Service at the bar was good considering every seat at the bar was taken. We ordered our food and it was out within 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, but subbed the sides for the whole fried okra and Gouda grits. When I say those grits and okra hit.....somebody in that kitchen knows what they're doing! The chicken breasts were juicy and flavorful. The spice level was typical for Nashville hot chicken, which I sometimes I can't take. But I loved the flavor so much I couldn't stop eating it. Desserts are made there too. I had fudge pie with homemade vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Everything was absolutely delicious. The butter is churned there as well. Picnic tables are on the front porch and a swing hangs from the ceiling. There is a vintage cash register used when you make payment for your meals. There is also a store with jelly, jams and other items made there. I bought a tee-shirt. I highly recommend visiting here. Bring your appetite. Everything is buffet style. The owner is friendly. Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious.
