluten free steak pizza, I got the chicken pepper pizza. She said the pizza was tasty and would go back. I thought the pizza had great flavor and brought the heat. Although they dont charge more for gluten free pizza, their prices are on the higher side for what you get. I'm old and it has taken me awhile to make an account here so I can post this one review. My husband and I last week came here for lunch and then had a date afterwards. The bartender Hayley was amazing and her drinks were great, but the owner is so defensive and rude. My husband asked for a side of Alfredo with his chicken parm since he has a hard time eating red sauce. The owner heard and was upset that we wanted Alfredo since we ordered the chicken parmigiana and it doesn't normally come with it. After the owner was rude about making Alfredo he brought it out, and at the end of the meal he apologized and gave us desert. But never in my life have I been some where that openly speaks to customers like that. I can only imagine what staff goes through. read more

First time at Bruno's for dinner tonight. Delicious! Cute little restaurant. Warm and cozy. Friendly staff. Arancini was on the specials menu tonight. We had them as an appetizer (forgot to snap a pic). Rice balls with spinach and sausage, breaded and fried. Served with red sauce. For dinner my husband chose create your pasta. He had linguine with alfredo and grilled chicken. I had Chicken Ali-oli which was rigatoni with garlic and shaved pecorino, fresh broccoli and grilled chicken in olive oil. Both dinners came with salad and bread with dipping sauce. Portions were generous. They make their own pasta. We will go there again! read more

This as the best place to host a birthday party for my husband. We have a big family and needed a nice space to host 50 people. We had the entire bar area with booths and high tops. I chose a selection of entrees, sides and salads. We had sausage with peppers and onions, a couple of pasta dishes and the antipasto. The service was great. Everyone was very attentive asking guest for drink orders, cutting and serving the cake. Everyone thought the food was great especially the pastas, sausage and antipasto. I was here recently for a friend's birthday. I ordered the Buffalo Mac-N-Cheese. It was fantastic! It came with a choice of soup or salad. I ordered the manhattan clam chowder soup. It was really good. That was the best part of the experience and why I would return. The service wasn't great at all. I know they were busy but after my last friend showed up, it took the server 15 minutes to come back and get her drink order and then another 25 to ask us what we wanted to eat. She acted like she was waiting on us but we had known what we wanted for quite some time. People who had gotten there well after us had their food before we did. The server mixed up my drink and my friend's drink. The server was apologetic at one point and I said it was okay but I didn't want to be constantly ignored, like our party wasn't as important as any other table. Another server brought our separate checks but had added an 18% gratuity to each one. I had never had an automatic gratuity added, when all six of us were there. The ambiance was nice. What a gem in our community. Visit this family owned spot for some great Italian entrees and the pizzas are top notch. Our waitress was friendly and attentive even though the place was full. First time I went, the food was incredible! All their pasta is handmade; it was tender and cooked just right. I had the fettuccine with white clam sauce. The clams were nice size pieces, and they too were tender. Second time I had their food, a friend brought me takeout. I ordered the Shrimp Aspargi. The pasta was lovely. The downside was the sauce; it was a heavy, heavy hand that added garlic. I love garlic, but it made the sauce bitter. Also, there were only 3 shrimp in the dish! For $25 I expected more shrimp. Yesterday I ordered a fish fry And a breaded fish that the receptionist said it is breaded. I went any picked them up and the fish fry was loaded with the fryer oil, over cooked, the fries were cold and the bearded fish was not breaded, and over cooked and dry as were the fries! It cost me $43.00 for food that was terrible'! I called and asked for the manager and she stated that all she could do was to recook the order!! At that point who wants to run back to the restaurant when the food we ate was disgusting! Don't waste your time and money! Horrible service. I was having dinner with my girlfriends. We ordered apps and 2 pizza. We got our apps but it took forever for the pizza. The lovely waitress apologized. After having the pizza for 10 minutes, we were informed we had to leave in 15 minutes. The owner came out extremely defensive without any prior engagement with us and asked if I went online to make the reservation. I informed him I called and he proceeded to say well online it informs you of a time limit at the tables and insisted this is a policy at every restaurant. He then proceeded to stand at the hostess counter and give us glaring looks. He then informed the poor waitress to just start clearing our table, while we were trying to eat. The irony was that it took forever for them to get us our to go containers, as we hardly ate and the check. Needless to say, none of us will be ever be going back there. We just made the 30 ish mile trip ( each way) to try Bruno's for the first time. We had heard about it; checked some reviews and off we went. That's what cars are for! It wasn't just a meal; it was an experience. We were concerned as the parking lot was packed but were seated immediately. We shared the the eggplant caprese and the Sinatra. While described as an "Italian Sandwich" they were much more than that. It began with an excellent salad and we finished with cannolis for desert. My wife commented that they were not overtly sweet , as many are.Folks must have discovered this place where you will not go away hungry so I suggest calling for reservations. Stopped last Thursday for their wing night. They have lots of flavors and are doing a great job to not use seed oils in their cooking which is extremely rare to find due to their increased costs. My girlfriend and I recently dined at Bruno's for the first time and wanted to share our experience. I feel Bruno's a great addition to the Lancaster community. We visited on a Saturday night around 6 PM. Reservations are available on their website, but we took our chances with a walk-in. The wait for a 2-top was about 20 minutes. The atmosphere was lively, but not super noisy. There were families dining, as well as couples, and several small groups either celebrating an occasion or watching college football at the bar. Our server Paige was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Bruno's owner is a registered dietician and has made thoughtful choices throughout the menu, including organic greens, seed-free oils, and even organic wines. Even with these health conscious choices, the prices were still quite reasonable and the food quality was excellent. We started with a couple appetizers - the garlic bites (served with a tasty homemade marinara) and the mussels diablo. Both were excellent. We were frankly surprised by the generous portion size of each appetizer. The mussels diablo in particular were a standout. The sauce lived up to its name - indeed quite spicy, but was not overpowering. The punch of heat was well balanced with savory notes of garlic and spices. The menu said the order was 1 lb, but it felt like we got more than that. For entrees, I got the Chicken Ali-Oli and my companion got the Rigatoni with red sauce. All of the pastas are homemade and they even offer a gluten-free option made in-house. The Chicken dish was quite good, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. The flavors of chicken, broccoli, garlic, and cheese were all prevalent and balanced. I would say that perhaps it lacked a "wow" factor, but was a solid dish all around. My girlfriend raved about the rigatoni. The homemade pasta was delicately prepared and served with a sauce that was sweet but also carried a zesty zing. We were far too full for desserts and had to box up some of our meal. (Each entree also comes with a choice of soup or salad and complimentary bread service). As Lancaster residents, we regretted not coming to Bruno's sooner and plan to return soon. I highly recommend a visit! read more

Went last minute and noticed this newly opened restaurant in Lancaster. Was different than expected. Service was very good, atmosphere was hard to pinpoint. Sports bar/semi-casual meets medieval. Italian themed menu. Appetizer of meatballs were ok, but I think they deep fried them and at too high of a temperature, as they had a thick sear exterior which threw off the texture, but the sauce was nice. We had the cowboy burger, which was 8 oz, so huge, and I loved the charbroil flavor, but no condiments on the bun and nothing on the table, not even salt/pepper shakers, so it was kind of dry. The eggplant sandwich I did not like at all. It was downright bitter, but my husband seemed okay with it, so maybe it was just my preference . Will give them more time to find their rhythm and try again. read more

It was very loud, they need some acoustic tiles on the ceiling. The service was very slow. We did not care for the pizza. The crust was not good and we did not like the pizza sauce. Made reservations for a Friday night at 6:45. The restaurant was busy. We ordered drinks at took a spot at the bar. We were taken to our table before the first drink was finished. Kathy was our server, and she was extremely cordial. We (our party of 3) ordered a spaghetti dinner, a battered fish fry, and an order of lasagna. All of the meals were delicious, hot and fresh. Prices are fair for the size of the portions. We all enjoyed left-overs for lunch the next day. Kathy deserves an A+++ for the service we enjoyed that evening. Picture you eating with your friends who you haven't seen in 2 years. Ordered 2 apps and 2 pizzas. Apps were great. Pizzas took forever to come out but ok because we are all chatting, they come out, they are ok. Im not really a fan but whatever. 5 mins after we get our pizza, the hostess comes over and says your time is almost up?! Excuse me? Time? So when you make a reservation, you only have 1.5 hrs? NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER HEARD OF THAT? Owner came over, very rude! Needless to say we were all so shocked and upset that we couldn't even eat because we were so aggravated! Again now the owner told the hostess to start cleaning our table however we still never got out bill! RUDE! The pizzas were disgusting, you want to put a spaghetti meatball pizza on your menu, learn how to make a good one! SANTORAS on Transit and Clinton has THE BEST one, maybe ask them for help! The food was delicious! There were six if us, and not one of us had a complaint. I had the steak and arugula sandwich. The steak was cooked to perfection; just the right amount of pink. The service on the other hand was slow to non existent. We had 6:30 reservations. Our waitress took the drink orders, dropped them off, and didn't return for 40 minutes to take our order. We had to ask another waitress if ours was still there. When she finally did come back, she acted like she was the one waiting on us. We also had asked for separate checks. The waitress had added an 18% gratuity to each check for a "large party". This is the first time the six of us were considered a large party and had tip included in the bill. Came here with a friend on a Wednesday evening for dinner. The parking lot is small so I had to park in a snow filled lot across the street. The service was a little slow but the server was very nice. The food was good. My friend got a slice of cheese pizza and crab stuffed mushrooms which were both delicious. Stopped at Bruno's in Lancaster for my annual birthday dinner and if anybody knows me anytime I go to an Italian restaurant. I just order spaghetti and meatballs and I'm still searching for the perfect plate now I've had some good ones. Nothing rivals my favorite and that's Cambria of course which is now close, but I heard this restaurant has a little bit of that influence. I've cooked with Amelia and Lou and Carolyn for a number of years at Cambrias. the sauce here at Bruno's has the technique I could taste that the meatballs were delicious. Only issue I had was the angel hair pasta was served instead of a hardy fresh spaghetti what I received was a Bowl of starchy pasta with sauce and two meatballs and when I asked for extra sauce and I got a 2 ounce cup of sauce on the side. The stuffed peppers were delicious. My wife ordered a steak sandwich that was delicious. Dinner was served with focaccia bread. Nothing beats a fresh loaf of Italian bread. Ambience of the restaurant was beautiful ample bar plenty of tables and high tops. We were the only couple there. There was one other table, but they were leaving. I'd love to go back and try a different pasta because the sauce was good. They did offer me a different pasta, but I just gracefully declined. Good news is I will go back, but I want that plate of thicker spaghetti with that sauce and those meatballs. read more

Overall, this place was great. We had the linguine and meatballs with house sauce and the rigatoni parm. The pasta was homemade and really good. Not overcooked at all. The sauce was really good. They toss the pasta in the sauce like real italian restaurants do. We both started with a Caesar salad. They were good but only down side was the dressing was not tossed like a traditional Caesar, it was served on the side. We also got an order of the pretzel sticks with real beer cheese, not that fake orange cheese most others places serve. The service could have been better but it was busy when we were there.
