The food was very good. Eggs Benedict with sausage instead of Canadian Bacon were as good if not better than any I have ever had. Has browns were top notch, too. Service was a tad slow but I will give them the benefit of the doubt since it was early afternoon in a Sunday. The dining room was loud and crowded so we opted to sit on the patio. The table and chair r was comfortable with added to the nice environment. The prices were decent and the portions were healthy. We are already looking forward to our next visit. read more

First advice definitely come here early if you can. I made the mistake of coming here late one morning and they were so packed I left cause there was a long wait. Today I walked right in and got immediately seated. The menu has many different items to choose which made it hard for me to decide. Once I ordered my food it came out rather quickly and everything tasted great. The pineapple pancakes while good were just a little too sweet for me. I was very impressed with the fact they have grits here and they come with cheese on them. They were very good which was surprising cause not everybody can make good grits. First the good news: food is good. I had the brisket skillet. It was hot; the brisket was tasty, has browns crispy and the eggs were as ordered. I didn't see the need for corn but it didn't hurt. Biscuit was OK, not great. My daughter ordered the Mediterranean Omelette. She liked it: eggs, feta, tomatoes, onion and olives. Prices are reasonable. Now the bad news. Service is incredibly slow - and it wasn't too busy as we were at the tail end of the lunch rush. Don't go here if you are in the clock. Now the really bad news. This place is filthy! There was food on the floor, dirty tables when we arrived were still dirty an hour later when we left. Worst of all, they piled the dirty plates s on a counter next to the clean silverware and coffee urns, right in front of us. They were never cleared. Aside from being unsightly, it seemed to be a health hazard. Did they not have a dishwasher? The two stars are for the food. If the place had good service and was clean, I would have bumped up the rating. But I would not recommend eating in such filthy place. read more

We were so excited to try this place only to be disappointed and disgusted. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The first batch of chicken looked worse than this (as if that could be possible). This was the redo and it also came out burnt, fried extremely hard and greenish. It was as if they had not changed the grease in months. My sister ordered crab Benedict that was extremely salty and intolerable. My mom ordered the lox omelet which was the only thing edible that came with lumpy grits that were overly salted. My son ordered strawberry shortcake pancakes and the strawberries were oddly warm as if they were microwaved on top of the pancakes. His side of hash browns tasted weird almost like boxed potatoes. It was very hot inside the restaurant and we fought off a fly the entire time. When I notified the waitress (who sang songs from the little mermaid) that I would not be paying for the nasty chicken she brought me $8 because obviously they were not capable of deleting or updating the ticket. It is sad to work hard and waste money on such a pitiful experience. Save your money, your time and your stomach and avoid this place! read more

I love Bruncheon because it's walking distance from my apartment. If you're in Cityline, this needs to be your go-to brunch place. There's never a wait and it's always really good. The only reason I subtracted 1 star is that my meal, the meat skillet, did not have any flavor. Like at all. I had to add salt to it which is something I've never done before! One more thing I didn't like was that I asked for a side of gravy and for just a few ounces of gravy they charge 3 dollars. Poor customer service. My family of 6 (one being a baby) waited an extremely long time. When we were first seated, we didn't even receive menus. The group that came in after us received menus. Then I had to ask for a high for my baby. The same group placed their order with the same waiter. Their food was ready before us. Same amount of people. When we told the waiter we wanted to pay for our drinks and we wanted to leave he ran and told the manager. At that point, he went to check on our food and within seconds our food came out. I lost track of how long we waited. I do not recommend and I will not be returning. All because of customer service. The food was not great. The chicken strips that came with the chicken and waffles was good. Very seasoned. The chicken fettuccini was bland. The scrambled eggs were runny. We will stick with Scrambler Cafe. I was also a little annoyed they wouldn't sub the bacon for sausage (I didn't mind a sub charge) on the KIDS MEAL!! They need to offer sausage as an option. Not sure if the kitchen was just having a bad day but both of our orders were not filled accurately. My oatmeal was missing 4 of the 5 toppings that come on it. Great service and food is seemed like it was poured with love and attention. We got the huevos rancheros and omelette. Both were A++. We got a front view of the kitchen and everything that came out of there looked delicious. The chicken and waffles came with a large fluffy waffle and on top was like a mountain of chicken. The sausage did not look like ordinary sausage but a premium frank that really seemed to elevate the boring breakfast experience.I can't wait to try more items out next time. The game changer was their blueberry muffin. It was fluffy, not too sweet, fresh berries, and little touches of sugar on top to give it a nice crust that isn't too sweet or over powering. If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette which came with hash browns and a biscuit. Personally, the omelette and hash browns were lacking flavor and I needed to add salt and pepper. The service was good. The wait is generally short and the service is fast. The servers are friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend the Brisket Skillet and their biscuits. I've tried the chicken and waffles before and I'd also recommend that. They don't have alcoholic drinks like mimosas however you can BYOB for $8 and order a side of OJ to make your own.
