THE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!! My warranty company referred us to them, took 1 week to schedule an apt, and 1 week later, today, after back and forth of drama, missing documents, nobody knowing what is going on with the status of our washer being repaired. I finally talked to the owner of the company last night and she told me she couldn't find our information, she was going to research the status and call me back, no call back (they never ever return your calls) so I followed up with them today, and the receptionist who was one RUDE individual told me that the owner left out of town this morning, because she had personal issues she is dealing with. NOT my problem. It has been 2 weeks and my washer I still broken down. I told her that the warranty company hasn't received any information from them, after they have told us numerous times that they have sent them all the information. She yelled at me and told me she was going to cancel my order and to call the warranty company deal with them. The warranty company never received any of the information from Browns appliance. 2 WEEKS OF DRAMA, I'm not sure what kind of company they are running, but they just gave us two weeks of unnecessary drama. I called several other companies that gave me an estimate for 2-3 times the price of what Chris gave and those other companies don't have nearly as good of a reputation as he does. LG referred me to these guys for service. The guy came out, stood in front of my fridge with the doors open for five minutes, enjoying the cool air. Did absolutely, nothing else. Then said, "seems to be ok." The problem is a faulty actuator on the defrost cycle, but this guy didnt want to do the repair. So he left. After my dismal experience with this company, I called LG and they scheduled factory service, which is what I should have instead of waste my time with this good-for-nothing company. When the LG Factory rep came out, the rep had anticipated the part based on my description of the problem. He placed the unit in diag mode, exercised the damper, confirmed it was indeed bad, from inside the unit he installed the part and fixed the problem. Dont waste your time, this company has reps that are not properly trained and do not understand how to repair modern, computerized appliances. read more

We had a 15 month old over stove whirlpool microwave break down. I found Browne's on yelp, read the reviews and began the process. I sent them a couple of pictures showing one of the door latches gone. I called and got hold of Stephanie who told me they were already pricing the parts, gave me an estimate and set up a time to come out. Had the 8-12:00 window and Kenneth called and arrived at 8:30. He had the panel off, the broken parts (cam & spring) replaced, put back together and tested in a short time. Let me start by saying I have been going thru a nightmare lasting 3 1/2yrs with a Maytag refridgerator that I purchased from Home Depot with the very expensive extended warranty service. Without going into a very big monologue of the 4 prior service calls that I had to go thru with Antech & AG service both located in Escondido but who Assurion, who the warranty was thru, sent to my home to fix my fridge. Each time they came out they said everythng from a broken ice maker, a burned out light bulb to the last service call saying that I simply " Needed to defrost my fridge!"... Really guys! In my frustration & before I could get this fridge exchanged under the Lemon Law, Assurion said I needed 1 more service call to do a diagnostic. Under protest I agreed. I then was given the phone# for Browne's Appliance in Lemon Grove. Within 5 minutes of speaking to Tom, the parts manager, he told me that there was a problem with a part for my model of Maytag & has since been remade so this type of problem could be fixed!! Oh My Gosh!! My hero! The very next day, the owner came out, Chris, who not only repaired the problem in no time but went the extra mile to tighten my freezer door that the stupid jerk serv tech frm AG broke, he make sure the thermo stats were in point, he repaired the ice maker & even unclogged the vent on my dryer which had NOTHING to do with yhe reason he was at my residence! Who does that kind of service anymore?!! All u seem to encounter are scam artists out to make a buck. NOT BROWNE's!!! If u do not hire these guys for ur appliance needs you will be doing urself a VERY BIG DISSERVICE!! They saved me from a 3 1/2yr long nightmare!!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!! Woke up on Wednesday morning to find my 3 year old LG refrigerator was not cooling and I had a puddle of melted ice on my floor. Tried another service company that "repairs all brands" except they did not. Called LG for service and after some interesting troubleshooting, I was referred to Browne's. By now it was after noon. I called Browne's to see if someone could possible come today (beating myself up for not calling LG first). Was told "Sorry we are all booked until tomorrow" Darn! Then, a couple of hours later, a call from Debbie at Browne's "Is it OK if our guy comes after 5pm?" Heck YEAH it's OK! I get a call from Chris the technician with an ETA and wait for him to make his way through traffic. Finally, at 6ish, Chris arrives and spends a good 30 mins trying different things. Bad news, the CPU is bad. Chris promises to do his best to get the part tomorrow but could be as late as Monday, depending on supply. *We transfer 30 sq ft of fridge contents into coolers and wait* Check up the next morning and Chris did find the part, it is on it's way and he will be by that afternoon to install it. Whoa! Sure enough, Chris calls with an ETA and arrives with part. Installation and explanation complete, he's out before 5pm on Thursday. Check next morning and fridge is at temp! WAHOO! This is not the first time I've had to call for fridge service, but this is DEFINATLY the first time someone actually came out the SAME DAY. If we had to wait, there is little chance the part could have arrived in time to fix the fridge before the weekend. Previous experience with calling for service on a fridge (not from this company) is more than a week wait! It's one thing to go without a washer or dryer for a few days, but a fridge... well, that's kind of like going without water or the internet! :-) So, I'm super happy with Chris and Browne's! Called Browne's Appliance to schedule an installation for a new LG washer dryer set. I got their number from the corporate LG office. Spoke to them last Friday. Said they would call to setup the appointment on Monday. No return call. Called on Tuesday and spoke to a different person who said she would give me a time via email. Never heard from her either. Called them today, and they said they could not take care of the installation, as it required two techs. I am not the type to post on-line reviews, but this was beyond the pail. While getting ready to vacation in a few days our washer died a fast death. I stopped in and they had a technician available the next day. And just as I thought there was no chance of survival. So that day went in looking to buy a used one. The one I got was an older model for sure, and less than half of the one we replaced. When we bought that failed machine the salesman did warn us that they don't make 'em like they used to. And those new ones will rust out before you know it. Brown's are very professional and deserve 5 stars. They refurbish the older models (the ones that last) from the ground up including a paint job. I called Maytag and tried to help me to troubleshoot the issue, but I'm mechanically inclined. Immediately , they dispatch Chris and fix the problem right away. He didn't charge me because he wants to build the right relationship with customers to make them the happy and satisfied with their service . Browns Appliance is not a company I would ever consider doing business with and neither should any of you. I was provided their information from LG as a "preferred vendor" to replace a part in my washer. I called, discussed my needs and supposedly the part was purchased and they would be coming out to replace it. I scheduled a window of time for their arrival, they called to make sure I was home, I called them back stating I was and have been waiting for 4 hours. They never called back or communicated they weren't coming. I had to call them! They never planned to tell me they decided not to come. Supposedly the owner is also the repair person. I spoke with him, Chris, who was yelling at me over the phone so badly that when my husband walked in and heard how he was speaking to me he had to take over. The owner is not business savvy person and clearly doesn't understand first of all you don't yell at the customer. Secondly if there is a miscommunication with the customer the company should fall on the sword, apologize and move forward so the customer ends with a positive experience. Instead, I'm writing the first bad company review I've ever done. Now I'm questioning whether they even had the part and planned to come to my home. Either way...thumbs down on Browns Appliance. Never again. Chris you are unfortunately an untruthful person. You hung up on my husband 3 times after continuing to yell at him. Don't act like you didn't. That's why he called you back. Don't use this platform to act like you are apologizing so future customers don't think you or your company is terrible. Apologizing is what you should have done in the first place. If you are so worried about coming to a house when no one is home than why don't you just set an appointment time and forget the window? I missed your call and after working on this for almost 2 weeks with your company! Apologizing is what you should have done when I called at 5pm asking for an eta after I'd been waiting for 4 hours. You were rude and disrespectful from the very beginning. Any wife being yelled at by another man is going to incite a major problem with her partner. You never attempted to fix it, you made the entire issue my fault because I missed your phone call yet I'm sitting at home with the door open waiting for you as the customer should be. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was told I needed a new soap dispenser for my dishwasher. When I questioned the $100 charge for a 10 minute visit, the tech became angry. He returned to install the little piece of plastic ($58) and said he tested it, but when I ran the dishwasher the dispenser still didn't open. Another tech came, said that wasn't the problem and that I needed a new circuit board (over $100). Since the dishwasher is 12 years old I decided not to repair it, but I have spent $133, have a soap dispenser I didn't need, and they won't take it back unless I buy the circuit board. You won't find a better company to deal with than Browne's Appliance in Lemon Grove. I've got a 30-plus year old Maytag washer that I don't want to replace. I called another appliance repair shop in June 2016. They said the machine was too old to fix. When I told the guy I didn't want a new machine, he recommended Browne's Appliance. I'm glad he gave me the recommendation - Browne's Appliance had no trouble fixing it. Chris (the owner) has done repairs this past year to keep the old Maytag in good working order. The first time I called him (June 2016) he replaced the wash tub seal and tub cover which were leaking and corroded. The second time (November 2016) he rebuilt the transmission. He has basically rebuilt the entire machine now, so I now have a brand-new-30-year-old machine that works great. It should last longer than I will at this point. You can see pictures of the repair on the Browne's Appliance website. Chris is polite, honest, dependable, prompt, provides good service and quickly determines the problems and solutions. His parts guy, Tom, is excellent too. While working on the machine, they also note other possible problems. For example, they noticed the drain holes on the washer tub were becoming clogged, and cleaned them out, saving me another service call. Another example: the first time he came out to repair the Maytag washer, at my request, he also cleaned out the Dryer venting system for a nominal charge. He wasn't on such a tight time-schedule that he couldn't accommodate a customers unplanned request for additional help. I appreciated not having to schedule a second service call for the Dryer venting. Chris is focused on building a good, strong business based on customer satisfaction. When they repair your appliances, they stay fixed! I wish he fixed cars too. read more

***UPDATE - Chris from Browne's immediately called me after the review to clear everything up. Seems it was just a mistake and he did what he could to make it right. ***. They no-showed on me twice! I usually don't write reviews, but I relied on Yelp in selecting Browne's so I figured it makes sense to write a review. My washer started leaking while I was on vacation last week. I called Browne's right away when I got home to come check the washer. The first day they could come was Friday from 1-5 so I took the afternoon off and stayed home. By 4:30 no one had called or come to my house so I called the office. They found there was some mistake and said that someone would come Saturday for sure between 1-5. I again waited at home Saturday afternoon but again no one called or showed up. Now it's Monday - I figured I'd get a call explaining what happened but I haven't. I'm at a total loss for words. It the first day of school. I haven't been able to do laundry since our vacation and I'm back to square one. Something other potential customers should be aware of. read more

Called Browne's for a quote on a repair and was given a number of $69.95 for a diagnosis and trip charge but I was told that would cover such an easy repair. Service tech Mike shows up after calling the wrong phone to confirm. Mike decides the repair, tightening 3 screws and vacuuming the lint in my dryer will now cost me $120. I balk at number. He argues with me and tells me I am worng. I was given a number over the phone and he tries to double it? Now Mike says $20 additional. Say he is calling boss to see what gives and I refuse to pay what he asks. They do it for the $69.95 and it takes a whopping 10 minutes. HE TIGHTENED 3 screws! REALLY? I call and ask to speak to the owner. A very unpleasant experience gets even worse. The owner, a rude woman, tells me this is the cost of doing business with gas, insurance etc but no apologies for trying to double an already high number. She wonder why I am getting upset? Please. I would steer far clear of this business. Go to somewhere where they will stand behind the word they give and not treat a customer badly. We are what keeps you in business after all but NOT WITH SERVICE LIKE THIS! read more

I have had Browne's come out to fix my LG combo washer dryer 3 times. The first time they were the factory-warranty hired by LG because the main circuit board went bad after less than one month. Of course, this was free to me. The second time I got estimates from 3 companies over the phone and tried a different company, which turned out to be 2 or 3 incompetent brothers who were trying to make TONS of extra money on parts, etc. I eventually went back to Browne's. They were not the cheapest, but they were quick and efficient and competent AND HONEST. The other guys probably would have turned out to be more expensive, anyway, due to dishonesty. After 8 years the plastic drain hose finally got brittle and started to leak. I ordered the part from LG's distributor and decided to call Browne's first (after getting a repair price directly from LG, who by now has a network of people they arrange themselves). Browne's was half the price of the LG team, and once again they did a great job. I think LG just takes the normal price of the local person, doubles it, then splits it between themselves and the local company. No need to pay LG double! I am very happy with Browne's because they are honest and competent. read more

So, my protection plan company hired these idiots to do the job. The 1st visit was done by chris. we explained the issue w our washer (the drum was accumulating water even when not in use). He only vacummed the lint and did a diagnosis and said everything was fine. It wasnt. It was scheduled again due to same issue. Some other guy came out and diassembled my washer, and then he said there were gonna charge me more than $100. I called the warranty company they stated everything should be covered. Well my husband told the tech that chris didn't do anything to it he only vacummed and did a diagnosis even though we told him what was the issue. That gentlemen texted chris and apparently told him. My husband got a rude and threatening phone call from chris. I called the warranty company and told them I do not need their service. So, chris ordered his tech guy to leave the washer machine disassembled, if not hell get fired!!!! Can you believe that crap. It was chaos. Now, the washer has water, doesn't want to open, and it's giving me an oe message. Bottom line, chris was pressuring my husband to admit he did work on it the first time. But my husband knew it was bull cause we saw him do nothing. He is unprofessional, and who threatens another person? Is your business that bad that you want to rip off people. Never are they allowed to step foot in my home for the safety of my family. He sooo needs to get some management skills, and anger management classes. read more

I know nothing about refrigerators and had to constantly suggest/ask him for areas to check, then he does. He didn't seem to care about the problem. Needed my appliances installed and I have been without a kitchen for a month now due to renovations. Kitchen was halfway done and I thought it was ready for my appliances to be installed. Nope... I was wrong... could not wait for Lowe's to come "assess" what I needed done. So I messaged Browne's Appliances which responded less than an hour and was able to fit me in the next day. Chris kept in touch with me from when he first responded to my message all the way until he arrived for my appointment. I like the fact that he was upfront about everything and telling me what he can do and cannot do because my kitchen was halfway done. I am fully satisfied with the quality of service that was provided to me today and once my kitchen is complete, I will definitely be calling them back to finish up what I have remaining. Absolutely great. Nate called Electrolux HQ and did exactly what he was instructed to do when my $1500 dryer needed surgery. Perfect repair, and not one scratch. VERY HONEST and sincere people. At first, I had a different company come out, look at my upright freezer seal, and declare that I needed to remove 30% of the food from the freezer as well as everything in the door! I found this unreasonable, so I contacted Browne's Appliance Service for a second opinion. Chris, who came out, was very friendly (unlike the other company), didn't say anything about the amount of food in the freezer, immediately pulled out his heat gun to relax and soften the seal, and ... problem solved! My old Maytag, that I would never part with, needed repairs. Talked with Tom Wed. afternoon. Machine picked up Thursday. Machine returned Saturday. I didn't know repair places worked Saturday. I got first class treatment from Chris from his desire to return my machine as quickly as possible and the quality of repairs. My machine runs like it's brand new. He even checked my broken dish washer for free, and told me to buy another better brand that works better. Don't bother getting this one fixed! Who is this Chris guy and why doesn't he own his own business if he is so amazing. I feel i need this Chris guy to solve my washer dryer combo issue, because evidently, he knows his stuff . So I call and ask to talk to Chris. He's very young guy, comes out and gives me not only good service but great advice. I know everything about the hair business, but i just want my washer to work and pretty much don't know a lot about the ins and outs of it. I quickly find out that Chris now owns this business and has since January. so take all those one star reviews and throw them out. Here is the bottom line. If you want a repairman you can trust to be knowledgeable, work hard, for a fair price, this is the company for you. He solved some big problems for me, I trusted his honest and fact based suggestions, and could not be more impressed. I purchased a front load washer from Best Buy and asked them to switch the dryer/washer position when installing it to accommodate the correct door positioning. They refused to do that so I called Browne's who has given us excellent service in the past, and Chris ,the owner, came out and finished the installation for me. He not only made the change efficiently but did all the necessary housecleaning behind the machines without being asked. He was on time, pleasant, had everything he needed to do the job and did it quickly. Great service every time along with fair pricing. read more

My Dryer is fixed of which I'm happy. But they charged a service fee of $54 to drive the short distance to my home. Which in now way affects other charges. The technician was very knowledgeable. But then I'm also charged a $50 labor fee for ten minutes work and $44 for parts which I found at Sears site for $24.95 and a couple of others where the high price was $14. Because of the price structure not the service I would think long and hard before I called that number again. read more

they charged me to remove my dishwasher but were missing a tool. While they took the money they never came back to remove my dishwasher. IT has been 20 days since then. I have left 3 voicemails and spoke to a girl in their office who said she would take care of it YET THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS AND HAVE NOT SHOWED UP! My next step is to file a complaint with the BBB and let LG know that their authorized service group is less than ethical and professional. Just call someone else... anyone. read more

We should have done this months ago...thought we needed Chris's assistance (Browne's Appliance Service) again recently for either the Washer or Refrigerator. Chris serviced our washer and dryer this year, did a super job on both and very fairly priced. And twice now we recently thought we needed his service again: once for the washer, turns out we over filled the soap, it wasn't leaking (per Chris) and once for the washer, dryer or refrigerator, turns out we turned on a toaster oven at the same time all was running together and blew a breaker. Both times Browne's was quick to respond to help us, put us on the schedule for right away service and then when we needed to cancel before they would arrive, for the reasons above, they were glad to do, no problems, extremely understanding. Not only do they service the appliances so well but all the way from Chris the owner (really skilled person) to Ren in the office to Tom in the parts dept., they have the best Team ever! Really Terrific service no matter what!! Can't believe how Ren was so kind to schedule all and then have to cancel all, so pleasant about it to, how thorough Tom was in ordering a refrigerator filter, he was so helpful in guiding us for the correct fridge part and how fast we received it.
