There were ample shrimps in the dish and the shrimps were seasoned well and tasty! Both the shrimps and the grits were exceptional quality. The grits were very creamy and again, seasoned well! The lemon was grilled which is a lovely touch and the scallions/sliced onions offered a touch of freshness and flavor. There was an abundance of grease in the dish which was the only evidence of any chorizo sausage. In accustomed to having andouille sausage in shrimp and grits and usually they are medallions, sliced like coins. Sometimes the sausage is diced and it's always seared. The sausage was absent. Day one I ate the shrimp and day two I cooked some andouille sausage we had, removed the grease from my leftovers, and had the grits with our andouille medallions. The grits were cheesy and creamy and really good and they did taste great with the addition of our sausage. I'm sure Tupelo Honey would have corrected the missing sausage had I been present at lunch. I was pleased with the quality of the ingredients, just disappointed the sausage was missing.

Service was a bit slow getting started and remained somewhat slow throughout our visit. For starters, we ordered the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles. The fried green tomatoes were a bit firm and difficult to cut, but the fried pickles were enjoyable. For our entrees, we ordered the Chicken & Waffles, Peppercorn Meatloaf, and Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken. We also ordered a side of sweet potato pancakes. The Peppercorn Meatloaf had quite a bit of spice, even for a spicy food lover like me! The chicken tenders served with the waffles had some spice to them as well. They tasted fine to me, but they were a little too spicy for my friend who ordered them. The Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken was definitely our fave, 10/10. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a bit dry and underwhelming. I think they would have been much better with some type of glaze or sauce. We waited quite a while for our bill at the end of the meal. The slow service was the main drawback and reason for my rating. Our server was pleasant, but he seemed a little overwhelmed.

My order consisted of peaches and cream waffle, grits (one of the few places I can eat grits at), biscuit, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and lots of water. The crab was soft, seasoned really well, and full of flavor. I slightly preferred the bao over the sandwich, but both were really good. The truffle fries are a must-have. The restaurant has a great vibe. This is not your regular BBQ spot. It's more like BBQ fusion, and there's a really interesting variety on the menu. I sat at the bar and got to see some of the other dishes coming out of the kitchen, and everything looked so good. I haven't eaten red meat in years, and it took some serious willpower not to order those brisket balls. All of the servers were top-notch (except for that one guy with the brown hair and glasses). I really hope I get a chance to return to Huntsville someday, because Salt will be the first place on my list.

I visited this establishment for the first time recently during a holiday. Before ordering, I asked…read moreabout the wait time and was told it would be about 15 minutes. It ended up being closer to 40 minutes before I received my food. The wait itself wasn't unreasonable given the circumstances, but the estimate wasn't very accurate. I ordered the 3-piece catfish plate with 4-cheese macaroni and fried corn, which also came with a roll. The macaroni was the star of the show. It was flavorful and well-seasoned, not just cheesy. The fried corn was also very good. The catfish was piping hot and tasted good, but it appeared to have been cooked in older grease, as evident by its color, taste and overall presentation. Considering the price point, I would have appreciated a more appealing presentation. Overall, the food was good. My plate came to about $28, so I expected a little more attention to detail. That said, I'd be willing to visit again, just in moderation (price). The restaurant also has an indoor bar, which I didn't try during this visit. There were plenty of seating options available, including bar seating, high-top tables, booths, standard tables, and even a couple of loveseats. Parking is available in a shared lot with neighboring businesses.

It was a lot of confusion with ppl ordering, the place is kind of small so the counter was crowded. I patiently waited for over 2 hours for my food and never received it after I paid. They apparently either forgot to make my plate or have it to someone else/ the owner seemed nice at first when she realized they still hadn't given me my food she said give her 10 min I waited another 20-30 minutes by this time IM over it I didn't make a scene and I wasn't loud. I asked for a refund and thats when her true colors came out. She went off on me yelling, using a couple of curse words, just going off. So let me get this right I wait 2 1/2 hours for food that you forgot to make and paid you almost $80 IM NOT making a scene and I tied to be understanding and for that I was attacked ok don't worry I won't be back because that's just wrong.

We were greeted promptly but didn't see our server again - I'm sure she thought that we were going to order from the QR code which was a very reasonable assumption, except the QR code didn't work - only part of the menu was available We finally tracked her down and placed our order. While we waited (and waited) for our food, my husband poured his beer from the wall while I waited (and waited) for my soda. I finally went to the bar to get my own drink. Coke Zero is kept in the back so the bartender had to leave the bar and walk to the kitchen to get my drink. Asking for a refill was wasting breath - I asked for one but never received it. We waited (and waited) for our food. A server tried to give us someone else's chicken tenders but gave up after the second try. We were able to track down our server to check on our food. About 5 minutes later, we finally received our apps - mac & cheese bites (husband liked, I didn't) and fried pickles (I kind of liked, husband did not). I usually really like fried pickles but these were undercooked and not hot. Even if I had wanted them redone, our server was once again AWOL. Our sandwiches came right after we received our apps. I failed to read my previous review. I reordered the Turkey Gouda which I didn't like first time around. This time it was toasted perfectly. The problem? It was literally dripping with the cranberry aioli. This spread was only aioli in name. There was absolutely no creaminess, it was just jelly. Way way way too much jelly. I tried to scrape it off but since it was on both sides of the sandwich, removal was nearly impossible. This sandwich is definitely on my "never order again" list. (But then, I don't plan on coming back). I ordered onion rings as a side. I was served a couple of onion rings that were good but the rest of the onion rings were not rings, they were clumps of rings welded together. I did send these back. The replacements were so undercooked that the onions were nearly raw. My husband ordered the Burger. He did enjoy his burger but agreed that the poor service and overall quality that two visits were two too many.
