A week ago, I had a craving for bagels. When I lived in Rochester, I either got bagels at Hy-Vee or Panera Bread. I have never been to Bruegger's Bagels. This store is roughly five minutes away from my hotel. I decided to check this place out. It's in a plaza. I backed my car into a spot steps away from the entrance and walked in. There were two male staffers behind the counter. I asked one of them whether there were any onion bagels left. He moved off to the side and showed me the onion bagels behind him. Perfect! I got six of them. I also went to the fridge area and got a tub of light herb garlic cream cheese. The downside is that this bagel chain does not have dairy-free cream cheese. My six bagels and a tub actually comprise a combo here. Yay! I paid with a credit card and all was well. I thanked the man and walked out with my bagels and cream cheese. I love the smell of bagels in my car. If I could get a scented onion bagel air freshener, I would. I get this huge urge to eat one while driving. I had a few more errands to run that day, so I refrained from being a bagel savage. When I got back to the hotel, I sliced one of the onion bagels open, toasted it, and smeared the light herb garlic cream cheese on both halves. These are New York-style bagels. I am more of a Montreal-style bagel person, but NY-style doesn't hurt my feelings. The onion bits on top weren't as caramelized or as done as I would have liked them to have been. These bagels were more doughy. They were okay. The light herb garlic cream cheese was amazing. I'm not sure what the light part signifies, but it was so garlicky, herby, and creamy. I highly recommend this cream cheese flavour. This place has a number of signature and breakfast bagel sandwiches that I want to try. I also wouldn't mind enjoying other bagel flavours. Asiago parmesan sounds yummy, for instance. (7)

So the pumpernickel bagel I had was terrific. The service was fast and friendly. So you wonder why the 2 star rating? Well it was difficult to find a clean table in the dining area and then I wanted to wash my hands before eating. The bathroom was disgusting! Not sure that the sink or the toilet have ever been cleaned. Needless to say I took my bagel and off we went.

    Farmhouse bagel is my fav!!

This Caribou Coffee is across from Chick-Fil-A. It has a drive-thru. It's also the second-closest Caribou from the hotel where I typically stay when I'm in Eagan. After grabbing my sub, I got in my car and drove around the building to hit the Caribou drive-thru. I had the nicest woman on the other end take my order. I was in town to see Caribou launch its espresso shakers (they are iced) that you can get with oat beverage. They are so good. I ordered a large vanilla espresso shaker with oat beverage. I gave the woman my phone number associated with my reward points. Done! I headed to the window. This woman and I had the nicest conversation while she ran my credit card through the system to pay for my drink. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. She handed me my drink in a larger cup. She called me love, which I haven't heard in a long time. It was cool. I wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I drove back to the hotel to have lunch and enjoy my vanilla espresso shaker. I drank it during my team meeting. It was the highlight of my meeting. It was so creamy and delicious. I am not a coffee drinker, but this drink is perfect. The vanilla balances out the coffee flavour nicely. I love it so much. It's icy, smooth, and yummy. I am craving one right now. Canada needs Caribou Coffee. It's nice to know that there are two Caribou Coffee locations in Eagan that I like. I look forward to returning for more yummy beverages. (100)

Ambiance wise, it's next to a pretty busy convenience shop and there's no dedicated seating, but I don't think people expect that for an airport bagel place lol. It's fine for an airport bagel -- I like that they have some spreads i haven't seen elsewhere (lemon caper was great!). Only con was that service was slow-ish. I had time to kill and that is a good thing because you are not going anywhere fast with Poppy's.... The set up is pretty straightforward: go to kiosk, order your stuff, pay and go and wait until they call your name. Sounds simple, and it should be but it just seemed like these guys made it so much worse than it needed to be. Two guys working back there - one more or less looked like the "cook" and the other appeared to be the assembly guy - these guy literally made each order one by one by one... with absolutely no care as to the amount of people standing there waiting. It literally took over 20 minutes to order a bacon egg cheese on a bagel with a coffee - and there were only three people ahead of me when I got there. This totally killed me time to sit and enjoy breakfast before my boarding call. The only positive here was that the sandwich was good - but not "wait 20-minutes: good. Use them if you must, but forget it if you have a tight connection

Old school all the way. There's a restaurant in the back, and a full-scale deli counter in the front. It is such a good stop. They have their own private parking lot too. Had a sister's brunch today and the celebrant sister chose Hope Breakfast Bar. Another sister and I were like darn, it was the choice lowest on the list for both of us. But on our drive there, we decided we'd both try something that we typically wouldn't try to see if it changed our views. I tried the breakfast sandwich. It was decent, not anything I'd ever crave. The bacon overpowered everything else, even the everything bagel! She did the egg farm grazer which was vegetables and quinoa topped with an egg. She said it was fine as well. Both of our meals were on par with previous experiences. Our two other sisters chose some sort of waffle. One was the hope waffle which was good, standard waffle with fruit. The other was chicken and waffles, the taste is decent but the portion was surprisingly large! 4 pieces of chicken with the waffle! As we finished with our meals, I was happy that we weren't disappointed with our food, so that was a win! But they watch your time so carefully. The moment we were sitting for 90 mins on the dot, they asked us to go. So if you're looking for a place to catch up with someone, don't let it be here!
